Programmed by Keith Burkhill, a badass coder from the ZX Spectrum days (Commando et al) and music by Matt Furniss, a badass musician from the Amiga days. No wonder the game's got parallax scrolling on Game Gear hardware and has great music. :-)
I had been playing this on SMS for so long! It has one of the greatest sound tracks, despite of having nothing to do with the movie, or even the athmosphere of plot. The scenario is really awesome, the team really tried replying the parts of the prison from movie.
this guy seemed to completely avoid the facehuggers that always killed me. that was all this game was for me (a five year old) - crawling around killing xenomorphs until a facehugger freaking killed me
@@troywright359 You can't like everything. I'm the same with Super Mario World. I didn't think it looked very good back in 1992 even, the controls are wonky and imprecise. Most of all it's not especially fun to play. Not a bad game by any means, but far from a great one. It's a C or C- in my book. Some people look like they're about to send a band of assassins after me when I say something like that.
As much as I disliked the film (alien and aliens are my fave films ever) I absolutely loved this game. I got it with my game gear and 6 other games for xmas when I was 10. Such a good looking game!
I just noticed the end level screen has the same music as mortal kombat. Never saw the 3rd area of this one. Looks like a nightmare of sameness and confused background graphics.
Wow this version and the SNES version are way better. This version was ported to the Master System, Genesis and NES systems, but this one over those is the best because the Aliens actually climb walls after you, they don't just move on a same pattern. I love the SNES one better due to its mood, graphics and even the ending. The Gameboy because it is unique on its own. Yet, This version on the other ports not much, but on the GG is the best of this version.
One of the best Game Gear games.
Some effort went into making this like the Genesis version.

I was amazed at the parallax effects being on Sms and GG, a lot of effort was put into it and it shows.
Perhaps instead of parallax scrolling the guy could have coded in some fun gameplay instead. I think I would have preferred that.

RIP Al Matthews who played Sgt. Apone in Aliens.
Hated this game as a kid. One of the few duds I owned.
Music is good, but the jumping is terrible. You can't tell, but it's harder then it looks
What?! To me this one of the best games on the Game Gear. Better than the Genesis version.
@@felixfranzen7578 probably, just not my favourite.

Intro music sounds like ur typical keygen

Play Alien Trilogy on the Saturn.

yeah i noticed the aliens actually move like aliens which is nuts for the game gear
Wow this game gear port is actually pretty dang good
The music makes it *REAL* good, am I right? Matt Furniss is such a huge genius!
Wow this is identical to the sms version
It's a common thing for Game Gear games.
The music sounds like the nes version
Brings back memories thank you.
My Pink Acid Boots, anyone remember that one?
Okay so the GG version is a port of the SMS version. I see.
Joguei na versão do Mega Drive
Jogaço da minha infância, parabéns pelo vídeo 👏👏👏
This actually seems a lot better than the MD/Genesis version! Also, the music and SFX is very un-annoying for a GG game.
Same composer!
I tried the SNES version
Got it 😎
