    "Billy...I'm terrible sorry."
    Hoss was a good guy, and felt remorse, but he wasn't very smart. What was he thinking bringing the corpse of Billy's father to the Ponderosa?

  • @carolshoemaker4681
    @carolshoemaker4681 9 лет назад +11

    I was thinking that too, 'healthy' that Hoss should have taken the body to the ranch but sooner or later he would have explained to Billy what happened. By the way, Dan Block had four children, twin girls and two boys. Everyone's name began with a D, including his wife, Dolphia.

      *Hoss only lost round one........but Hoss won round two!!!........But the most important victory wasn't that fight...it was how Hoss earned Billy's trust, friendship and respect again...so much so that the episode ends with Hoss and his friend Billy walking hand in hand as they were headed back to the Ponderosa.*

      TailersFromHell. You are spot on. Inconsistencies are rampant throughout the series. Not just in dialogue but also storylines. I think it’s because Dortort bought scripts from independent scriptwriters who probably did not hv the vested intimacy with the story and characters. The credits show different scriptwriters for episodes altho some wrote more than once. I read that Bonanza had to almost go on a hiatus for awhile as he ran out of scripts. Gunsmoke, at least, had a Head Writer.

    • @christian_person5058
      @christian_person5058 4 года назад

      healthyamerican it was about being honorable and facing the truth, no matter how much it hurt. Hiding the fact that he killed the boys father would have been cowardly and deceitful! It’s called having morals, which some people today are clueless about. Hoss did the right thing by letting the boy know he killed him in self defense. If someone draws a gun on you, you have to defend yourself!
