The singer who sang the national anthem is Zolani Mahola she used to sing in an amazing group called - Freshly Ground, do check the music out an amazing voice indeed❤

He truly is such an inspirational leader. You can see the respect his team has for him. He embodies "united we shall stand" because he has shown what unity can do and I agree is an incredible role model for all.

The sun, the food, nature, ALL the different dishes but my favorite the cultures and people. Its the best place on earth!! #proudlySA oh and the other thing is how we can find the humor in EVERYTHING!!!

Our national flag and anthem came about in a very short time because we needed to acknowledge that our country entering it's new era iof peace and reconciliation was the sum of all it's people - hence the national anthem consists of a traditional African hymn and part of the previous national anthem. The national flag itself was designed in a week by one man a few days it was always meant as an interim design for the new govt but it sort of grew on all of us. A complicated country we live in, but I would live anywhere else.

I think you have what it takes man! You are so right when you say its a tough sport, for real men. The hits these boys take match after match and be ready for another battle in as little as a week, like when they compete in the rugby world cup (ongoing at the moment), is truly astounding. And a lot of our boys have professional careers exceeding 10 years! The Boks are competing against England in the semi-finals of the 2023 Rugby World Cup on Saturday 21 October '23 at 9pm GMT+2. Its going to be a very tough encounter because England is looking good at the moment, but I have all the faith that our boys can go to the final where we will more than likely be up against New Zealand. And boy oh boy, is that going to be something. Both South Africa and New Zealand have won the trophy 3 times, more than any other teams competing, by a long shot. So all things point to a stunning final if we beat England this saturday. New Zealand is arguably the most dangerous team in the world when it comes to rugby. They are unpredictable and I have seen them win matches coming out from half time with a huge score deficit and win the match. So they can never ever be underestimated. Again thank you so much for bring a foreighner's "freshmen" perspective to the game. God bless!
@@FREEDOMCHASERSLIFE Another thing I forgot to mention, and not sure if you know this. But due to the apartheid era South Africa was banned from competing in the 1st and 2nd world cup tournaments, 1987 and 1991. Apartheid was a horrible injustice by the then governments, but the Boks were arguably at their very best during those times.
Thank you for the love and respect for our South African National Anthem. As said in the comments below, it is a prayer in 5 different South African languages, (our rainbow nation with 11 official languages). The singer leading the National Anthem is a South African singer, songwriter, actress and storyteller, Zolani Mahola, who was the lead singer in a music group called Freshly Ground.
Tears in my eyes. Just beautiful. We are truly a United nation. This lady is Zolani. She has her own band called Freshly Ground. Awesome music. Ons Hemel is blou is n ons bloed is groen. South Africa OUR LAND. 🎉🎉🎉 Most beautiful country with the best people in the world.
Zolani Mahola is amazing. She used to sing in Freshly ground. Her music is beautiful as she. Our anthem is the best anthem. Thank you for talking about it. All our households stand and sing it so proudly. We love our people, our country, and our anthem ❤ Welcome to your new home 🎉
You're seriously the coolest. Your "reactions videos" are so natural not forced and we South Africans totally vibe with how you connect with us. Black Americans and us South Africans share a similar history and struggles and you're not the only one from the States who's felt right at home here. A bunch of vloggers who moved from the US have echoed the same sentiment feeling at home in South Africa. So, no doubt this land is totally your home. Much love fam! 💙❤

