    I have to admit I never paid attention to that, so I appreciate your tip. The older I get, the more I dislike rigging plastics. I can't get them rigged correctly/straight. One reason I power fish more. Thanks for the lesson.

    • @stoneysdead689
      @stoneysdead689 4 месяца назад

      I had trouble with that until I figured out- I couldn't see, got some glasses and it really helped. Usually, plastic baits have a mold line or there's a line through the ribs along the back, a hook slot, something you can use to line them up- but you have to be able to see clearly. Say you're rigging a worm on an ewg hook- like the first one he showed with the shank that's in line with the hook point- go through the end of the worm and try to center the hook point- now come out on the mold line, and when you go to put the point back through- go through the mold line again. If it's a creature there may not be a mold line you can use- but they usually have lines to help you get it right- one down the center of the belly, one down the center of the back. If there isn't a line- imagine one or draw one in with as Spike-it marker. It took me about 2-3 months but you eventually get where you can rig them in the dark and get them right- swim baits are probably the hardest- to me. Some of them can be really tricky at times.

    Great tip Matt! Tried using the usual method with the Ozark and it was tough to get the plastic over the weight portion of the hook without the plastic wanting to tear/split. Especially with the larger 3/16 oz. Wetting the weighted portion helped but the method shown in this video makes much more sense. Thanks!

    • @jamesbarron1202
      @jamesbarron1202 4 месяца назад

      You’d have to cut your line every time you replaced your plastic. You can do that the first time you rig it before you tie it on. If you used a snap you could do it like your saying and not have to cut your line. Just unhook the snap and rig it like you say and reattach it to the snap.

    • @MattStefanFishing
