No he is a terrible judge with a big ego he has no chance in hell if ever being a judge on strictly they basically kicked him out he was always rude to the judges he can't take criticism he is a fake
James always stuck up for the pro dancers and the celebrities, he always said it, how it was when he was on the show. I love how down to earth he was then, and I love it now. Thanks for the podcast you’re doing a brilliant job.
I think the annoying thing with movie week is the constant repetition of certain movies, like The Sound of Music, Cabaret and Grease, which, for those who've watched previous years, can become so boring. They even did an Encanto group routine a year or 2 ago, so to see it repeated on saturday was boring. There are SO many movies they could use as inspiration, but they don't.
I agree with everything except Angela & Carlos! I love their partnership so much! Completely agree about Shirley's 10. Couldn't believe it. Absolutely bonkers. What a waste of the FIRST 10, when it should've awarded to a couple more deserving of it later in the competition. I think Shirley's judging/scoring has been very inconsistent this season and although I do like her, I think it's time for a new head judge!
Me and m partner looked at each and I was like what? That was never a ten, I think Shirley did it because she was criticised for being hard on him last week. You can’t give people high scores to make them like you, bit silly. She knows it wasn’t a ten, she’s not stupid.
I found Eddie's CC routine quite "same old same old" really. Another one of those semi-street numbers that have cluttered up Strictly since CC was introduced. In recent years, the balance between novices and semi-dancers has shifted towards the latter. Someone like Nikita would have survived another couple of weeks 10 years ago, as there would have been a couple of no hopers to shift first, the sort of celeb who basically stands still while their professional partner dances around them 😁
Miss James and Ola on SCD so great to see them here. James has and always will continue to be brutally honest , some people struggle with that. I personally don't, what's the point of not listening to constructive criticism , surely it helps you progress, improve, and learn. I am certainly not a professional, or trained dancer, but love to watch dancing, and as a viewer having watched the show since its inception, I feel even I can now tell the difference between a good and not so good performance, just by seriously listening, and watching. I agreed with 95% of James summations , but generally feel the best dancer doesn"t always win.😢 However its a great show, and never fails to entertain.❤
No they didn’t deserve that high mark , I find it so difficult as it is a totally different type of dancing to ballroom or Latin . But I am so pleased that James Jordan is doing these reviews ,he has always been honest with his critique ( that’s what got him in trouble when he was on the show ) I find it very difficult to watch Jody Cundy after knowing that he was dancing with a painful leg , brave to Cary on but he really doesn’t have anything to prove ,he can dance but every leap or stamp of his foot makes me cringe .
She was a good student and had the performance/ acting aspect that helped her. However, she wasn't the best dancer that year. The public loved her regardless; the partnership worked wonders. That's what you need to get the trophy.👍
Carlos is an extraordinary dancer and performer and Angela did that dance amazingly! and that is a masterpiece of a Fosse choreography! Not many people could do that!
I think perhaps with Angela and Carlos, we haven't really seen a strong romantic dance that shows any kind of chemistry beyond friendship. I think on the surface, it's a struggle to imagine them as a couple. Also, Carlos naturally isn't the most experienced English speaker, so I think sometimes his personality doesn't shine through. The fact that he's coupled up with a woman who is so eloquently and clearly spoken with her English, means they don't always bounce off each other strongly in the interviews. You can definitely see they get on and have a laugh, but it's not always strong to see.
From a dance teacher, I actually appreciated Kai & Angela’s Foxtrot because they actually showed what a Quickstep should look like rather than everyone coming out scatter chasse’ing across the entire floor! That’s my main pet peeve on Strictly! Should never have been a 10. I think everyone can agree on that one… Ellie should’ve been all 9s, if they can give Eddie a 10 then I think she should’ve got 10’s🤣 But 9 is good! Bobby did a great job only thing that bugged me what his back to front hip action on his voltas but he gave it a proper good go so can over look it! But all 8’s probably about right😊 All in all, music choices I don’t think have been too bad in my opinion, just Angela’s was a bit odd but for movie week all the good ones have probably been done already😅 that’s the issue!
just fell on this today, was sceptacle but I’m ironing so thought i would watch it! I loved it! what a great discussion! i agreed with most of what was said! I am a huge fan of strictly! It is an awesome programme! I do miss some of our old favourites though!!! maybe one time Ola and Jordan could give us a twirl for old times sake!!
