Can I use size 4 weight yarn for this project? Does that change the hook size as well? I love the simplicity and elegance of your patterns, and the kindness in your voice as you teach! Thank you!

Hello! This pattern was designed, made and tested using size 3 (light) yarn and a K/10.5 (6.50 mm) hook. You are welcome to try a different yarn weight and/or hook size but the size, overall look and feel of your scarf as well as the amount of yarn required may be different. For example, if you use size 4 (medium) yarn, your scarf may be thicker and heavier with tighter stitches that look different and your scarf may not be as flexible, lightweight and airy as it was designed to be. If you would like to try making it with size 4 (medium) yarn, you can try using the same hook size (K/10.5) or try going up hook size (perhaps a 7.00 mm or a L/11 (8.00 mm)). I recommend you make a small sample (ch 25 and follow the pattern) to see if you like it.
