Bobbie Griffin is definitely intended to be Batgirl, and the obscured hero is Superman. In the first scene we see Wesley's father killing who is essentially Batman and says he also got his partner with the magic ring (Green Lantern). The entire cast of Wanted was pretty much based on DC villains already so it was only fitting that the heroes were DC analogues as well

I hope at some point he does a series showing that 1986 superhero purge. I doubt he will as he made some recent tweets about not moving backwards, but I have such a soft spot for Wanted that I’d love to see some prequel stuff, especially with J G Jones back on art.

You’re right wanted’s villains are the true to life versions. The DC comic irritations are subconscious memories of a better time. Example clayface is really shithead being remembered incorrectly.

1986 being the hero purge was the year comics lost their innocence and the Dark Knight Returns and Watchmen came out this year. Just an idea.

I was familiar with mark Millars film adaptions and had read nemesis and wanted to know more. I crushed through your 9 part series and made and extensive reading list. Thank you for being a legend and breaking down your thoughts whilst being honest and not stumbling through with spoilers riddled in with your videos. Subbed!

Happy to help! And thank you for watching all the vids, mate. I really appreciate it :) There's a few more Millar vids to come.

The Reborn ending made my jaw drop. He somehow crammed it all in mostly but it didn’t feel overstuffed. Definitely worth the read through and re read through of the older stuff.

Hey man, thank you :) That really means a lot. I had quite a gap in making videos for a while, but putting together the Millarworld stuff last year was a lot of fun. Really glad you enjoyed them. More to come!!

Yes, that was an awesome review and insight. I’m new to the Millerverse, so I liked some of the info you offered! The art was outstanding!!! I never got bored with any of the stories.

Dang, Bobbie Griffen being an alternate future timeline Hit Girl would've been crazy. No, I think she was just a stand-in for Batgirl Barbara Gordon of the Millarworld universe.

I heard Wanted first started out as Mark Millar's idea for a DC comic about a secret society of supervillains, and most of the characters in Wanted are DC Villain analogues. Mr. Rictus is probably the Joker, S-head is like Clayface, Fox is like Catwoman, Sucker is like Parasite, Doll-Master is like Toy Man.

Yes, I had heard the same. I also heard he tried to re-tool it as a Captain America story at one point. I have notes to make a separate video on it if I ever get time.

I was also hoping Simon from Superior would get his powers back.
He told the Fraternity assassins that he traded his SOUL for his POWERS. So when he lost his powers, he got to keep his soul. So I thought this was foreshadowing that if he DIED, he would technically get to have his POWERS back. And then, since the demons don't think people who die will get resurrected, then when he DOES return back to life, he'd get to keep the powers he got back (while he was dead).
However, with the way Hit Girl prevented all the deaths... I'm assuming that Simon never even died to begin with. And I don't think Simon shows up in the final battle either. The fictional version of Superior from an alternate dimension appears (since in Magic Order 4, it's established that fictional stories exist in their own parallel dimension), but I don't think it was Simon with his Superior powers.

I asked Millar where the new Kick-Ass (Patience) was for this, and he replied that she had retired at the end of her fourth book and kept her identity a secret so no one found out and she was able to keep out of it. I still would have liked to see her.

We could see the Patience Lee Kick-Ass in The Ambassadors volume 2 or in a Hit-Girl sequel series to Big Game.

Yeah it’s a shame she didn’t pop up, even if for a short cameo. Good of Millar to clue you in, though!

That would be a lot of fun seeing her in the Ambassadors alongside Dave.

I like the first Hit-Girl mini series (and I feel like some of it was adapted in the K-A 2 movie).
But I don't really like the other hit-girl series although the art is really solid in all of them I think.
I don't really like Hit-Girl that much, because I think she's good in small doses, and as a side character. But moreover, she seems like such a psychopath in her own comics. I get that she's been trained, but some of her feats require a suspension of disbelief.

I didn’t like the initial Hit-Girl mini from 2010 (?) but I’m curious to check out the others with varying creative teams. I think she worked wonders in Big Game though.

I did not like that in the final issue was not even a reference to MPH,even in the end of the figth they talk where to put the super villians and lady liberty take them but in.MPH is talk that a president create a goverment division a priosion for super people

    • @MaxP_88

They were only referenced in issue four. But I guess they didn't have the pills anymore so they couldn't have a part in the final fight

I was gutted too that they didn’t get a bigger nod.

MPH was so good, I would have liked to have seen more of them. Didn’t they have a single pill left in the end? I’d love a sequel series too. I feel it’s one of the more slept on Millarworld books.

Imagine thinking millar put even the most infinitesimal amount of thought into his work let alone that level of creativity &detail u jist suggested?? 😂😂😂
Tying his fictional pastiche WANTED heroes back into it Jupiter's L wouldve been GENIUS..
he couldve even tightened up all Jupiter Ls holes &(many) inadequacies & inconsistencies like he attempted (&failed to do) with NEMESIS..
Another brilliant approach wouldve been using this villain wipe concept to explain why Jupiters L was so vague disjointed derivative and fever dream like..
Sheldon couldve been his millarworld Superman Hutch his Batman etc &u could just readjust everyone else to fit the profiles as appropriate.. coalescing everything into one cohesive universe.... it wouldve slotted RIGHT IN as WANTED left things just vague enough that Union of Justice couldve taken their place as THAT group of heroes just fine..
But yeh no.. bobbie griffin is just some random bargirl proxy with no real significance to the story whatsoever..
Cause millar doesnt brilliant or well thought out ideas he just shoots from the hip &hopes the good will residue from the KICK ASS and WANTED movies (both of which he played very little part on developing) will carry him through to more sales
Except hes running out of good will, most fans cant stand his hollow vapid dialogue/characterisations that havent changed or improved in 20+ years
All he does is "kewllll" bluesky elevator pitches with the same exact edgelordy endings single time (majority of them stolen from morrisons lost scrapbook if industry scuttlebutt is to be beleived)
With his only perceivable skill being how he somehow keeps convincing worldclass artists to draw his samey mediocre nonsense