Hello! just found this so as a strictly fan was very happy to check it. Great to see you James and Ola in such a good form and meet your lovely daughter, she has the best of both ❣ Do agree with most of what you guys have said. I thought it as only me who thought about the show's production for movie week quite school show dance like, for instance in comparison with the pros Barbie movie performance. Can't stand when judges on each others' comments. They just look like children winding up each other, that's why I loved Darcy Bussell, she was so polite, yet fun. It feels like most times Greg is the only one telling the truth, apart from when he has a silly unjustified tantrum. I think it is getting noticed and annoying the public the recurring unreasonable scores. Favourite so far is Krishnan, love the man! I have to say I'm warming a lot towards Nikita the pro, how mature is this young man for his age? the respect with how he treats his partner is admirable, endearing. I'll keep checking these vids, thanks guys!
I think Shirley made a mistake with her paddle on Saturday night she definitely got mixed up with Angela Scanlon's who was worthy of a 10 certainly not Eddie it was very mediocre I would have given Ellie a 9 for her dance and an 8 for Amanda's
I agree with all - though I do think Layton over attacks, he’s a show dancer not a ballroom dancer, and it’s shows. I think Bobby isn’t that great technically wise then judges give him credit for. I think Dianne made mistakes on that dance too but it’s never been mentioned.
Great critique and agree with the comments, don’t know why you don’t love Angela and Carlos, I think they are a fantastic pairing and are among my favourite couples ❤
I liked watching Leyton dance but this week I felt like he came across like he knew best. Like he knew what he was doing didn’t need telling yet obviously what Nikita had been telling him went in one ear or the other. I agreed with James that he needs to listen & learn cos he’s good but coming across a know it all. Jeez soz was long opinion lol
I think he’s going to struggle with the slower dances in general.. I think this is going to be consistent for him. He’s shown a few times already that he has a bit of an ego. And I think he’s really going to struggle with following all the rules and the lack of freedom/spontaneity in Ballroom. The Latin dances are fast, energetic and more expressive which suits his natural personality.
Just watched today, I totally agree with the majority of the remarks and comments that James made on the recent show. I don’t think about ‘liking’ a couple. It’s all about the professionals having a connection through dancing and Giovanni is a real pro. I think social media critics can have such a negative effect on people and how they vote
Some couples do that one dance and completely change my opinion of them. Well James just did the same for me. I could never take to him, he always seemed quietly angry on Strictly but today, in this one video, I've changed my opinion of him. :)
I’m not a fan of the themed weeks. Too often they are trying to shoehorn the dance to fit the theme rather than matching the two together. I also dislike couples choice. There doesn’t seem to be any technique to judge against and the only rule seems to be you have to look cool. I’ve always thought that if they want to persist with CC then put them all on the same week (although I’d find that so boring) but at least they would be judged fairly. You can’t compare CC with a samba or foxtrot!
The problem is the public back their favourite pro dancer no matter who they dance with. Yes the judges marking was all over the place but I still thought Angela and Carlos were the best even though I hated the Fosse dance routine but they accomplished it to the highest standard.
Hmmmm - I can't entirely agree with that. Some pros are very popular: Dianne, Gio, and Gorka, to name a few. However, the public vote for the partnership - Voters are invested in the partnership... If a celeb is not known like Nikita K and is an absolute novice in regards to dancing, it makes it super difficult for the voters to get behind her even with a favourite pro ... when 80% of the contestants are far superior with their dancing already (some level of dancing). As for Angela S, she will make the final with Carlos - she is very good, but won't win. Bobby and Dianne are the ones to beat - Public favourites. The Final: Bobby Nigel Angela S Layton
I do think the public make a connection too but I feel like the non dancers have been given a tough ride this year with either the dance or music then being up against so many experienced celebs. Is a shame there isn’t more of a level playing field
In which you move from the bottom down. Straight legs and arms. We also were told to leave room for the holy spirit when dancing with a partner. Not useful unless you are irish dancing.
Angela's irish dancing exprience absolutely showed in her jive (the kicks and straight legs which Shirley commented on) and the Fosse routine last week. Any dance experience will give you body awareness, musicality and an ability to pick up choreo quickly so it is definitely useful. No type of dancec exsists in a vacuum. They ALL involve body awareness, tone, core strength, musicality and performance.
Totally agree Eddie's dance was not a 10. I loved Bobby's samba and Angela's Charleston. Amanda was good but just not a fan of the rumba generally!! Love Krishnan's personality and would love to see him progress through the competition if he improves technique. Ellie's encanto dance very good too.
