@@ElectricSkateboardHQ yeah the AWD GT seemed wired from the first ride. I did feel like the torque was amazing tho once you get up there it just topped out at 31 mph. I weigh 149 lbs.
O.O so my question I wanted to ask you is the Meepo NLS PRO is listed for 29 mph. I bought the NLS PRO at 32 MPH listing before it got changed and it rides at 32 MPH I love this board thought about buying anotha 1 tho they changed the listing to 29mph not sure if they tweaked the board to go slowah or whattt though because they changed the board I wouldn't want to buy it if they did tweak it unless they just put it down to 29mph because ppl ova 200 lbs might not make it to 32 mph I am really not sure I think Meepo Should Address this because it is left unanswered on the website on what exactly happened
I really like the sound of having thick soft urethane with a belt board, but really want to be able to push, or ride down hills without leaning on the throttle, as seen on hub boards. The roads here aren't fantastic much of the time. This is so much to choose from....
I thought I finally found the right one for me... the Exway X1 because I don't like the look of those big batteries and after the price cut it is a budget board now. I went to the shop page and then I saw it. Out of stock and it won't be available again... damn so close the get a fine budget board. But thanks for the video it is really helpful. I'm completely new into electric boards. I hope to see some updates of this kind of videos.
Great video! In the market for an all terrain around $800-900ish. Thinking the Ownboard Bamboo or Raldey Carbon v2.. For commuting and streets near me are in bad shape..
Ownboard Bamboo GT. I never did a head to head amongst them but I think Daniel Kwan tried both and thinks Ownboard is better. Plus, if you are thinking about poor road, flexible bamboo deck gonna be more comfy than carbon deck.
@@ElectricSkateboardHQ Thanks for the feedback! Switching from an escooter to eskateboard. My only concern with the ownboard is the 3 month warranty if it breaks. Heard anything about the quality and ordering parts to fix if it breaks down?
Hi! You seem to have tested great amount of dfferent boards! Can you tell which one absorbs best the roughness of the road / has the best flex and smoothness? That is the most important thing for me. I quess any shortboard does not absorb well. The second in priority is the portability. Have you tested Elwing Nimbus? A long shortboard. Thanks!
I had a Lacroix Nazare, sold it and got a Lacroix Lonestar. Lonestar has a longer range and IMO has a better ride with the 8" wheels vs the Nazare 7" wheels
If you have a budget at $600 I recommend getting the merlo classic 2 with 25 real world miles of range and a top speed of 25mph with the same trucks and wheels as the nls pro with a similar board with a bit more flex
Same. I was interested in it because you don't see those big batteries and it has a good build quality. All other shops sell it for the original price but not under $500.
I starting at the bottom I bought a Raxor x longboard for 175 now I’m looking at a boosted mini x for 899 im not a fan of wearing safety gear I wouldn’t want anything faster than that
The Ownboard W2 is technically a 499usd with the smaller battery option, so it could just barely fit into the budget board category 😅 Saying that, Im definitely for including it with the 9Ah battery, as the 4Ah option is a terrible idea unless you want to get like 5 miles of range 😄 Great vid regardless!
Electric Skateboard HQ I think so. Ive been looking to buy an eboar for around half a year now, and i check it now and then and it has stayed this price for the whole time 😄
Great video! Would you have a look at the Verreal RS and the Vestar Black Hawk? I wish the Ownboard AT boards would have the possibility of using real street wheels.
Verreal RS should be good but going with the full length aluminium enclosure is gonna make the board vibrates like a metal plate. I had the old AEBOARD AE1 that does the similar set-up and it really can be a dealbreaker. Ownboard AT's doesn't have enough height clearance for street wheels. It's already sanding it's bottom with the cloudwheels on. You can probably get 107mm superfly on if you top mount the deck and put a riser to it, but that will be kinda pointless lol.
Man I watched this 💩 a solid 20+ times just to see pros and cons and weed out the junk. Couldn't decide so I went Exway pro riot and Backfire G3 but could see me grabbing a meepo as well😂😂🤙
Meepo v3 has 100mm option which are a game changer for comfort and speed. You should of mentioned that. Especially as it's a top board away such a low price.
