Vishaka Hari has such an enviable facility in so many languages, Samskrutham, Telugu, Marathi, Tamil and, indeed, Hindhi. Wow..... We are fortunate to witness her bringing all of her music, philosophy and language content together. An intellectual / ethically satisfying experience.
In a BBC Interview of a former Prime Minister of Turkey, Bulen Ecevit, he said ( in effect) "Whenever I felt troubled by problems in my personal or public life I read the Bhagavad Gita, the ancient Indian book. It never failed to comfort me by offering a different view of how I should approach my problem". Pity that the Pseudo-secular rulers of India never paid proper attention to Hindhu Philosophy and its propagation at least within India's Educational system.
Very well said, Turkey was once following Sanathan Dharma then occupied and converted by Christians then there comes the arab religion. The destroyed many temples, Nalanda University and our life but modern Turkey esp Istanbul people are so nice. They are not radical islamists like the ones in India, Very friendly. They can distinguish between right and wrong and they live that way.
This is so beautiful but why don't the program conduct through Tamil I know tamil is popular for all the listeners but when we change the grammar actually the fundamental idea of Harikadha is changing the usage of the particular tamil language is the existence of this Artform
Vishaka Hari has done many Hari katha programmes in Tamil. In English this is only the third programme that I know. She is asked by many NRI organisations all over the World to do programmes for them. I understand, some of them request the English medium because their children are not as familiar with Tamil !!! With NRI children their exposure to Tamil is limited. Young Children speak the language spoken most at their School. Some Tamil families in India, living in states other than Tamilnadu, speak in the language of that state - Kannada in Karnataka, Marathi in Mumbai or in Hindi in Delhi.
Vishaka Hari now has her School of Hari Katha called Vijayashri School of Harikatha, through which she teaches all the fine arts, not just Hari Katha. She does not charge any fees. She teaches Online due to Covid Lockdowns. She meets the expenses of Net / Equipment / Electricity herself. Therefore, donations would be appropriate. There is provision for donation, but her Manager likes to hear first from the donor via his / her e-mail, which is vijayashrischoolofharikatha@gmail.com. Another Artist, Udayalur Kalyanaraman runs a charitable trust for indigent Bhagavathers / Powranikas. Details of that Trust can be had from 'Vaani Mahal', G.N. Chetty Road, T'Nagar, Even Music Academy of Madras may be able to provide details of many charitable trusts which cater for Karnatic Music / Hari Katha experts who due to age, illness require financial assistance. Of course, there are also Trusts which focus on training and teaching young people interested in becoming experts in Hari Katha and related fine arts.
