Nick...this worked! Thanks for posting!!! My 2010 Highlander was intermittent on the rear AC...Just by chance found your post and can't thank you enough for taking the time to post.
Glad I saw this video before I started taking panels off to inspect the evaporator, since it seems to have fixed the problem. Easy to see how it happens, especially with kids back there being kids. Many thanks.
Thank you Nick ! I'll do the same with my Highlander and let you know. Was going to buy the whole knob unit or take to dealership. This will save me tons of money. Changing subject ,would the radio knobs not controlling the station or volume be a similar fix or something different they are not wobbly ?
I think I have a similar problem on my 2011 Today Highlander, it's not switching to hot air at rear climate control. I was ok with that, until my front climate control started to do same thing . No hot air , Cold/ hot knots not responding.
Bruce Sn turn off the rear heat or AC completely just use the front in a higher speed. If hot/cold knob is not responding then do this procedure to front too. Steps are gonna be lil different but mostly the same
You're a legend. I had exact same problem and just fix it after watching this video. O$ spent thanks to u.