Rocky Ross probably not because I don’t think it would have enough powers to make it up a 5 mile hill and I would not get one because they are harder to find and are now like $200-$300 but I would recommend getting a longboard with dual motors if you are going to be traveling 5 miles up and down hill only because it will have way more power and the battery will be bigger too. Also look for one that the deck is really low to the ground because the lift board has a deck high off the ground and it is pretty unstable making sharp turns and I find myself just picking up the board to make a turn if I’m in like a parking lot or something. 🙂 hope you find a good electric skateboard 👍🏻
@@ericstephany7305 thanks man! Yeah I feel it. I was thinking about and looking into a meepo v3. There's a 1000$ one that sounds legit. But idk I figure something out lol. I just don't wanna walk to work anymore lol its an hour 30min + walk lol
Rocky Ross yea just get one you like even if it is not top of the line you’ll like it and it will still get you to work and back 👍🏻 look for a good deal on eBay, that’s where I got mine for like $200 cheaper. Good luck👍🏻
Yo man. I know this comment is old. But I'm really looking to get a mini x right now. I love boosted because they are the most reliable and that's what I'm looking for. Do you still recommend it?
@@nowazafox no. It's a great skateboard I still have mine and use it but a good chunk of its value came from the warranty and customer service of Boosted. It's also a 2018 model. There are better skateboards out there by now.
Jacob just sign up on their site for a code don’t listen to this guy. He’s spamming this on every video with some ulterior motive instead of just dropping the code. You can use 2 codes, Daniel Kwan has a code on his video.
4 longboard wheels are WAAYYY better than 2 polyurethane sleeves(like 1.5in of rideable material) on steel drums (hub motors) and 2 front wheels. Get a belt drive board unless you wanna abuse the board on like all terrain bike paths(that's all I use my hub motor board now, as a super cheap AT board lol.) My belt drive is my baby cloud of cushiony ride. Much better at taking sidewalks cuz you got 4 real wheels(like 4inches of nice ride material on all 4!) And a liiitttllleee bit more torque in belts.
I would like to get an all terrain board and looking at the Exway Atlas Carbon-2WD. Any thoughts? Do you need 4wd? I'm looking to use on a combination of pavement and forest service roads. Also, anything just as good for less? Thanks.
I'm curious if the Skatebolt Breeze 2 was considered for this list? It's a newer board but I'm seeing and hearing excellent first-hand accounts and the specs that it boasts are top of the line. Any thoughts?
Here i was thinking that Evolve was the top of the line..... I See now how wrong i was... But I now i don't know what to get is it boosted or something Else??????
Trying to decide on next board purchase, any help super appreciated. My list in no particular order: 1. Wowo 3 8.0Ah 2. Meepo NLS Pro 3. Backfire G3 Plus 4. Exway X1 Pro Which of these is the ideal cruiser for a 5'11, 200lbs guy who's just riding his hood and having a great time on smooth surfaces. Thanks so much for any help!
Personally if you have the budget, i would go for Backfire G3 Plus. If looking for something a bit cheaper (£500-700) i would go for the Exway Flex. Its a new board, but from first impressions looks great. I wouldnt go for the Wowgo or the Exway X1 Pro, because if youre going to go for that i would rather just get Exway Flex.
Wowgo 3 are best in terms of smoothness and carving. NLS Pro has 100mm wheels, has stronger brakes. Backfire G3 Plus = Wowgo 3 with different deck, caliber trucks instead of Paris Trucks. Exway X1 Pro = Stiff deck, more polish. All are equally good choices. For stiff deck and better polish (and that auto on feature!) obviously go for Exway X1 Pro. If you cannot live without strong brakes, Wowgo 3 and Backfire G3 Plus is out. Go for NLS Pro or Exway X1 Pro. If you must get Hobbywing ESC, don't mind gentler but need smooth brakes. NLS Pro is out.
