I’m in my early 30s and I know I would eff up that whole first bit. He was probably around his 60s here and he didn’t even stutter once on all of that. He continued making comedy essentially up until he died. And it still amazes me that he never lost his edge or slowed down the pace of his shows. He was sharp as a tack until the very end.
George does those little "raps" or "beat poems" in his comedy so much. Sometimes just a couple of lines, sometimes it's a whole ass poem. Guy was obsessed with language and wordplay. He was half comedian and half beat poet. He obsessed over getting the joke and the punchline right, but he also obsessed over getting the rhythm of every joke and story right. He really performed his acts like he was up their doing songs. Not just the words, but the rhythm had to be right. A lot of people get up there and tell jokes, or make funny faces, or do physical comedy with their bodies, but it's a rare comedian who is as smart as George was, and nobody, NOBODY, has ever really had the same "comedy poetry" style that George did so well. RIP to one of the GOATs.
I'm not even remotely kidding but George Carlin is why I'm an atheist. He made more sense with his analysis of religion than anyone else ever has to me. @@ProfessorHubertFarnsworth George Carlin was an angry and bitter man that got angrier as he aged. He died too young and ultimately miserable. He's your influence? How sad. But let me ask you something: Where did everything come from? It's a scientific reality that something cannot come from nothing. For every effect there is a cause; therefore there must be a First Cause that always was. This is sound logic. Now there is also the problem of evil (and good). If there is no God, why is there evil? And how did we come to know it as evil? If there is no God, the only sane way to live would be to get what I could out of this world at any cost. Nothing would be evil. Survival of the fittest. Last, Christ came to save those who trust in Him, and Him alone for their righteousness, from sin and death. He did not come to save those who think they are good enough, but those who know they're not. Jesus Christ (God in the flesh) PROVED he is God by rising from the dead by his own power. He lived the perfect life that we couldn't live, then took the punishment our sin deserves, that we could never pay. He did this to conquer sin and death to anyone who recognizes they are sinners in need of a Savior, confesses this, and asks Jesus to come into their hearts. My friend, you are a sinner (and you know it) that is in need of a Savior. There is only one mediator between God and man; the man Jesus Christ. Turn to Him!!!

I saw George Carlin live way back. One of the funnest comedians Ever! A couple years later I saw Richard Pryor live Oh My! You cannot compare any stand up comic today with Richard or George. Love them both RIP you comical bastards!!
Think about this: He had to think of a topic, write the material, edit it, rewrite it, edit it, memorize it, rehearse it endlessly, and stand on stage and deliver. Insane. If you guys like this check him out doing Modern Man. A 5 minute rant on the condition of the modern man.
George Carlin was a genius. All other comics pale in comparison. He was the gold standard of comedy. But, with the shock and laughs, he made us reflect on things we hadn't thought about before. He made us work to laugh. And, as a result, we hurt from too many belly laughs. And, we left the theater exhausted like we feel after a big Thanksgiving dinner. And, we slept good at night. Thank you, George. We miss you.
The other great comedians tell really funny jokes with a dash of truth to them, that make them worth remembering. But Carlin just talks straight facts, but in a funny way.
Advertising almost always sends this message: "Think of all the bad things that can happen if you don't buy our product" or "Think how perfect your life will be and how happy you'll be when you buy our product" The smart phone is the best example ever. But we eat that line of shit up every time.
Carlin was a master of speech. Every single performance was meticulously written out and then HE MEMORIZED EVERY SINGLE WORD. The man is a legend.
There are multiple accounts of him repeatedly rehearsing all of his lines prior to his shows. Absolute Legend.
I saw him live 3 times I don't how he memorized his routine and so into it. Everytime was a different routine no repeat.😂

Same, I love that one
I really enjoy watching y'all laugh. Losing your minds!
There was a show back in the early 2000s with a bunch of comedians from all walks of life (from Patrice O’Neil to Greg Geraldo) called “Tough Crowd” and you guys should definitely check it out!
Mental capacity at infinity. A world class writer and orator. As unreal as he is undeniable. George Carlin
That's the most intelligent comedian that they've ever heard, guaranteed. There are those that use crass humor, jokes, and other things but Carlin was it when the intellectual humor
This was good. You should watch him talk about having "stuff". Everyone can relate to George👍🏼
I love George so much. Major influence on me. RIP.
Friend surprised me, , had a plan, sum one to take my shift, drove me to see George Carlin! in person!! in Humboldt..
( PNW) Wow. it was a amazing. ( single mom raising 2 on my own( no child support,)made it even more it was special.). Thx for your
attention to it..
You guys are hilarious. I love that y'all rep UL, too. Best wishes in your academic studies and athletic competitions.
George was one of my all-time fave comedian along with Richard Pryor. Checkout George on an awesome bit titled " Modern Man " you'll be amazed .
Enjoyed watching that with ya, especially when it turned to religion. 3 of you looked like you were praying that this wasn't the episode your mom's were watching.
This guy should be in the American school curriculum.
If you dig that opening advertising monologue, a similar and equally impressive bit is George's "Modern Man" monologue from the Life is Worth Losing(2005) special
Insane he can remember all that!
Thanks heaps guys, had me laugh into stomach cramps
I have discovered your channel thanks to the first George Carlin reaction video that you made a few months ago so I am always happy to see you reacting to George Carlin! :-)
Whats is these boys are getting him back out there for us too enjoy
I just came upon your channel , so great to see you reflecting on the great George Carlin, I want to hear more of what you think on it.
and guy in SF hat , still looks like an exact mix of Bow Wow & T.I. !
I’m a huge comedian fan and my favorite is Norm Macdonald. Start with his 12 minute joke.
Joey Diaz 1 legged woman.
Gotta react to it.
I saw George Carlin live way back. One of the funnest comedians Ever!
A couple years later I saw Richard Pryor live Oh My! You cannot compare
any stand up comic today with Richard or George. Love them both RIP you comical bastards!!
Lucky.
Omg you have to react to his airline announcements skit. I end up laughing til I am in tears every time.
Gentlemen; trust me.
BILL HICKS: Marketing
basically ANYTHING from Bill.
trust me
You know the saying "there are levels to this"? This is what GOAT level looks like.
Carlin's Baseball vs Football is a MUST SEE.
You guys should check out George Carlin on "Stuff". It's great!
Same “bit” is the word you’re looking for. Also please react to some Corey Holcomb. Dude has some hilarious bits himself. You wont regret it.
