I remember watching this live. I was probably 10 and it devastated me so badly. A few years later Gary died on Thirtysomething and it felt the same. Then Jack died on This is Us. 😭😭😭😭😭
No matter what GH scenes I watch, Lesley's death is the only one that makes me cry like a little girl. Thank you sooo much for making this video. it's so beautiful and a wonderful tribute to DA's golden days on GH. ❤❤❤❤
Wow -- didn't realize that GH handled Denise's (Lesley's) departure "without her". As usual, your video brought the beauty to a sad situation. Thanks for sharing!
Slicer - you hit the nail on the head with this storyline.. I think the sudden loss of a major presence / friend on the show brought out genuine emotion from the cast. Hence why I STILL "just sobb" every time Rick's voice breaks, or when he screams "where is she" to Bert.. or when Mrs W hugs Rick, or when Gail says "what are we gonna do?" or when Jessie speaks.. Basically, I just sobb through the whole darn thing...
Really beautiful....The next time you see these two together is when Rick returns for LnL's second wedding, and that was equally painful, in a different way. They really ruined Rick's character and I don't think there was any justification for it. There were so many other ways to have Laura exit - but the way they did it so dishonored Rick.
Lesley was always my favorite actress on GH. I was very young staying with my aunt while my mom worked and my aunt was always active but come 3pm everything had to stop and there was no talking during her show. I watched this soap faithfully all the way through college and then was so happy when soap channel came to cable and I watched every night.
So I finally got up enough nerve to watch this video. Even though it was really sad it was very well put together. Thanks again for all of your hard work and dedication to us Rick & Lesley Webber fans!
So, why in the heck would I choose to watch this first thing in the morning? I am just sobbing. When Rick's voice broke, ugh. I felt like the people (and characters) left behind weren't acting as much as feeling the loss in reality. I miss that strong mother figure in this show. Sure she made her mistakes, but don't we all? Love that woman!
You are welcome Tracy. She really was sure that she couldn't do this montage 8 months ago and look what she accomplished. Mare is, as always, the best!
This is cool. Well done. What I didn't like in the later years with "A Twist of Fate", is when they came back and folks gave Laura a hard time for faking her own death to save her own Mother. All those characters who were distraught with Lesley's death, should have understood Laura's desire not to lose her again. Eh, soaps! LOL.
I can't believe I just watched that!! Uhhhggg. I always pretend it never happened, along with the whole Ginny Blake thing. But it was very well put together. Thank you!
I have watched GH from the first show in 1963 and for the life of me, I cannot remember how she was brought back to life. Also can't remember the whole story about how Rick died, only that Laura was connected to it.
dechinta How Leslie came back. Luke and Laura found out that Helena had caused the crash to kill Leslie. Stephan tried to stop her but was too late. He found her still alive and gave her a drug so it would look like she was dead. Then he took her away and hid her so Helena couldn't find her and kill her. Luke and Laura found her and rescued her. As for how Rick died, I try and block that out of my memory. They ruined the character of Rick by saying that he was always cheating on Leslie. I could be wrong but I think that he had accidentally killed one of the women he was sleeping with in their attic . Laura stumbled upon it. To cover it up, Rick drugged her so she wouldn't remember. Years later when she was to re-marry Luke she started having memories. Rick was about to drug her again to make her forget and Scotty arrived and clubbed Rick over the head and killed him. He didn't want to be found there so he let Laura believe that she had killed him which drove her into the comatose state she ended up in for years.

