The story of Subaru joining hololive is the greatest story of them all and I love it. She got in based PURELY ON CHARISMA. She had ZERO knowledge and ZERO experience, she literally knew nobody in the industry, and she only applied because her house burned down and she needed the money. She was a normie that took a risk, without knowing how big of a risk she was taking.

We (I'm also an introvert after all) are just find it hard to convey our thought. But once we find other introverts who have the same wave length, we can finally take out our hidden side. Just look at Aqua for example. Like I said, I'm an introvert. But I had quite a lot of friends back then in my school days, and 90% of them were introverts. So it just like I somehow created a group and safe haven for introverts for other students (mostly were from the same year as me) to gather around. When we were together, we could laugh and have fun together just like a group of extroverts. My most interesting story, me and my other 4 introvert close friends were actually branded as the noisiest group in our field trip bus way back then in my school days. When even extroverts in our bus fell asleep due to the long journey, my group of five keep talking and laughing non stop for hours. Even the teacher said "You guys are good and silent kids in class. How come you all have this much energy to keep talking?". And all we could do was an ackward smile lol

In my experience there is 4 different types of Introverts and 2nd Gen best encapsulates this. There is the Anti-Social (Shion), Socially Anxious (Aqua), Independent (Choco), and Aloof/Free-Spirited (Ayame) Most of the time you'd get a mix of these four types, but Gen 2 is filled with quirky introverts. Subaru is technically an Ambivert (can be extroverted but likes their alone time) but to them she's an overwhelming Extrovert.

My best friend irl is also a loud extrovert, and I can confirm that the loudness and intensity of that type of person can be hard to stomach at first. However it's a trait that I respect and adore so much as you can always count on them to fill quiet or awkward time! I highly suggest all my fellow introvert to befriend an extrovert, they can become such useful resources and great friends before you know it!!!

I think that mostly happens because us introverts stuggle at initiating conversations or social interactions, but we still actually want to do those things, so having someone who'd essentially do that for us seems nice. And then we realize, with shock and horror, that social interactions in general is draining and that the struggle doesn't end with initiating the conversation. XD
Being introverted doesn't mean they never want to socialize so having an extroverted friend helps expands our circle of potential friends and acquaintances for when we want to socialize.......and for them to be there to possibly do the heavy lifting in social situations that we may find ourselves in or ones that they may drag us into

As a MMA team manager who stumbled into the world of Hololive and found herself surrounded by witches, succubi, oni and.. er... nautical maids, and finding out that she'd been reincarnated as a duck, she certainly qualifies for the isekai portion.
Gen 2 is school themed (3 of them in the same school). Demon world stuco pres Ayame, demon nurse Choco, witch apprentice Shion. Then human world MMA and Esports club manager Subaru and gamer maid cosplayer Aqua
Hilarious as it is, it makes sense why Subaru would make such a difficult first impression. Being overly positive and energetic was the only thing she could do since she had no prior experience to go off of. Aqua wasn’t kidding when she said it felt like Subaru came from another world; for all intents and purposes, Subaru was literally a normal person that dove headfirst into otaku culture because she needed the money. It must’ve been awkward when two of your Gen-mates had previous experience and their own way of doing things while the other two were nervous introverts. At least she stuck around and other talents showed her the ropes, and it paved the way for one of the most inspiring Hololive success stories next to Sora and Suisei.

It seems like she goes with the flow more often as opposed to sticking to the script like she used to. Guess that could be said about most of the early gens. It probably changed with Coco and Haachama's influence on the rest of the girls.
Subaru is such an extrovert, she doesn’t let a silly little thing as a language barrier stop her. She’ll use what little English she’s capable of, combine it with sound effects, and have a conversation that way.
Shion does give off that high-class lady kind of vibes from the start which, for many, is kind of intimidating to approach. Aqua is just too shy. Ayame feels close to Shion but more of a trendy young girl kind of vibes. Chocosen has the mature teacher vibes, and Subaru the tomboy childhood friend kind of energy.
In the end, she became the glue that stick the gen 2 together, cause if she didn't do this I doubt the 5 of them will ever collab in the same room together. While Choco-sen might also be the type to invite people, but she's also the type that if the other party says "no" she'll be "ok, never mind then"
Of course one of the most endearing and inspiring Hololive members would be the odd one out, if they were all of that, no-one could get a chance to shine on their best qualities like Subaru has.
I think Gen 2 has it the hardest when it comes to achieving full gen collabs. I mean, Shion takes breaks regularly, Ayame streams once every 2 months, Aqua is super ultra great delicious wonderful introverted. Crippling shyness. Subaru and Choco are the ones that are always active and are, well, extroverted.
In a world that generally prefers extroversion, usually introverts have to learn to deal with extroverts while extroverts don’t have to do the opposite. This is the first I’ve seen the opposite happen haha. I guess that’s what happens when you have more introverts in a room than extroverts.

tbf sometimes it is really hard to keep a conversation going if there are some hardcore introverts there. It always feels weird because you dont want them to not be heard or feel left out but you also dont want to pressure them too much.
