Being an Arsenal fan is being constantly on the edge of your seat because you never know what comes next
Seriously. I became a fan after the 2010 World Cup, and within 5 years, you have the 2011 collapse after Eduardo breaks his leg, the 8-2 game (I still argue that game is the Butterfly Effect that made Arsenal the team it is today because they signed Mertesacker and Arteta after it), the 4-0 -> 5-7 Reading game, Ozil and Sanchez, Oxlade-Chamberlain getting a foul and Gibbs being sent off for it, and 2 FA Cups to end the drought.
Never a dull moment with this team, but they certainly made the last 13 years interesting.

Being a Tottenham fan is being constantly depressed because you have extremely low expectations and they are still not getting met

Quick note on all the American players in the EPL:
Matt Turner has yet to play for Arsenal in the PL, but he's looked good in cup games and has only allowed 1 goal from open play
Antonee Robinson and Tim Ream are starting just about every game for Fulham and have been solid
Pulisic has 1 goal in 16 appearances. Hopefully he can get out next summer
Chris Richards has started to break into Crystal Palace's starting lineup and looked great against United last week
In addition to Adams and Aaronson, Weston McKennie will be joining Leeds on loan through the end of the season with an obligation to buy if Leeds stays up
fair play to adams but aaronson has been absolutely fucking awful he wouldnt be a starter for any championship play off team

Would be cool to see you do a Clueless ________ piece on MLS. The closed league structure is pretty weird in the context of world football and resembles the NFL more than Pro/Rel league systems. The season begins soon and the new Apple TV+ deal starts this year so it's a good time.
It feels so good to see Arsenal doing this well. It's theirs to lose at this point.

Dog days of the season about to kick in and we still don't have acceptable cover behind Partey, and while we have theoretically an 8-point lead at this point if we win our game in hand, we've got some tough fixtures coming up (both City fixtures, Anfield, St. James' Park), and Liverpool had bigger leads than this that they bottled away to City.
Our goal before the start of the season was to finish Top 4. That is still Objective 1. We lock that up, then we push City for the league as long as we can. But fuck me, I'm gonna enjoy this ride as long as it lasts.

@Karl Tanner That doesn't give a lot of detail. But he did take a very inconsistent and inexperienced US team to the round of 16 of the world cup, a place where the US doesn't usually belong. He is a defensively minded coach, and doesn't have a lot of experience as a top tier manager, so you could put that against him definitely.
As a long time Manchester City fan, you’re absolutely right, Arsenal’s team and fairy tale story this year is so disgustingly likeable. I hope we can catch them, but they’ve had an incredible season and deserve high praise

@15:25: lol...to clarify... Arsenal should have won the league in 2016, but they ran up against Leicesters magical run. That ended their 20+ year run of Consecutive CL Qualifications, a record only bested by Real Madrid. We've also won the FA Cup and Community Shield 4 times in the last decade, most recently both in 2020, played in a Europa League Final in 2019. Soo...in comparison to The Invincibles, yes, it's been a while since that kind of dominance. But to say "they've been crap since the mid 2000s" is a stretch. Arsenal have continued to win trophies and be relevant despite their "troubles." Which coincides with Tottenham's golden years, with them even playing in a CL Final .. Yet still no trophies!!! 🤣
I'd probably give the edge on a player-to-player basis to Man City as well. BUT, again, Arsenal are not scrubs. Saka and Martinelli on the wings, Odegaard pulling strings... Thomas Partey could rival Casemiro for impact... He's been amazing this year. Their backup striker Nketiah is the highest goal scorer for England U21s, passing Alan Shearer. Zinchenko is unreal. They sent 10 players to the World Cup...

As a 44 year old Arsenal fans, I clearly remember the good times and the bad, and I have to say that so far, this season as been borderline emotional at times. it's been almost 20 years since I watched Arsenal as EXPECTED as win.....but....I can't help but constantly feel like it will all come to a crashing end before the season ends. I really hope I'm wrong!!!!!

Eric Ten Hags season at united is sort of reminding me of Emerys 2018 2019 season. Great run of wins, but due to lack of investment and depth (they NEED players in January), they'll just come short at the end for Champions League. Even as an Arsenal fan, I kinda whish it won't happen

I'm actually glad Arsenal topped the league for a long time this season, because Arsenal fans got cocky, people started critisizing Man City, but when the business end of the season came, Arsenal, went *full* Arsenal, and bottled everything that they didn't fucking watertank, so AFTV becomes so so much angrier.
If at any point a team top of the Prem is 3-1 down to SOUTHAMPTON, then they ain't fucking winning.

At the start of the season i figured Haaland was the problem at City due to them having to change their entire playing style to adjust to his style of play, but in reality the problem is Pep, City was already a good club under his leadership but his constant changing of tactics mid-match are whats stopping them from winning on the big stage, so the team doesn't necessarily deserve a C but Pep sure does, and this is coming from a United fan