S. Lee - Thanks for taking the time to provide your insight. So if I don't get the backfire, undoubtedly the next best thing in this price range, in your opinion, is the Exway Flex? I know nothing about belt driven boards...scares me to have to manage them. worth the concern, or could I be convinced somehow they're better?!
@@ElectricSkateboardHQ- Thanks do much for your time answering my questions. I appreciate y'all. I'm struggling to see a clear cut winner...I guess you'll say "cause there isn't one dude!" Based on your descriptions, I'm leaning towards the NLS or Exway Pro. But of the 4, which would you buy? Curious if you have an opinion about the Exway Flex that S. Lee mentioned? Admittedly this is my first board, and as mentioned above belt driven boards scare me to have to manage the wear and tear. Worth the concern, or could I be convinced somehow they're equal or better to hub?!
C. Claff to be honest it comes down to what youre looking for. whether u want a casual ride, or someting comfy, or something long distance, fast board etc. personal preference really
What in looking for is a board that will deliver the best battery life and be as confortable as it can be while still staying on a budget. What would you recommend me? (Edit: Yes i would like to go fast too but if i would have to cut speed for battery and confort i would
So what's the downside to koolwheel? And why leave out some the other offroad boards like bajaboard? Other than that thanks for the good video nice work.
Koowheel is a very dated product. Compare to most reputable Chinese Brands, Koolwheel wouldn't compete in spec/ polish and even aftersales. You can divide the recent eskate history at the point where Chinese Budget Boards became a thing, aka Pre-Meepo era and Post-Meepo era. Koowheel existed in Pre-Meepo era where it is considered a budget board that's good enough. After Meepo existed and Wowgo, Ownboard, Verreal, Apsuboard, etc etc etc followed suit, budget boards become much more stacked in specs and much more refined in their polish. Boards that are are good value in the pre-Meepo era became.. obsolete. These include the KooWheels and the Yuneec Ego. Bajaboard was not included because anyone outside of Australia practically can't get one XDDD. And it's basically the only board in its category... recently I've been hearing about this Ecomobl guy thou...
@@ElectricSkateboardHQ Actually you can get the bajaboard in multiple countries including the US. It's listed in the shipping options and the shipping cost is free.
Lycaon gr does 26mph and has a range of 15-25 (depending on the mode) for 400$, it also has a controller with telemetrics, 4 power modes, breaking modes and even cruise control. Ive been watching it but with the current state of the law in germany im a bit screwed!
Lycaon GR is pretty decent too, we did a review on that. It's just that at $400, it kinda wasn't better than the mentioned. It's ESC a little bit less smooth than Meepo's latest LingYi, the skate parts are slightly inferior to those of Meepo, Backfire too. To those who want strong brakes and big battery, sure, Lycaon GR is great. Nothing against them.
@@ElectricSkateboardHQ Electric Skateboard HQ Man thanks for the reply but let me ask you, since im really thinking about buying this one, what makes it inferior to Backfire or Meepo? From what ive heard Lycaon even has metal enclosures thats something you dont see very often, it has 8 layer canadian maple deck and the tracks are magnesium aluminum alloy. Wich makes me think it cant be too inferior to anyone. If anything weak on this board ive heard it doesn't accelerate like crazy, but it has 2x450w motors so. Idk man i just wanna hear your opinion on why this is weaker than the backfire black or the Meepo equivalent.
Amazon reviews on this board was generally very good, EXCEPT several people commented on how the battery died and would not charge when they had not used the board for a while. This was due to the battery needing to be constantly charging even when the board was not being used. One customer said it was going to cost him $230 to fix it (by the manufacturer). Is this true that the battery has to be constantly charging or else it dies forever?
I have an electric skateboard before, and once I fell really bad on a downhill and the brake poorly works. So which one is easier for beginners and has less chance for an accident?
hey. I wanna buy a e-board. im looking at two budget boards, the backfire g2 black and lycaon board gr. Do you have any opinions about the smartest purchase? or do you may know a better board? thx
So, why skip the Backfire Zealot?😝 I noticed you picked the G3 over the Zealot which is in some ways the G3’s belt drive sister. Last time I asked somebody about this they were strongly bent towards belt drive. What makes you choose hub? 😄

I just want speed... Haha. A quick mention of top speeds would be nice for videos like this.
