Joe Bonamassa with Rock Candy Funk Party performing an Awesome version of "The Thrill is Gone" at the Baked Potato on April 14, 2011 Great gig!!
The band is Rock Candy Funk Party

Joe Bonamassa on guitar

I am a 73 year old widow who grew up on rock and roll. Went into major depression after husbands death. Found Joe’s version of “Midnight Blues”. From then on my go to music is anything by him and his wonderful guitar . Strange how the Blues got me out of the blues! Love his playing!! Thanks for videos
We're glad to hear you're out of the blues. I'd love to hear the particular version you're talking about. Do you have a link?
@@edwardcabras here is one link ruclips.net/video/8z74lr3txUk/видео.html
Only two years too late... I just want to add, there are two peep who unequivocally top my "Suicide Prevention Playlist" - Carlos Santana and Anoushka Shankar. Music has been up there with oxygen and water on my necessities list. This is way fine, there's gems all OVER if you keep open. I mean, I love Mahavishnu, and I love Bananarama. And every summer, JOHN MAYER does this amazing Dead Jerry-morph = go figure!
Joe toured with B.B. since he was an 11 years old kid, this is one hell of a tribute to the master that tought him the trade.
no he did not, that is fake news
thats right!!!!!!
This is one of those videos that you keeping coming back every now and then.
I think it is awesome when a top notch recording artist is willing and able to play a small venue like this and not feel that it is beneath him. It keeps them connected with the street.
yeah! And I'm wondering how much you have to pay when Joe's doin' gigs in those small clubs?
carlolf
It cost about $25 plus two drinks :)
missmoke007
thanks for this info. (If Joe nowadays plays here in Germany with his band, you have to pay about 80€; in the 'good old days', he gave concerts fo 26 - 30€)
carlolf
Oh I know, his concerts here are now $100-$150 a ticket, but because he lives here when he is off tour, he sometimes joins in with others who are playing gigs around town.
When he is off tour at home in LA, he will sometimes sit in with friends or play with RCFP at these small venues.
That Gibson looks and plays like a dream
I wuz waitin' for Joe to play some P-90's
and this wuz the answer to me prayers!
The thrill is not gone! We have Joe Bonamassa...love him.
The greatest blues rock guitarist the whole world from one corner to the other will ever know and could ever hear. When you listen to this boy you hear the real thing. And none can master his style. Many are trying to as you read this comment, but his licks are endless, the baddest blues rock licks that have ever left the hand of any human on earth are the ones JOE THE MAN blister the blues with on his Les Paul. Boy have we ever been blessed with a legend in our generation. JOE THE MAN.
ABSOLUTELY AWESOME...I laughed,I cried, I felt in in my soul ~
one of the things i love about Joe is even when he's hanging out in the rythem he's playing with intensity ..
Grew up Mississippi delta and this boy is special
the best tone i have heard from jb
everytime i want to to listen to thrill is gone i go to this one thanks so much for the upload
My favourite is BB with Tracy Chapman
And this is why small venues are 10 times better then big concert halls
Oh to have been there. Joe at his very best. A great commemoration to BB. Love you, Joe, and missmoke007 and everyone else who makes my old age (84) not just bearable but wonderful. :Love to all, Babala
barbara Massey Hi Barbara, you're so cool! I just put up some new stuff from Joe playing with Rock Candy Funk Party last weekend~Go to my channel~they are up and running now :)
Thanks again for bringing these videos to us. More, more, more! Much love for music and to those who love it, especially the blues.

