@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE Oh btw JHB is gonna be a ghost town in December. You will not believe just how empty it gets. Hopefully you have made plans for the holidays unless you prefer that peaceful quietness. Cape Town and Durban will get packed though

Oh yes! Their first December is approaching fast 😁. I often forget that our December culture is almost a culture shock to people from other countries. They're going to be blown away 😅🎉 in a good way 😁. And then they can finally enjoy the hot weather they've been waiting for. ❤

When we are angry we dance. When we are happy we dance. When we are sad we dance. When we prepare for battle we dance. When we celebrate we dance. When we mourn we dance. When we riot we dance. We dance and sing for everything! No occasion does not have a song and dance.

Listen! Africans are fit because of our food, and culture. We walk long distances and work hard physically like its normal. We are warriors after all and we migrated from the Congo basin (bantus) we walk and walk and walk. My parents used to walk over 30ks each day to school its in our blood. 🩸

Even if you don't know the special cultural dance styles, dancing is such a part of our lives that as long as you can feel the rhythm and interpret the beat in some sort of way, people wont usually judge u or look at u funny. Let the music move and inspire you. Dont be shy 😉. Sometimes i end up dancing in the isles of grocery shops when i catch a tune i love. Cant help it. I'm just average at dancing, but it never stops feeling good to just let the music take u.
Some ppl practice a lot of formalised dance moves, some learn special moves or dances from their community or social media, some people just make it up as they go. It doesnt really matter to us how you express your style - as long as you're enjoying it. That's relatable in any culture. ❤
Oh yes, at the risk of sounding racist 😅, a lot of our darker skinned beautiful people have this amazing ability to wear full suits, warm jackets, etc in hot weather. Mind blowing. All my xhosa friends get cold very easily. A lot of them also have next to no body hair naturally, whereas i seem to have more than i actually need. Dont know how that all works - honestly dont care too much because i just appreciate how people are. But look out for it. You'll often see these lovely people wearing way more clothing than you'd expect on a hot day - like full on blazers and jackets, long jeans instead of shorts, etc. On the other hand i recently watched something that proved that layered clothes can actually be cooling, so maybe there's something to it. Does it matter? Probably not. Just interesting.

Sorry last comment on this video 😅. I don't think you can learn any of these cultural dances at like a studio or anything. Your best bet to learn a little is to ask any local that's dancing wherever to show u one or two things. Most people are more than happy to share their knowledge and the more individual skills u learn, the easier it will be for you to piece dance routines like the ones in this video together. 😉 (ie u probably won't get a whole routine all in one go - unless u have a tone of time and energy spare that day). Good luck ❤

It’s all about the fluidity of movements
It’s not about the energy but how soft you can make an intricate move…I think one of the most complicated dancers are the Skothane dancers…
you can tell who’s or who’s not a Southern African dancer by the way they move

South Africa has the best and most dances in the world . Have you seen people dance while protesting? Dance at funerals. Dance in parliament . Dance in church. We can't not dance.
South Africa is a movie. It's a series.

Dance was invented in Africa in ancient times. The dance gene is in all Africans. They dance whenever they had a feeling of joy and freedom.

In South Africa we prolly the only country that when we create a new genre of music it also means theres going to be a new dancing style that goes wit it.
example Gqom music had its own dancing style which was called Bhenga, Kwaito genre also had its dancing style called Spantsula, Amapiano genre also has its dancing style which i dont know what they call it but they dance different , now the up and coming genre of Pretoria which is Sgija or Barcardi also has its dancing style called barcardi.

Also, please understand that South African dances aren't choreographed. All these dance challenges you see online are from a random person at a party. By the time the world does a challenge, South Africa has moved on. New moves are created at every single party.

Proverbs 27: 24-27 (KJV) For riches are not for ever: and doth the crown endure to every generation?
The hay appeareth, and the tender grass sheweth itself, and herbs of the mountains are gathered.
The lambs are for thy clothing, and the goats are the price of the field.
And thou shalt have goats' milk enough for thy food, for the food of thy household, and for the maintenance for thy maidens.

These videos don't do SA justice. South Africa is a protesting dance nation. Song and dance were ways to undermine authorities during Apartheid since people couldn't be accused of violent protest if they were harmonising (Apartheid was terrible - but it gave us a South African culture which is so unique).
I am a white South African so will always feel terrible about my heritage, but this is where I was born and bred and I love this place so much.

Any praises about Black SAns provoke such responses.
What all these anti-blk SAns pundits don't know is:
Almighty God is on our side.
The more critical they are of us, the more He elevates us to global status of admiration, respect n recognition.
The world is wondering what makes us tick ✅ as every tribe, nation, race, religion or creed dance to our song
      "Jerusalem ikhaya lam."
Thats in the midst of covid pandemic n deaths. God gave a song of comfort tru Blk Sans in their own indigenous language. The world didn't care, they just danced.
We are making global waves in BRICS.
We continue to be global peacemakers in the mist of ridicule n critisizm.
      And God.says, Yes.
Here's the Rugby World Cup. I got yo back!!!
The world is amazed n still critical.
The African Americans, a minority in the US, are the most influencial people on the planet. No human being can take that way from them.
They even create a global language. Good grief!
      No capping they said.