Edit: might buy the 4wd meepo. 55km/h sounds hella fun.
you w8 speed go bioboards
I got the Backfire Mini and i can really recommend but you have to know how to skate.
Awesome vid. Thanks for all the details. website is great for extra specs as well
I thought I finally found the right one for me... the Exway X1 because I don't like the look of those big batteries and after the price cut it is a budget board now. I went to the shop page and then I saw it. Out of stock and it won't be available again... damn so close the get a fine budget board. But thanks for the video it is really helpful. I'm completely new into electric boards. I hope to see some updates of this kind of videos.
Well, the Wowgo 3X has everything I need and is only 710 USD after their discount code!
3x is the best choice as a result that i did the research for a week.
"it all comes down to personal preference", soooooo price, huh? 😋 (And everytime he says "respectively" you have to take a shot!)
Awesome video well done! Definitely was needed!
@@mash17303 raldey has those bigger wheels though for better clearance.
How you could miss the Bajaboard?? I was waiting to the end for this
Thanks!
Check Vestar night fury, and you can find 20% discount, and I just purchased and wait for it ! Cost me 640 dollars with double motors.
Great reviews i lvoed every second. I personally prefer DIY but these reveiws are spot on for a newbie to learn the difference! Keep it up!!
I had a Lacroix Nazare, sold it and got a Lacroix Lonestar. Lonestar has a longer range and IMO has a better ride with the 8" wheels vs the Nazare 7" wheels
Great review! The Exway Flex should have been included perhaps?
It's not out until April 2020! If it's good, it will be in the next one!
@@ElectricSkateboardHQ Thank you!
lovely content
Thanks man!
Great video! I ended up getting the Metroboardx.
How it does?
A list of the names would be great. I hate it when I have to go back again to see what the exact name of the board is
Wowgo 3 is $499 plus $25 off right now and a killer at that price. Best board out at that price
Very good and useful video. Good work! Thank you! Subscribed!
Thanks man!
Great Content !! Lets hope your channel grows !! : )
Thanks man!
If you have a budget at $600 I recommend getting the merlo classic 2 with 25 real world miles of range and a top speed of 25mph with the same trucks and wheels as the nls pro with a similar board with a bit more flex
very underrated video. thanks for the info.
Looks like the Exway X1 is no longer available...such a shame 😢
Same. I was interested in it because you don't see those big batteries and it has a good build quality. All other shops sell it for the original price but not under $500.
I starting at the bottom I bought a Raxor x longboard for 175 now I’m looking at a boosted mini x for 899 im not a fan of wearing safety gear I wouldn’t want anything faster than that
Just ordered the backfire G3 for Black Friday, free shipping, came out to $560 I’d say that’s great for what it originally is :P
Vestar is a good brand also, their boars with decent speed and excellent range.
I've never been on an electric skateboard, but I'm eyeing that WOWGO 3X.
I have it and for the price, it's great...does hit the 24mph and almost 14 miles on a charge...carves great too...go for it.
Joseph Sedotto how does it do on tougher ground? Like cracks in the sidewalk or older roads, not skate park smoothness
Oh it got a price cut! Lets see if thats permanent.
Electric Skateboard HQ I think so. Ive been looking to buy an eboar for around half a year now, and i check it now and then and it has stayed this price for the whole time 😄
Great Video! good Work!!!
Thanksss!
@@ElectricSkateboardHQ Thank you
great video dude
Thanks dude!
Man I watched this 💩 a solid 20+ times just to see pros and cons and weed out the junk. Couldn't decide so I went Exway pro riot and Backfire G3 but could see me grabbing a meepo as well😂😂🤙
Which do you like better? Any second opinions?
Wow, amazing video!
If you are looking something for around 600$ exway flex would be the best. All we have to do is just wait a little, well i am :)
We are in the process of reviewing the Flexway. Exway still upgrading it and it's not in its final form yet =P
BioBoards on the wAY whit the plutonium !!!!! time too rock w4 drive
Meepo v3 has 100mm option which are a game changer for comfort and speed. You should of mentioned that. Especially as it's a top board away such a low price.