Totally agree with James about the 10 😮 in my opinion the first 10 should always go to a ballroom or Latin dance as isn’t that what the competition is about ! Save couples choices for the show dance .
I agree completely that Eddie and Karen no way deserved a 10..I gave him a 6 as it wasn't in sync and I felt it was a copy of Bill Bailey's moves although the song was different..Ellie and Amanda were the best if the night..I also have just not clicked with Angela and Carlos..there just doesn't seem a connection somehow..
Loved your comments James but I would have given Krishnan an 8 because he had improved so much and was so entertaining, no way did Eddie deserve a10 and the street dances are always 'samie' , I agree the couples choice should be dropped then there could be more Argentine Tangos.
I'm not warming to Angela and Carlos either... really don't know why... Good point about a dance capturing the heart, I haven't had that yet. Amanda on the other hand, I get.
In all honesty the judging and score inconsistency from couple to couple for the last few years has been so rampant I wonder why have judges at all just let the public decide who goes through the vote for their favorite and it seems the judges do too.
I think the reason Craig gave Amanda and Giovanni a 6 was because he is very concerned with interpretation, and only he and I seem to have listened to the words of the song! The steps were performed with excellence, but I found the dance unwatchable because it didn’t make any sense! ‘Out of Reach’ is an intensely melancholy reflection upon unrequited love. The only way that a rumba could have worked with this lyric was an interpretation of wishful thinking, which would have been difficult to pull off, and a terrible vacuous smile from Amanda at the beginning and a slightly comedic fall into bed together at the end didn’t hack it. Love them both but, in this, ghastly!
Oh James. Adorable, superb feedback so fair and knowledgeable. Loved this. Just one thing, you don’t need to talk so loud 🤣🤣🤣🤣 ❤️🌹 PS. James for the Judges panel or It Takes 2 please .
Watching the couples choices this year makes me sure that most of the professionals and all the Judges (maybe except for Craig) don't know what Hip Hop technique actually looks like. Most of these "Street Commercial" dances are just Street styled Jazz dances.
I think Layton’s going to consistently struggle with the slower dances in general.. He’s already shown a few times that he has a bit of an ego. And I think he’s really going to struggle with all the rules and the lack of freedom/spontaneity in Ballroom. The Latin dances are fast, energetic and more expressive which suits his natural personality.
I think Leyton struggles in hold. He's a strong dancer and seems to be fighting Nikita all the way through and keeps trying to lead when he is dancing the ladies part can't have both trying to lead.
James is dead on about Bobby, I like him but people were all over social media saying that should’ve been a 10 and it wasn’t that great. He was so goofy, and he’s still clumsy and awkward when he dances - he was trying so hard to be sexy with his hips that it made me cringe and the routine itself was fairly simple. I would’ve given him a 7 as well.
My gripe of movie week is the fact so many are what should be musical week songs. Grease, Cabaret, Sound of Music. There’s an array of musical scores out there but they routinely opt for songs which should be musical week. The scoring was ridiculous in my opinion. I still think they go high far too soon in most recent series.
well done James,,i thought that as Nigel and Katya danced first that he would be in the bottom 2,,kinda forgotten about as the music and costumes weren't great,,i do like him though, agree that Zara has potential and agree Eddie although ok,was over marked by Shirley
Same here I am not warming to this couple. I also thought the judges were all over the place with their scores. Not it didn't deserve a 10. I think you should be a judge.
It’s another one of my favourite the date to add you like as well I vote for these 22 I love them GRAY is doing very well love it thank you you are right these two are go
I've never been a fan of street dance either, it strikes me as not really being Strictly is about. I am also not really a fan of the Charleston although there have been some really good ones that I have enjoyed. Love Ellie and Vito, I think Vito is brilliant and he really seems to bring out the best in his partners. I'm rooting for Annabelle and Johannes because I just love them both - I missed their mistakes but then I'm not a dancer. My mum would have spotted it, she loves dancing and was very good when she was younger, but she didn't pass it on to me. I'd love to dance but I have two left feet and I think they were put on backwards! BTW, to slightly misquote from Harry Potter, Ella has her mother's eyes. 🙂 Really enjoyed your critique, but you'll never make it onto the show as a judge because you're too straight and honest - and they already have Craig for that. A ten from you would mean as much as one from him though.
James is right about Amanda being Underscored. How could you give that Rumba a 6.🤔
😮😮😮😮 exactly how just 6 on this Rumba
C’mon! It’s worth more than a 6 for the splits alone!!!!!!
Can we please have James Jordan on the strictly panel love his analysis it's so good and correct in his ways
Really glad James is making it clear how non-dancers will look even if they are working.