There could be 10 South Africans in the entire stadium. You will hear them. No one can take away our pride as a nation. Big ups for exploring our beautiful country. Always welcome bro
The languages there is Xhosa,Sotho, Afrikaans and English....even in our churches we do sing it coz it's a big national prayer that brings us South Africans together
Thank you for showcasing our National Anthem 🇿🇦 And yes, despite some of the bad stuff we have in south Africa, it's 💯 true that when this Anthem plays, all walks of life join in and sing it. I'm proud of my country. And last but not least, CONGRATULATIONS BOKKE ON WINNING THE RUGBY WORLD CUP! 🇿🇦 We are proud of you
Thanks so much for loving our national anthem . The first part sung in the anthem is I Xhosa, the second is Sesotho Language, then Afrikaans and English. The Xhosa and Sesotho is a prayer that God bless our nation, our continent South Africa . It's really more of a prayer than a song and you emotionally get involved when you sing it because of our historical background.... thanks so much for spicing it the best you could❤ May God bless you too...
Thank you for this video, we take take something like our anthem for granted. The dude with his eyes closed is our captain, a living LEGEND. If you want to experience South Africa in full force, learrn the game of rugby, support your province and jump right into the culture. You can thank me later.
Wow listened to the background sing along at the stadium it felt like everyone was south African.. Amazing right there, there were already victory signs 4 me... Thank you for loving our country. Ur new home 😊... GOD BLESS US ALL 🎉🎉🎉
I love our national anthem as a child i grew up learning and singing it for every game and respecting it and the meaning of the words every part of it is beautiful.
It's actually a prayer for Africa as a whole... For God to bless Africa and hear our prayers, end all strife (wars) and protect us... and the Then about the beautiful land and then it motivates for us to unify as a country... It is beautiful indeed❤
She is a singer from the South African band called Freshly Grround. They rock do check them out. I have tears in my eyes watching this! I might be wron but I think they sing in Pedi, Tswana, Afrikaans and then English. Please fellow South Africans correct me if I'm wrong
The order of the languages are Xhosa, Zulu, Sesotho, Afrikaans and English. The hymn speaks to all South Africans regardless of race and also asks God to bless Africa 🥰
As a South African. Hearing our national anthem from the match again made me tear up and I immediately put my hand to my chest. When we watched this play for the match at a restaurant, it was a diverse crowd and we sang every lyric in every language as loudly and passionately as possible. You don't care if you're tone-deaf or are shy. When our anthem plays we sing proud and loud with our entire spirit.
Yeah. Crying tears of joy. 5 languages. Xhosa, Zulu, Sesotho, Afrikaans and English. This is a prayer to God. Thanks for the love man. It's so nice to see people especially from the USA who appreciate us instead of making fun of us. So much respect for you
So nice of you to actually reply. I'm half Namibian half South African. My dad's from SA. Namibia is SA's sister country. Google about Namibia and get some info. Basically we're die hard Bokke as well. 😊
I actually learned Nkosi sikelei Afrika in Afrikaans (guess my age😂) - which does not help me sing it, but because of that I understand the words. It's not just a beautiful song, but a beautiful prayer. I'm so glad they made the amalgamation of the songs, because it is beautiful and shows us as The Rainbow Nation.
This reaction is deep bra. As South Africans we feel immense pride when we sing this. It really brings us together . I’m sad to hear that some black Americans can’t relate to this . But we have 4 languages in national anthem. Talk about diversity ❤. Plus we won?! We don’t sing that to play
Our anthem makes me cry each time we sing it at these events. I truly believe that when we sing it together we are basically crying saying how much we love our country with all its problems. And pleading that we would want our country to succeed in everything.