You mean self-upgrade as an option? Because I just check and it still only offers 90mm as stock option.
I have one that’s called a lift board and it is only like 120, I’ve had it for years and the battery still can go many miles
Do you think it'd be reliable as a commuter to work 5 miles down hill & 5 miles back up hill ??? I'm looking for one now. Just a lot to pick from
Rocky Ross probably not because I don’t think it would have enough powers to make it up a 5 mile hill and I would not get one because they are harder to find and are now like $200-$300 but I would recommend getting a longboard with dual motors if you are going to be traveling 5 miles up and down hill only because it will have way more power and the battery will be bigger too.
Good luck👍🏻
RIP Boosted :'(. I love my Mini X
The X1 is sold out 🙁 I really wanted to pick it up as my first board, seemed like a bargain.
Jacob coming back in stock soon, I can give you a disccount code if you wish, dm me on insta: @alxshots
Get the x2
The backfire X2 due to discounts is basically the same price as the X1
I would like to get an all terrain board and looking at the Exway Atlas Carbon-2WD. Any thoughts? Do you need 4wd? I'm looking to use on a combination of pavement and forest service roads. Also, anything just as good for less? Thanks.
This is so cool! I want one!
Thank you, for the info some of these boards I didn't even know exist, I have my eye on the hoyt st 👍👍👍
Going for the classy one eh!
@@ElectricSkateboardHQ there's no review about this board ?

ALOT
I am trying to decide between the Verreal F1-$340 and Apsubaord V3 - 320
I'm curious if the Skatebolt Breeze 2 was considered for this list? It's a newer board but I'm seeing and hearing excellent first-hand accounts and the specs that it boasts are top of the line. Any thoughts?
I really liked the WowGo 3 and Backfire G2T. if you were to pick one, which would you choose and why?
Here i was thinking that Evolve was the top of the line..... I See now how wrong i was... But I now i don't know what to get is it boosted or something Else??????
The Exway X1 isn't being sold any more... =(

June 2020, comparing current prices....what is the best call? Wow go 3 or Backfire 2b?
Just picked up the new Wowgo 3 on special at $399 (previously $599 9:15) with Paris trucks, flexible bamboo deck and new ESC what's not to like! 🤷
I've had good luck with teemoboard m1 with 10s5p 10ah battery
Trying to decide on next board purchase, any help super appreciated. My list in no particular order:
1. Wowo 3 8.0Ah
2. Meepo NLS Pro
3. Backfire G3 Plus
4. Exway X1 Pro
Which of these is the ideal cruiser for a 5'11, 200lbs guy who's just riding his hood and having a great time on smooth surfaces.
You need to update this. Especially now that the Meepo V4 came out.
how did the Bajaboard not make the list?
Pretty sure the backfire G3plus is way more powerful than the NLS Pro... It has 12s 50v battery and 600watt dual motors
What Is wrong with New Koowheel d3m? i was ready to buy it :/
Amazon reviews on this board was generally very good, EXCEPT several people commented on how the battery died and would not charge when they had not used the board for a while. This was due to the battery needing to be constantly charging even when the board was not being used. One customer said it was going to cost him $230 to fix it (by the manufacturer). Is this true that the battery has to be constantly charging or else it dies forever?
What would be the main consideration when deciding between a short and long board?
Preferences , you don’t want a board too long but not too short either
I have an electric skateboard before, and once I fell really bad on a downhill and the brake poorly works. So which one is easier for beginners and has less chance for an accident?
and you forgot about the NEW EXWAY FLEX for a shocking price - only 649 hub 699 belt-driven, all ip55 waterproof, and smart battery system :)

So, why skip the Backfire Zealot?😝
I noticed you picked the G3 over the Zealot which is in some ways the G3’s belt drive sister. Last time I asked somebody about this they were strongly bent towards belt drive. What makes you choose hub? 😄