2020..and still fascinating...again and again..
That certainly would've made B.B. King proud! Great gig!
The future of the Blues is in good hands.......
JB Plays it from the heart! The reality of life set to music......The BLUES!
My main man Joe Bonamassa. Ain't nobody like him, I knew I just knew it! that he would play the best version of a BB king song, he's got BB"s ears and rhythm man, even the band is just right
he's the new King, the Thrill is back!!!!!!!
Not Hardly.
@@simbo52 ... sorry - but this was an awesome cover of the B.B. King classic.
What can we say! BB was the King, and Smokin" Joe did him justice
This is, IMO, how blues should sound like. Not a million notes. But above all - soul. Great job Joe. BB we miss you, RIP master!!
Joe baby, you must live on a glory cloud being so amazingly great with the way you can blister the blues into the soul of another human being. Joe, you are THE MAN baby, there is no other on living earth that will ever fill your shoes. You are the ultimate euphoria in the music world. Boy Joe, I have to meet you personally someday. I just have to. I want to be able to say that my hands have touched the hands of blues master Joe Bonamassa. Joe, none will ever surpass you with the blues.
In conclusion...Joe is a "complete blues journeyman."
the thrill still with us , we have got JOE AND BETH , what a treat , love it
Nice venue........small intimate Gigs are the "BEST"
He's shows are mind-blowingly good!!!
I have never seen his shows, but I would pay more to see him at one of these small venues!
This is really a wonderful vision and performance of the grate blues song written by West coast blues musician Roy Hawkins and Rick Darnell in 1951.
Sweet! Reminds me of an afternoon I spent at the WC Handy Club off Beale St in 63 watching BB , Bobby Bland and Little Junior Parker rehearse for the night session. Stone Cold Cool! Aint nothin like the the low down rotten no account blues! Cleanse the soul.
Joe has the perfect touch. This is an awesome version it might be my favorite!! ❤️🔥❤️🔥🤘🦊
Omg..sounds amazing..just one person missing...my beloved Gary Moore..
this shows Joe is a huge BB fan, it's amazing playing
REST IN PEACE "B"B"..........
Reminds me of Beale Street on a hot summer night! Doesn't get much better!!!
Here I am - 4 years later - your upload got me through some shitty times in 2012. Then I forgot about this upload.
Somehow fate has brought me back in happier times. Thank you uploader....

2020 looking to Joe B. for solace in these hard times. Loving these blues in such a small venue.
Saw this for the first time months ago & just randomly thought of that note he holds for 12 bars and how extremely badass that was, so i came back for another view. smokin joe
The more I hear this guy the more I like him.......he got soul.......with a capital S
Wow ! He milks that guitar for all it's got and then some ! Thank You Missmoke !
B.B. King was unique ! He had the softest touch of all ! RIP old man !
He loves it as much as we love him
47 seconds into it and already in love.
I was in a lousy mood, I have to do IV drips for 6 months 5 days a week, only in week two, so I found this vid of Joe, I feel so much better!
On your knees folks, this here is the new King! Sooo damn good!!
I agree !!!! The thrill is not gone in fact, it is still under my skin. JOE !!!
i need to get to some gigs like this one before i die
I LOVE that guitar.
This is beautiful.
Seen him in small venues ...bigger venues ...Still the man .
Man I wish this club had existed back in the 70-80's when I lived in Sherman Oaks. Great shows. Recognized the décor from watching Jeff Kollman and Cosmosquad. Nice version of a BB king great
The best Bonamassa ever!!!
I saw Joe in Rockford Illinois back in April of this year and he was awesome. I love his music.

So True Richard~for anyone who has not been to a Bonamassa Concert~GO!!! He is a fantastic performer!!! What a show he puts on and it's all talent~no pyrotechnics, choreographed dancers~Just true musicianship!!
Saw him on youtiube doing Royal Albert hall, thought boring blues player.Nothing like it.He plays his own new blues stuff, not always the usual, superb set,who attended there got their moneys worth.Got to go to one of his shows.