Oh yes, I remember that now. Yes, Rick was always cheating on Leslie, usually with Monica. Of course, Alan cheated on Monica a lot too, but Monica cheated more than Alan ever thought about. You're right. I remember it all now. Thank you! And after all these decades, it will be a happy day when someone finally kills that old bat Helena!
Great eye, as usual Chirs. Was waiting for someone to mention that new scene! :) Sit tight. I'm awaiting delivery of the English audio. then I will post. As for your waiting a few days to decide to watch or not, boy do I understand that feeling. I pulled Katja's uploads into my 84 playlist so I didn't have to go through the pain of posting/editing this storyline from my discs. I watched it once then vowed to never watch again.*sniff, sniff.* But time softens & heals. Even in soap-opera world! :)
Now looks what ya made me do, tear up but just a little though........nicely done!!!! I always felt more of a tribute should have been given to her death as well. Instead GH disappointed w/GICK, YUCK!!!! This lovely tribute you did would have been a wonderful addition to the show back then, would have given us a little more gratification! I am sure GM just didn't want to pay DA anymore so that is why no pictures, memories, etc......
Tracy E She was supposed to return from the dead in ‘93, but for some reason it was postponed until ‘96..... I would have liked to have seen Steve and her reunited.....
I possibly have a question. I just started watching these and can't get enough they are my favorite. The scene with Lesley Laura and Amy in the bed and Lesley is on phone. What scene us that from. Can I see it?
It was a nice tribute, but seems really odd to watch now, since we know her character didn’t really die, loved her scenes in the last few years & her return to GH, especially how close she was to Laura
This is so sad. This has been a long time ago. Where was Laura when Lesley passed away? How did they bring her back? Sorry, but I think Lesley did return later. Only on a soap.
This was after Genie Francis quit. Apparently Gloria Monty let Denise Alexander go.Her character did come back not long after Luke and Laura came back.
I hope someone is reading this because I'm really confused. I stopped watching after the whole ice princess island and after Laura returned from being kidnapped by the cassadines. So I have been looking at some of these videos to see kinda what happened later. Well, I seen after Scotty killed Rick Leslie was still there so how can she be dead here with Rick still alive. I'm confused for sure unless this was a scam again by the cassadines.
The heartbeats are very effective. It just bothers me that they didn't do a better job with Lesley's return story. I do like Tracy but the thought that she is the only mother figure Lulu has is just sad.
Cheryl.. I'm so sorry to hear about your nieces illness. I woud be happy to try and make a video for her using at least one of her favorite songs. Can I ask her name??
Notice Lesley was never seen during her death? This was because Gloria Monty brutally fired her wanted utterly erased from the series. Lesley remained dead from ‘84-‘96. When she returned from the dead it was a bit anticlimactic and I personally think that she should have been kept dead....
It took me a couple of days to decide to watch this cause I prefer to think these scenes never happened but finally I just couldn't resist and it was really good, Mare. What scene is that kiss at Kelly's from cause that doesn't look familiar to me at all?
Why does it matter? She comes back to life "miraculously" LOL - what else is new? I stopped watching GH around the time Luke & Laura reunited in the Mayors mansion so this had to be AFTER Laura came back from the dead. Does anyone know around what year this was or how far into the series it was after Laura returned? Interestingly, you dont see any shots of Laura & Luke in this memorial video????
I hate how ironic your title is. (still love love love the video, don't take this the wrong way.) "I'll always remember you" and then, less than a year later, he is married to GINNY BLAKE! WHAT THE HELL!? I once accidentally clicked on a rick and ginny video, and i almost threw up. Thank god that didn't last long!
I always felt it was a bad move to kill off this very significant character to the show at that time. Judith Chapman who played Ginny Blake, could have easily replaced Dennise Alexander as Lesley Webber. Than years later, they bring the character back from the dead, go figure.
I remember watching this live. I was probably 10 and it devastated me so badly. A few years later Gary died on Thirtysomething and it felt the same. Then Jack died on This is Us. 😭😭😭😭😭

Little did they know that Helena Cassadine kidnapped her and would hold her for more than 20 years.

Oh Lord Mare the video is gread. Even as I don't want to and I know it's only a TV show I cried through the whole video. Thank you so much.
This is a beautiful tribute, and not at all painful to watch, as I initially thought. Thanks Mare.

I'm sitting up here crying all over again,😭😭😭 And then I keep saying "But she didn't, she didn't!"
Cosign onto Lesley prayer [Thank you DA for all the golden memories and to everyone who recreates them I will cherish them forever. thank you.
You are welcome Tracy. She really was sure that she couldn't do this montage 8 months ago and look what she accomplished. Mare is, as always, the best!

0:36 the last cute moment between R+L... even though she wasn't really in the scene...
Omg tears tears tears

The Cassadines were exacting their revenge...
It was Mrs. Witacker, from Beachers Corner. She was a long timw=e friend of Laura's.
Notice Lesley is never seen on the other end of the phone and neither is her body?
Yup, that woman did not have a chance!! I am hoping for a Lesley return, they keep mentioning her on the show these days..
Tracy E She was supposed to return from the dead in ‘93, but for some reason it was postponed until ‘96..... I would have liked to have seen Steve and her reunited.....
I think her character lives in Canada now - Laura just recently went to visit her, after a house fire - would love to see her on GH again
Leslie lives

@@jeannewman1054 That makes sense. This was like 30 or more years ago. LOL. Trying to remember it all.
I had to think for a while too lol

Yay! Me too!

what i dont understand is how did the cassadines fake leslies death when they saw the body at the morgue and saw it was her

Allways again sad!
Who was the older woman in the glasses, the woman Rick was hugging?
I guess Monica wasn't at the funeral...

but leslie didnt die she was being held captive for 13 years
I'm thoroughly confused. Lesley isn't dead! I don't remember this at all for some reason, even though I was watching during those years...
If she died in a car accident, how did they make her character return from the dead?
Cheryl, I sent you a private email... Mare
Cheryl, I sent the email to your youtube email address, but will also forward to your Yahoo account. Mare
She is not she is held ny the casssdines

MrJuly1990ish NO WAY. Judith Chapman could NEVER have replaced DA. Never.
