    I’ll be checking mine tomorrow. I can’t believe I was going to pay a mechanic to pull a few tabs and remove 3 screws.

    The closeup of the tabs is perfect, something every how-to vid should have. I'm always worried I'm going to apply the wrong pressure and break them. Also, I enjoyed how concise and I formative this is. Well done all around!

    Your video came up when I searched about poor fan power in a Highlander. The dash was also shuddering when the fan was turned on. Spent 20 minutes upside down under the dash, removed the screws, and found the fan was chock-full of a mouse nest. Putting the fan back in place was a little fussy, but now it's working great. Thanks! You saved me a trip to the mechanic and a couple hundred bucks I bet.

      Replaced the cabin air filter today as step two. The mice had chewed a 3 inch diameter hole in the old one on their way to nesting in the fan! Thanks again.

    Blower Motor went out in my moms car. I was nervous it was gonna be a huge ordeal! This video helped me go in prepared with the right set of mind, game plan, and tools!
    Simple, to the point, in and out of the car in 15 minutes! Fantastic! Thanks so much!

    Helped my mom get a 2012 model and the shade tree dealers didn't even change the oil. We turned on the fan and it sounded like machine guns going off. This improved my morale as I can now bring peace to decibel levels lol , thank you my brother

    Great video. 5 minutes to remove, squirrels left an acorn for me. 20 minutes scrubbing fins and smooth as silk. 😊

    Wow. Thanks so much for this RUclips University class. After buying a used Highlander and thinking the compressor was possibly bad, I find this video, follow it's concise direction only to discover it was a couple of leaves making the blower sound like the baseball cards we used to put in our bicycle spokes. Now if I can only find a rocker pin for the sunglass holder that won't stay shut.

    Had 4 leaves in the blower. They weren't big at all, but the AC made a terrible rattling noise. Removed leaves & it was back to no noise. Thanks for the video 🙂

    0:10 you can use a bottle of water to show vibration! Only thing I'd add to this very well produced video.

    I suspected a mouse made its way in there on a camping trip. THUMP THUMP THUMP the whole way home. And that’s just what I found! Ugh. It thanks to your video it was an easy (if a little gross) DIY project. Thank you!

    Oh by the way I used a flat head bit and battery powered screw driver. I could redo the whole process in less than 5 minutes if I need to do it again. Love Toyota simplicity.

      @@ScubaMoto well that is just it, the dang thing ran back up in the dash! So I doused the interior in peppermint oil and sat it in the driveway to heat up and stink him out, in theory 🤞🏻

    Thank you for the video.
    I have a quick question? Once i take the fan out and clean it up, do you think it is a good idea to use wd40 to just make sure it runs smoothly even more??

    • @ScubaMoto
      @ScubaMoto  2 года назад

      If you can access them, you can lubricate the motor shaft bearings with an oil like 3-in-one electric motor oil. WD40 might actually rinse away shaft lubricant.

    Hi, thank you for this video. I have a 2006 Highlander, so slightly different interior, but I think it'll be a similar process. My issue is the heat/ac fan is making a squealing/chattering sound (intermittently). Did you notice if there are any lubrication points on the fan when you had it apart, or do you think just giving it a good clean will be enough?

    • @ScubaMoto
      @ScubaMoto  3 месяца назад +1

      Good call on the oil since those sounds probably mean the motor bearing is burning out. Time for 3-in-one oil if you can get it where it's needed. Actually if it's already chattering, it might be past TPONR. I wasn't looking for lube points but I'd be surprised if it's got them. If you can't lube it, I 'm pretty sure you can get a new replacement fan assembly with motor for less than $40. Good luck with it.

      @@ScubaMoto Ya, had a quick look at the blower unit and can't see any obvious lube points. Guess I'll have to replace it. At least it's an easy fix. Thanks again.