Really enjoyed this guys. Why isn’t James a judge on the panel? He speaks the truth and then explains why. Loved it!
James was always one of my favorite dancers on the show and I love hearing his opinions because I agree with a lot of it.

I think Shirley's judging/scoring has been very inconsistent this season and although I do like her, I think it's time for a new head judge!
Yes I agree head judge giving a 10 for a dance that wasn't in sync for one in a dance that really has to be to be perfect!
I love James Jordan’s critique. He’s always honest
Me and m partner looked at each and I was like what? That was never a ten, I think Shirley did it because she was criticised for being hard on him last week. You can’t give people high scores to make them like you, bit silly. She knows it wasn’t a ten, she’s not stupid.

James was so right about Annabelle and Johannes. I saw all the mistakes, yet not a mention from the judges. Scoring all over the shop
Eddie and Karen did not deserve a 10.
😮😮😮😮 exactly 10 such rubbish 😊
Nope, they didn’t, a seven, tops
Agree
Saw dance online
Scores are such a joke
Absolutely, that dance did not deserve a 10. What planet was she on.
Come back James. We miss you on Strictly
Fact
I love your feedback, I would absolutely love if you were on the judging panel, because you tell it how it is.❤
That’s why rose was so good she just followed giovannis body movements
She was a good student and had the performance/ acting aspect that helped her. However, she wasn't the best dancer that year. The public loved her regardless; the partnership worked wonders. That's what you need to get the trophy.👍
I’ve never liked the Couple’s Choice dances, and don’t think the judges know how to score them. Eddie and Karen did not deserve a ten!
The only Couple’s Choice I’ve loved was Bill Bailey’s
I have always loved James and Ola Jordan. Love his analysis . Trust them.
If the "rumours" are true?...James should take over from Craig....
I agree with Ola. Amanda for my fav.
so glad to hear james’ commentary again this year, was great on twt last year.
Love hearing James opinion. Agree 90 per cent of the time. Would love him to be a judge 👏👏
I’m with you on everything so far except for Angela and Carlos. I think they are so well suited and have the same high energy. I love them.
I think everyone can agree on that one…
Ellie should’ve been all 9s, if they can give Eddie a 10 then I think she should’ve got 10’s🤣 But 9 is good!
Bobby did a great job only thing that bugged me what his back to front hip action on his voltas but he gave it a proper good go so can over look it! But all 8’s probably about right😊
All in all, music choices I don’t think have been too bad in my opinion, just Angela’s was a bit odd but for movie week all the good ones have probably been done already😅 that’s the issue!
Can I just say I hated the group Barbie dance, Dianne's wig was so stupid, looked like it would fall off.
Totally agree it was stupid tacky and dire
I agree trashy
To be honest I never thought much of the earlier one either@@paulmason6474
If you're doing a street dance and hoping to get a 10, watch Bill and Oti's. It was probably a 9 for me but it was AMAZING
just fell on this today, was sceptacle but I’m ironing so thought i would watch it!
I loved it! what a great discussion! i agreed with most of what was said!
I am a huge fan of strictly! It is an awesome programme! I do miss some of our old favourites though!!! maybe one time Ola and Jordan could give us a twirl for old times sake!!
Funnily enough I said the same thing that Shirley reached for the wrong paddle.
Hello! just found this so as a strictly fan was very happy to check it. Great to see you James and Ola in such a good form and meet your lovely daughter, she has the best of both ❣
Do agree with most of what you guys have said.

And the music has always played a huge part in every dance,
Nikita’s face is brilliant at the 10
I agree with all - though I do think Layton over attacks, he’s a show dancer not a ballroom dancer, and it’s shows. I think Bobby isn’t that great technically wise then judges give him credit for. I think Dianne made mistakes on that dance too but it’s never been mentioned.
I’m loving this James is so honest ❤️🏴🏴🏴
Aww so lovely to see your family. I agree it was not worth a 10.
James you need to take a seat on the judges panel.
Great critique and agree with the comments, don’t know why you don’t love Angela and Carlos, I think they are a fantastic pairing and are among my favourite couples ❤
I don't like Carlos because he is a Chinese boy but Angela is great
I really love to listen to James comments and critique = agree with others he would be a great judge. Really fair and to the point.
