Clapton is the only guitarist I ever heard that came closest to nailing Hendrix's sound in that performance. You also need to listen to Cream at the Royal Albert Hall... A Firebird really is the most utterly ridiculous, brilliant guitar. Amazing sound from those mini humbuckers and looks, well like the strat looked in 1954.
