Tbh what exactly can you honestly do with a Solo 2 movie? They've introduced Maul in it, so you can't risk Han Solo ever running into Maul cause that would contradict ANH. Qi'ra would have to be killed off in some way, i just really don't know what you could do. Yes Crimson Dawn series would work beautifully.

I really enjoy Bad Batch, partly for the fun adventure of the week thing but I also really Like Omega and to see where her character ends up and I also like the Echo Character from when he was in Clone Wars to where he is now with Bad Batch and where he ends up. I am hoping they show how the Empire deals with the rest of clones. Kill them Off and how many possible survive. I enjoy all stars from the serious and dramatic of Andor, to the fun adventure stuff of Bad Batch and Mando. Keep up great work, Council.

Bad Batch is popcorn, needs longer arcs, more depth, and more stakes. Ahsoka will reflect Filon’s growth, my #1. I hope KOTOR will be the next tentpole series after Mando. I like a blank canvas for Lindelof. Imo we need the chaos of more force sensitives than what the emerging Jedi can handle, and a Sith awakening within that.

The Gilroys should write a Boba Fett crime thriller. Generally, a merger between the Gilroys writing and Filoni/Favreau vision needs to happen. A post-TRoS trilogy or an Old Republic trilogy. Not sure what is going on at Lucasfilm. They seem devoid of ideas although a broad range of possibilities can be explored. I'd like to see the Gilroys and Filoni/Favreau having creative oversight over Star Wars going forward.

A writer who has often been a bit of a pinata in the online sci-fi / fantasy community and has previous form for being confrontational about criticism of his work. With THIS fandom?? Grab yourself some popcorn folks, the fallout's going to be hilarious. I'm predicting scenes.

Theres a myriad of reasons why Solo didn’t work, especially as a giant film 6 months after The Last Jedi. For me the main reason I have no interest in seeing a continuation comes from the fact Solo was filled with every lazy, predictable, hokey beat any fan could have dreamt up! It was a Han Solo wiki article dressed up as a “film”. Some how they managed to cram every anecdote, reference, or throw away comment Han ever uttered/experienced into a 2 hour film. In hindsight could a series centered on Solo worked on Disney+? Sure, maybe. Should they? Honestly no. Like you all said the Franchise needs to push forward and make new things, characters and plots.

I like Bad Batch as a fun serialized adventure series. First 2 episodes of Season 2 are good, loved the conection to Dooku, and emotional scenes between Echo & Omega. I know not everyone likes Omega but i do love her as a character and Wrecker as well. I will believe Damon Lindelof's Star Wars movie is happening when i see it filming. Until then, i don't trust anything SW movie related.

I really like The Bad Batch. Growing up watching TCW, my favorite thing about that show was the Clones themselves. So a whole show dedicated to a group of Clones and their adventures across the galaxy is right up my alley. And I don't necessarily need it to have heavier lore implications to really enjoy it. The bits of heavier lore we get are definitely a plus and very much appreciated. But I don't need it. I'm totally fine with the adventure of the week aspect of it. But I'll gladly take the heavier lore if you're givin it to me.

Great show, love the takes from Smets!
I think that Bad Batch is fun, but its just something that I watch, rather than really looking forward to it. I am one of the folks that did not think a season 2 was necessary at all, and think they could have told the story in 1 season. I love the animation in the second season, but wasnt really intrigued by much of the two episodes so far, until the clone was killed at the end of the second episode. that is really the only intrigue that i had in two of the first episodes. It could be fun if they solely focus on phasing the clones out of the empire etc.
pleeeeeeeease do not drag this series out past 2 seasons. give us more Tales of the Jedi, and Tales of the Sith in between series instead!!!

i would like Solo 2, we would get to see him meet Jabba and Boba Fett, and before Book of Boba Fett came out, i thought the rumor of Boba Fett being a woman was true and that the Solo movie solidified the rumor by having Qira take the office ship with the Mandalorian armor in it. so that would make Boba Fett a former lover of Han's and that's why they have it in for Han so bad.

  • @APlusMorphinominal

We still have a "Lando" series if I'm not mistaken. So I think there is a chance some of the Solo characters pop up or continue their story in some way in a Lando series being led by Donald Glover. May not be a Solo 2 movie but I think this is a good opportunity for those character.

