Oh man that crossplane twin is just as intoxicating to listen to as my inline four!

Great bike! When I was deciding which bike to buy, CB650R was the one I also wanted. But the XSR fitted more on what I wanted in general on my first bike so I went for her. But the CB 4 in-line is really an amazing and beautiful engine. I can't wait to add one of those to the collection..👀

@@wheelsontheroam5210 I trained on an MT-07 and was looking in that general direction, XSR too, but when a pair of 650Rs became available at my local stealership that was that, I just had to have one.
I really love the look of the XSR as well, it's a proper modern classic. If they were side by side in the showroom I'd have had some trouble choosing.
And the roar of that cp2... Oh man, opening up in 2nd up a slip road (joining the motorway) I had to hold on for dear life! You don't get quite the same kick up the arse from the inline 4, not until you're nearer the top end, and at that point your biggest worry is whether there's a cop with a radar gun around the corner 🤣
I'm assuming the XSR700 engine and gearbox are the same (and tuned the same) as in the MT-07. In comparison the 650R feels quite mellow at lower rpm (3-5k), very forgiving of a shaky throttle hand. You have to wring it out to feel its raw power and by that point you're already going pretty fast. The gears are long and the ratios are fairly close. Sometimes I miss how twitchy the CP2 is... sometimes I don't 😁

@@233kosta Yes its true, I also had that in thought when I was choosing, the CB650R is very fast, but I wanted a more brute and torqui engine, that whenever I pulled the throttle the bike would pull me to ahah. But they are 2 very different bikes, and each have its best and worst sides :) And yes I do think they have the same configurations.
