    This was genuinely one of the most interesting and exciting videos I've filmed to date. I really hope that comes across in the film and you guys get as much enjoyment out of this, as I did when filming it! Thanks again to ProAlloy for making it possible :D

    Great video. Lovely finish on yours at the end. I did ponder how it was created.. it's basically like a PCB .. resurfacing.. pop it in the oven just at melting point and it fixes and bad soldering. Gotta love science.

    Really cool to see the making of an intercooler... a great advertisement for the product and workmanship that goes into it too. What are the real world benefits on a 'daily' road car... apart from looking awesome.

      Brad Warren All about ensuring that your car is delivering the same performance at all times and in all conditions. Not been on the Dyno, but my car feels slightly more urgent now even without a change in software. The longer gears especially seem to pull harder than before too, which is nice :) fitting guide coming shortly!

      @@JBCTR fascinating video tks just to clarify do all mk8 sts have this type of inter cooler or is this a mod option?

    • @JBCTR
      @JBCTR  5 лет назад

      Tony S Hi! This is an upgraded cooler. The stock ones are about half the height and have plastic end tanks. As I’m sure you’d expect, they’re mass produced and don’t quite have the same level of craftsmanship as these. That said, they are good enough for cars running stock power used on the road. Track use, or if you are adding more power, then it’s worth upgrading :)

    Very interesting! I take it you are not from an engineering background? There's some small mistakes in the explanation of how the intercooler works. For example with the intercooler in the air circuit the mass flow rate into the engine does not slow down, but the pressure decreases. And neither does air heat up due to the friction of air molecules, but rather because you make them bump into eachother faster! Still a good video :)