    • @rowdystaudi

With the latest success of Avatar 2 and a few MCU movies, Lucasfilm must be feeling mortified. Once king of Trilogy, Star Wars movies are no more. All they got are tv shows and cartoons, very sad.

    • @pauladdae3130

I think they have no sound plan over at Lucasfilm. The Gilroys and Filoni/Favreau should be at the creative helm of movies and the overall plan and reset. So much they could explore but they seem bereft of ideas there. Its quite simple really, but yes they will get left behind. Andor, Rogue One and the Mandalorian so far have only had solid writing in live action. Obi Wan and Boba and the waste ST were disappointing.

Kristain is thinking too much inside the box. of course there probably isnt going to be a Solo 2 movie, but a series of sorts or spin off is likely the direction it would go. the #makesolohappen movement is not just about a movie bro! obviously there is not going to be a Lando show now (that is about as alive as the Taika project), so lets tell some of the stories from that movie in a series!

I really like Bad Batch. But I agree I was hoping right off the bat we would get away from the “adventure of the week” angle. That being said, I think we are jumping the gun on criticizing this show too much. All the SW animated shows start out with a lot of little character development details early on and expand after that. And for that reason, when the stuff with weight finally happens we are invested in the characters. By the end of this season I think we may be singing a different tune.

I like The Bad Batch, not as much as Clone Wars or Rebels though. What I really enjoy most about it is how the explores the immediate aftermath of the Empire taking over and the lore that it establishes. I don't totally mind the adventure of the week thing, but it would be nice if they at least had a long term goal. They're just kinda floating around doing random stuff right now. Hoping they figure out what their purpose is eventually.

Great episode and deep-dive into current and future SW.
I love Bad Batch, the tone and style feels more Clone Wars-ish so more adult and serious, less kiddy like Rebels. Though I agree it was a bit much with all those missions to pay back their debt with that underworld boss. I hope they have a 3rd season because it’s the last existing SW show that feels pre-Disney.
I was super hopeful about next SW movie when I read Lindeloff was gonna write it a week ago. That one season Watchmen show he did was amazing. But now that you said the Ms Marvel Director will be directing, i know it’s gonna be geared towards a 12 year old audience and have that kiddy / Disney Channel show kinda feel, like Wizards of Waverly Place set in space with a woke agenda. Lindeloff won’t get to have full creative control when writing this one. If I were Lindeloff i wouldn’t touch this with a 10 ft pole, it could ruin his reputation.

Alden was great as Han Solo. I do not want to see any more creepy Deep Fake.

Cant honestly say i want anything from the sequel trilogy in the same respect on your opinion about solo. Im glad for all the fans of the sequels. But really they need to stay far away from that.

The movement is for a continuation of solo story beats not necessarily a solo 2 movie.

If the next SW movie is in the sequel timeline it's going to be a disaster. Not interested.

Hard to get too excited given the messes the Disney trilogy created. Plus lindeloff is an abrams guy.

Star Wars can’t even get an experienced film director now. That’s how toxic the fan base is. No one wants to risk a successful career with what their “fans” do to any director who makes a creative decision they don’t like. So they are stuck with upcoming TV directors.

I like Bad Batch well enough, but for me it scratches my Star Wars itch until the next big show comes out.

Lindelof's movie sounds like garb-garb already. "Looking to cast diverse in the lead role." *fart noise. JUST CAST THE BEST ACTOR FOR THE JOB! Or better yet, make the lead character an alien or wompa rat or some shit. When you are intentionally cutting out a piece of this salad bowl we are living in, you end up with someone like Rey. A wooden board with zero connection to the audience. Do you know why there's been no lore for Finn, Rey, or Poe after the sequel trilogy? Because they're dumpster juice characters. People don't care. After the original trilogy ended, people were dying of THIRST to see what happened next! Cast the most talented actor regardless of race/sex and move on from there.

Why can’t you criticize Deborah chow? The directing was 100 times worse than the writing. The worst moments were the directing not writing.

I love Prometheus. There is alot of deep thought went into that. I am open to giving any new movie a fair shake. I grew up with the OT, but I like the prequels and the sequels. I get that they aren't perfect but I enjoy them. So I am excited to see what Damon Lindelof does.