The lyrics employ the five most populous of South Africa's eleven official languages - isiXhosa (first stanza, first two lines), isiZulu (first stanza, last two lines), seSotho (second stanza), Afrikaans (third stanza) and English (final stanza).
The composer of the zulu part is Enoch Sontonga (lord rest his soul) nd the legendary people who added sesotho ,afrikaans and english much respect.. its a prayer and hopefully with this prayer one day we will be united globally ❤😊
The anthem is a prayer to God to bring peace In our nation and togetherness regardless of skin colour or background (that’s the summary and it’s sang in 4 languages.
I love how enthusiastic you have come to be about South Africa... may you find major love and success in your new home. Ungomnye wethu(you are one of us now)❤
Like the previous comments say, its a prayer to God, asking Him to bless our country and Africa. SA is a deeply religous country. Many different cultures, languages and religions, but all are respected and celebrated. Yes, we have our problems, but which country has not? We LOVE our rugby and our players! And I love and follow your comments, Thanks! 😊
Zolani Mahola is the singer, she's from a very good (in my opinion) South African band from Cape Town called Freshly Ground. I highly reccomend that everyone checks them out, particularly Doo Bee Doo and Nomvula
I was a kid when freshly ground were making waves, barely understood English nor Xhosa. Listening to their music back damn! They truely are just exceptional.
Dunno if someone commented this below, but the other thing I love about the anthem is that (like the national flag), if a combination of a prayer song which was sung during the struggle (apartheid) era by Black people, who wanted freedom, peace and protection. The Afrikaans and English parts are kept from the old regime's anthem. The anthem is a living memory that once as a nation we were divided, but then came together for a new harmony. (The flag retained the red, white and blue of the old Dutch & English regimes, and added the black, green and gold which were the colours of the PAC and ANC).
Zolani Mahola was the lead vocalist for an internationally famous band called Freshly Ground. She has now launched an all-female band, The Feminine Force. The Rainbow Nation (South Africa) has 11 official languages.
Bro i really appreciate your hardwork and effort in making these videos , every time i watch one of your videos it makes me so proud to see other people (like you) appreciate our sport. If you have any questions about rugby or South Africa I'm here to help you .(i do play rugby myself ) Much love💚💛
What u saw and experienced is how it is, I stay in Johannesburg, this is how us South Africans are... Thanx for ur channel, for showing the world how South Africa really is. I'm Proudly South African. ✌
Thank you for acknowledging the beauty and passion of our people. NO matter what happens and no matter the difficulties we face, I am grateful to live in this beautiful country with our beautiful people.
@@craigbritz1684 No, look it up. The first verse is half Xhosa and half Zulu. The second verse is Sotho. The third verse is Afrikaans. And the forth verse is English.
Our anthem is a prayer to God to bless and protect South Africa, and to protect us because we're her children🙏🏻 the anthem captures the essence of what it means to be a South African.
The best National Anthem /Prayer, Cry to God to save Africa and Send the Messiah, especially where it says maluphakanyis'uphondo lwayo(lift up it's horn/Shofar) , it means let it's deliverer come
She's the lead singer from a group called "Freshly Ground". And that guy with his eyes closed is the Captian. There are several languages used in the Anthem and they are not all just versions of the English part. I would recommend googling what each verse means. ❤ thank you for saying such nice things about our Anthem and Country. Couldn't be more proud🇿🇦
Proudly South African 😢, whenever I sing the National anthem I cry . I love my beautiful country. Oh lord save our beautiful country country South Africa.

