    It's so nice to hear someone talking about a finished object that took the time to make the item they wanted and it work out well. I think there's such a rush for people to finish that making a product we love and are proud of and took our time to make it the way we wanted it means volumes! I guess I'm a process knitter and didn't realize it lol

    Love the petroleum colour! It really suits you 😊
    Regarding the single skein that you’ve got, have you considered knitting a small shawl, e.g. the Turtle Dove Shawly by Sari Nordlund? You’ll only need one skein of fingering held with one skein of mohair for the project, so it’s a perfect stash busting project

      I just saw a few turtle dove shawls recently and they are so pretty! I find I don’t wear small scarves very much but it seems like a fun process knit

    I've been wanting to make some knit ornaments, too. Yours are all so cute, but I think the toadstool is my favorite. I love swatching just to see how a yarn works up, and I've been kicking around the idea of doing something more functional, and those cottages might be just the thing! Mini sweaters sound great in theory, but I think they trick my smooth brain a bit, since variegation would look so different on a full size sweater than it would on a little tiny one.

    I have some cashmere pants and I love them. Grateful to have a wonderful mother-in-law! The matching top is for winter but very low cut. My husband loves it but I've not worn it yet lol it definitely makes me want to knit with cashmere. Hopefully will be my Hanukkah gift this year. 💙

    For your cumulus tee why don’t you knit a band in a different colour then use the ball you just got. The separation would avoid the colour jarring.

    Beautiful 2nd pi camisole and I’m loving the Jenny jacket. Thank you so much for your yarn recommendations. They are very helpful! I would like to make a 2nd cumulus tee as well as my first has some imperfections and I feel second time around I could just do better. However, I did eventually find the body a slog. I actually knit most of it during the winter on my commute. We‘ll see. But you’ve inspired me!

    • @hipknithooray
      @hipknithooray  Месяц назад

      It was my commute project too!! And agreed kind of a slog, but I also like to always have a mindless stockinette project in the needles which I don’t really have at the moment

    I wonder if the reason the neckline ribbing ends up shorter than the armhole ribbing, with the same number of rows, has to do with the fact that the neckline is under more tension/horizontal stretch? Like, if you stretch ribbing horizontally it loses some of its height. Your knits look so cute, btw! ❤

    As for the different dyelots, if something similar happens again you could fade the 2 colours together by alternating the skeins and eventually end up with the new colour. I learned from someone on reddit (r/knitit😊) and it saved my first ever garment. Thanks for the video. 🐏
