    Great animation! The effects were great, and it seemed far more gritty and realistic then most of the over the top, action brick films.

    Such a beautiful animated Animation. Loved the effects, really love the practical blood and explosions. Also liked the Background shouting of the Germans, not the usual sounds I hear. Always happy to lend you my voice.

    it's terrific...and abominable, like war always is, and the first WW in particular. Did you ever read Alistair Horne's "The price of glory" ? It depicts wonderfully the horror of Verdun! Funny, and outstanding, that a lego reconstruction of Douaumont moved me this much! Well done!

      I guess they thought from the confusion of smoke covered battlefield & hand to hand combat in trenches etc they can identify friend from foe.

      Docteur Meyeur tu te trompe la grande majorité des soldats allemands était des anciens de la guerre
      Ladisparitation total des casque à pointe se ferons début 1817

      yamapitroll tv Dès 1915 ils s'équipent tout comme les français d'un casque. Alors peut-être qu'il y avait des casques a pointe (même si c'est plus des képis a pointe qu'autre chose...) mais la majorité avait des casques.

      En fevrier 1916 les allemands commençaient à peine à introduire le Stahlhelm M16 et presque uniquement chez leurs troupes de choc, une bonne partie de leurs troupes régulières ne le portaient pas encore.

    Great animation but it isn’t the most accurate as the French were attacking the fort as the Germans had captured it without a fight

    I think in 1916 the German Frontsoldiers had yet the Stahlhelm and not any more the Pickelhaube. Good Animation :)

    Nice animation! But, not to be mean or anything, this battle never happened. The French took the heavy guns from the fort and stationed elderly soldiers there. The Germans snuck up on the fort and captured the small garrison.
    The fort was captured without a shot.

    Ok so I do love this but it’s not my number one favorite for one reason and one reason only
    The walls, it made me feel like they were in a very small space and were just straight up trapped (sorry if I sound like a deva )

    The germans should be whereing steel helmets because that was the first battle with stormtroopers and they wore steel helmets but the captains and artillery crews didnt

      SVFilmz hey, I got no time to make a video cause I got exams but I can email you the file which has all my decals on, then you just print them to size, glue them on them finish them with clear nail varnish.

    Complete logic at beginning: Germans at artillery speak English while French people say it in French. It's great still though!

      he custom painted it, because at the time (7 years ago) custom lego minifigures were very uncommon.