Layton is incredible but not this week,he wasn’t soft enough.Didn’t work for me🤷🏼♀️
I liked watching Leyton dance but this week I felt like he came across like he knew best. Like he knew what he was doing didn’t need telling yet obviously what Nikita had been telling him went in one ear or the other. That Layton is much too good its not a fair contest @@chellesummer8581
Nah, loving Angela & Carlos, loved the music & routine aswell.
According to you, who are the professionals that every year get the best productions, music, and dances in movie week? Very curious to know....
Angela toured with a professional irish dance company when she was younger.
James for judge…. Fully agree with him 10 should never be in week 3..
Angela and Carlos are great!
James I love your honest feedback ❤
What exactly are the rules for couples choice and is it a judgeable dance . it seems like anything goes
NO rules - Hence the ridiculous scoring
I am with you James, Ellie and Carlos were more deserving of '10'.
@Carol-or9jl Ellie is dancing with Vito its Angela Scanlon thats dancing with Carlos.
Eddie and Karen was never a 10
Totally agree Eddie's dance was not a 10. I loved Bobby's samba and Angela's Charleston. Amanda was good but just not a fan of the rumba generally!! Love Krishnan's personality and would love to see him progress through the competition if he improves technique. Ellie's encanto dance very good too.
Totally agree Eddie and Karen did not deserve a 10 it was good but not great.
Totally agree with James about the 10 😮 in my opinion the first 10 should always go to a ballroom or Latin dance as isn’t that what the competition is about ! Save couples choices for the show dance .

Loved your comments James but I would have given Krishnan an 8 because he had improved so much and was so entertaining, no way did Eddie deserve a10 and the street dances are always 'samie' , I agree the couples choice should be dropped then there could be more Argentine Tangos.
Totally agree with your judging james
No way worthy of a ten paddle show and couldn’t agree more, the marking was all over the place.
Agree Ellie & Vito were fabulous, & think Shirley over marked Eddie like she often does with a gyrating man!!!! 😂
I wish James was one of the judges!
On ITT, it should be you in choreography corner not Joanne Clifton, she never gives any real criticism. She's nicey nice.
Love Angela & Carlos! I think Amanda & Gio undermarked. Bottom 2 next week - Annabel & Jody.. Zara has been improving week on week!
i agree that Zara is improving
Oh James. Adorable, superb feedback so fair and knowledgeable. Loved this. Just one thing, you don’t need to talk so loud 🤣🤣🤣🤣 ❤️🌹
PS. James for the Judges panel or It Takes 2 please .
Chrishnan was my favourite - non dancer and entertaining
agree with you about Angela and Carlos
I honestly was pissed off by the ten! And I agree with James that I am kind of over the couple's choice.
Didn't think it was a 10.
I was baffled too . Didn't deserve a ten
Ellie and Vito my faves ❤
My gripe of movie week is the fact so many are what should be musical week songs. Grease, Cabaret, Sound of Music. There’s an array of musical scores out there but they routinely opt for songs which should be musical week. The scoring was ridiculous in my opinion. I still think they go high far too soon in most recent series.
I like Eddie and not fussed that he got a ten 😜. Ellie should have topped the leader board though,
Yea I agree with what you was saying. I didn't think Karen and Eddie deserved a 10 I enjoyed the dance but it wasn't on point for a 10
well done James,,i thought that as Nigel and Katya danced first that he would be in the bottom 2,,kinda forgotten about as the music and costumes weren't great,,i do like him though, agree that Zara has potential and agree Eddie although ok,was over marked by Shirley
agree about Gio and Amanda
Gio was very good with Anton in their music show. Think he will go soon
You just know they were basically told not to give Layton the first 10 because there would have been backlash
Karen and Eddie … No way a 10, couldn’t believe my eyes !
I believe Bobby’s costume ruined their performance
Annabelle is gorgeous
As a non dancer I don’t know why but I found Bobbys dance awkward and although he was putting everything into it it just didn’t do it for me
Same here I am not warming to this couple. I also thought the judges were all over the place with their scores. Not it didn't deserve a 10. I think you should be a judge.
I think Shirley did a big fat one before giving that 10
I think in the theme weeks the judges judge each routine as a package (dance, music, costume), rather than only on 5hr dance.
It’s another one of my favourite the date to add you like as well I vote for these 22 I love them GRAY is doing very well love it thank you you are right these two are go
Future judge and you need to be on ITT!👏👏👏
A want a glass of whatever Shirley is drinking LOL
It was not worth a 10!
In fact I didn't like it at all
I've never been a fan of street dance either, it strikes me as not really being Strictly is about.
Eddie and Karen overmatked. Ellie and Vito undermarked consistently.