Okay yeah Joe you're a badass great use of Dynamics
Thank you Miss Moke! I want to go to the BP someday!
I've heard Bonamassa sing many times before, and I've always loved him, but this has to be one his best shows.
missmoke007. Thank you for this spectacular version of BB King's hit.!!!!
Thank You for putting this up here for us...Rev. Muddy
Missmoke 007 you were SOOO lucky watching this live !
Thank you very much for sharing this incredible gig !
You're more than welcome George~I love to share these~Check out the other gigs of Joe's I've posted~
Somehow luck seems to fall short. It feels more like dogged determination on your part, missmoke007, to be present at so many fabulous shows at so many great venues
Joe bonamassa est un génie.....j'adore
One of Joe's best versions. Each one is special, but this really got to me!
Amazing - hard to describe how good this performance is - Joe B - The Great Master!
Sheer blues, nothing but and beyond my greatest expectations. Wow. I never heard a better sound out of a gold top and I've heard a lot of 'em.
It’s not a gold top. Maybe you haven’t heard as many as you think.
❤JB YOU PLAY YOUR HEART OUT AND LOVED THAT LITTLE VIBRATO YOU DID
Joe is incredible I have seen him in person.I have been playing blues myself over 40 years and I haven't ever seen anyone yet who can best Joe on a blues duel .Garry Moore was on the same level with Joe and he was also Joes idol.Joe has said publicly he wants to play like Garry think he has made him proud !
I'd fuckin kill to be there that night! Amazing!
Дуже вдячний B.B. & Joe !
Very grateful B.B. & Joe !
this man is actually my guitar hero now hearing him play this true blues classic like this, its just filed up that little bit of respect for him, would love to see him play some old blues live, new albums incredible too btw!
As long as we have Joe, the thrill is not gone yet it's still here!!!!ctrRichard Bishop 💜💙💜💙💜💙💜!!!! Spartanburg SC)
Lovely to hear JB in these surroundings - so relaxed and down to earth. Love and blues from Denmark
gotta see this guy in concert!
Love Joe. Saw him a couple times back in the 20 teens. Always mad respect, but my favorite Joe B. was back in the long hair blue jean days. Rockpalast is one not to miss! Also, check out Tangier.
I've saw play with BB & Clapton ..BB.loves Joe..took him under his wing..Eric grinned while playing with him with pure delight..this is great by Joe..if any sames Joe don't play with passion..they don't know passion ..I've loved this song for over 35 years..never heard it played them someway ever ..even by BB which was 100s..Joe did BB broad..
Others envy Jo's pride. Chew that. This guy is so damn versatile!
1980 at the Helen Wilkes Hotel,West Palm Beach,Fl.what a performance!!!💘What we saw there was the real BB King up close and personal.
That was sweet! Really loved how they let the song breathe.
Blues boys tune + thrill is gone = that's what i'm hearing :-)
The first time I saw Joe, I was 14 y/o and he was opening for B.B. in Seattle at Hot August Nights and he not only opened for The King but he came out and played this song with The King. I am now 28 y/o and have see both of them many times, but that moment I will never forget. There is not one guitarist who can come even close to the talent JB has. Cant wait to see him grow further in his career.... This is just outstanding!
Joe is one the best guitar player for is style & feeling .
MISSMOKE007!!!!!!!! Thanks Linda....Just what I needed today............Rules!!
how can you not like this! Simply amazing. Joe is gonna be a big star
"Oh those "BLUES" Performed to Perfection 😊😎😏😇😎
That just blew me away.....Greeks love you Joe!!!!
Thanks for posting missmoke007, love ya Joe B.
Its too bad great players like this go unnoticed and are not playing big events.
So much feeling in the music. One of my favorite B.B.King tunes. It’s still very sad that the master is no longer with us. I remember watching him as a child. Just loved the emotion of his playing. Joe has that. It can’t be taught. You have it or you don’t. 😎
Thanks missmoke..................!!!
best version i've heard in years.
Nice piece, this. Thanks for posting this little gem, Linda.
Joe Bonamassa is the Real Deal this guy has beautiful tone and plays the blues so sweet he just melts my heart Don't-Stop-Joe you're killin me here...don't stop
Awesome!
Thank you Missmoke for bringing it to my attention again. Wonderful. My favourite blues song by my favourite blues musician, Joe Bonamassa. Most significant now that our BB has passed into blues heaven. Thanks, Babala
