  • Learn how to quickly change your Illustrator artboard color using two different methods. In the first method you will change the background color of every single artboard in your documents, while the second method will show you how to change the color of only one artboard at a time.
    It is always easy to change your artboard color back to its original color, so do not worry about these settings being permanent.
    You will learn how to use:
    - Layers
    - Illustrator preferences

    Thanks! At first this didn't seem to be working for me, but for whatever reason, the document background color doesn't refresh until I change the zoom level. So after making the change in Document Setup, I zoom in and then out again to get the correct color to display. I hope that helps if anyone is having trouble with it.

    • @tom_something
      @tom_something 3 года назад +2

      @@wardenwei4653 Good question. I did a test just now. I changed from the default settings to a simulated color background, and then without zooming in or out, I saved the file, closed it, and re-opened it. The colored background appeared right away. So I guess technically it _is_ applied right when you change the settings, but the part of the software responsible for updating the background doesn't pay attention at that moment.

    Unfortunately, this method doesn't work in new versions of Illustrator. And the second method is impractical if you're exporting artboards as you have to go in and start hiding things.

    Hi, how can I lock the art board colour that I set so that every time I start new project it remains to new colour?

    • @IlliTutorials
      @IlliTutorials  3 года назад

      Hi, using the second method you can set your new artboard color as a rectangle and save it as a template file. Then always open your project with that template. Unfortunately, that's the only way to do it.

      Unfortunately not; you can use RGB or HSL. You could always convert your CMYK to HSL and then use those values though.
