@Herny TudorFord thank you so much! Our phonetics lecturer is actually very well-qualified and she demands us to sound British. It was surprising that I didn't know something as simple as "aren't".
Just so you know, if you pronounce "aren't" like "aunt" in America or Canada, we will have no idea what you're saying. Just be aware that this is British pronunciation only, and that if you need to use "aren't" outside of British speaking countries, you will need to pronounce the "r" to be understood. Especially in the USA.
Thank you very much for your teaching lesson, teacher Gill. They're very helpful, well explained... I'm amazed with the way you share your knowledge with your followers, I'm always waiting for your videos. Greetings from Veracruz, Mexico.

I'm Brazilian and I have to say: What a beautiful and dear grandmother. It was a great pleasure for me to learn a little more from you, dear teacher. God bless you! We all love you!
With my particular American accent, I pronounce "aren't" arnt, with a rhotic r. In New York City, certain people say a-rent. aren't and aunt are two completely different sounds.
Yes, we do indeed pronounce the "r" in the USA and Canada. The British way of pronouncing the word like "aunt" will not be understood very well outside of England or British speaking countries.