It's really more of a prayer than a song and you emotionally get involved when you sing it because of our historical background.... thanks so much for spicing it the best you could❤ May God bless you too...
Thank YOU for the positive views about a country. We really do love our Narional Anthem. No matter what went before or After
Thank you for this video, we take take something like our anthem for granted. The dude with his eyes closed is our captain, a living LEGEND. If you want to experience South Africa in full force, learrn the game of rugby, support your province and jump right into the culture. You can thank me later.
What a game against France damn but than we did it again 🏈🐐🇿🇦 my blood is greeen
Wow listened to the background sing along at the stadium it felt like everyone was south African.. Amazing right there, there were already victory signs 4 me... Thank you for loving our country. Ur new home 😊... GOD BLESS US ALL 🎉🎉🎉
What I love is that in a short national anthem of 4 versus, they incorporated all of us. And now sign language is our 12th official language.
I'm South African.this is a prayer for our people for peace and unity
That's why these players play the way they do , Passion , Pride and love for this country and its people !! God Bless!!

My anthem my people my country😊 🇿🇦💖
The order of the languages are Xhosa, Zulu, Sesotho, Afrikaans and English. The hymn speaks to all South Africans regardless of race and also asks God to bless Africa 🥰
You are so very welcome to be here and be one of us. We are really very free to worship the Lord God.
So much respect for you
Thanks for watching
This is my favourite video of all the videos youve made, thanks so much for loving our anthem as much as we do ❤
Thanks for watching family!
Man you made me cry with this reaction. The passion they show is really absolutely beautiful! 😭
Couldn't agree more!
I am just so Inlove with our anthem the meaning is just beautiful... I always tear up
I am glad that you and your family you have moved to your mother land,so this national anthem is yours too brother.
This reaction is deep bra. As South Africans we feel immense pride when we sing this. It really brings us together . I’m sad to hear that some black Americans can’t relate to this . But we have 4 languages in national anthem. Talk about diversity ❤. Plus we won?! We don’t sing that to play
They can't relate to the US national anthem.
@@MGMSACADEMIC yes, they don’t feel pride like we do when we sing our national anthem . I do know they can’t relate with their own ✨🙂
Our anthem makes me cry each time we sing it at these events.
❤
The original song (first verse) is actually a hymn... very spiritual. It’s also in 5 different languages
3 actually
Such a beautiful anthem and I'm proud of it its a beautiful prayer❤❤
🇿🇦 Go Bokkie we're all behind you proudly South African🇿🇦
The composer of the zulu part is Enoch Sontonga (lord rest his soul) nd the legendary people who added sesotho ,afrikaans and english much respect.. its a prayer and hopefully with this prayer one day we will be united globally ❤😊

Me too, love this tribute to our beautiful Anthem ❤
South Africa has the most beautiful Anthem. This Anthem unites all South Africans. We love it.
Thank you for appreciating and loving our country🇿🇦. South Africa would LOVE to have you come and visit🙏🏾.
Thank you
This is made me cry❤❤ so proud of our country.
Thank you for the positive reaction to our anthem
The anthem is a prayer to God to bring peace In our nation and togetherness regardless of skin colour or background (that’s the summary and it’s sang in 4 languages.
This song always brings tears
Love you my brother for the kind words for our country. You and your family are 100% one of us and a TRUE SOUTH AFRICAN. We love you AMAZING family!
Nkosi Sikelel’ iAfrica ❤ “I am not African because I was born in Africa but because Africa was born in me.”
I love how enthusiastic you have come to be about South Africa...
may you find major love and success in your new home.
Ungomnye wethu(you are one of us now)❤
GOD I love my Country
Bless all of our entire nation
Our anthem represents everyone in our rainbow nation. 🇿🇦
She's now doing solo projects
And Potbelly!
Zolani is from New Brighton (or is it KwaZakhele), PE. And I like their song "I'd Like" with the instruments and everything ❤🥺
Zolani is the same lady who sang Waka Waka with Shakira for 2010 world cup
Thank YOU for all your kind words about our country and our people. We are proudly South African 🇿🇦
The SA national anthem makes me cry every time. It's so beautiful
Bro i really appreciate your hardwork and effort in making these videos , every time i watch one of your videos it makes me so proud to see other people (like you) appreciate our sport. If you have any questions about rugby or South Africa I'm here to help you .(i do play rugby myself )

The first verse is half Xhosa and half Zulu. The second verse is Sotho. The third verse is Afrikaans. And the forth verse is English.

I LOVED your video. Thank you so much for making it. I love South Africa too. I hope you are still here.
Hey. Saw you guys today at the farmers market. Hope you enjoyed it there 😍🥰❤👋
Yes we really did and the food was great.
Our anthem is a prayer to God to bless and protect South Africa, and to protect us because we're her children🙏🏻 the anthem captures the essence of what it means to be a South African.
Well come brother. This is truly home for you and your family❤
You are more than welcome to come to South Africa. Best place on earth. I will never leave my beloved country. Proudly South African.
#proudlysouthafrican It’s the most beautiful anthem in the world 🙏🏾
The National Anthem truly represents the spirit that unites us. Thank you for "feeling" it as much as we do. 😊
