@@thraexgladiator since im an unlucky guy i got myself "prepare carefully". you can pick whatever colonist you like, set their skills and whatnot.. makes surviving this much easier ^^
Easy. Get Mad Skills mod, turn off skill decay. Now they won't EVER lose skill levels or experience. Give them VERY GOOD armor, clothing (since armor protection is all about layers of defense), shield belt, some armorskin implant, DeathRattle mod (so you have a small chance to save them if they get a vital organ destroyed by quickly transplanting a new one) and the No More Lethal Damage Threshold mod (absolutely critical to make sure they DON'T DIE from a million bruises, just because they ran out of hitpoints). Would be nice to have Harvest Everything mod, so that you can harvest the body parts of raiders, and have a supply of "spare parts" for your people, until you can get a good supply of bionics going. Bionic arms improve Manipulation (which boosts Melee hit chance), bionic legs improve move speed (which lets them reach their targets faster, improves Melee dodge chance), bionic eyes (improves both Melee hit and dodge), bionic ears (improves Melee dodge actually). Less Arbitrary Surgery mod to prevent your lvl 20 doctors from screwing up routine bionic implantation surgeries (happened to me once, looking at you Tetoran, NEVER AGAIN). Entirely optional but HIGHLY RECOMMENDED are Supreme Melee (gives them a percentage chance to block melee attacks and deflect bullets when their skill is high enough) and Melee Weapons: Speed and Damage (Melee Skill and Manipulation both affect melee weapon damage and cooldown between attacks). The better they are, the deadlier and tankier they will become. Some optional mods which might be useful are Rim of Madness Bones (has a research option for pretty easy plasteel mass production), Combat Shields (and its Sci-Fi Addon - adds defensive shields to use with one-handed weapons, the mods can break world gen, so add AFTER you have generated your game world and your starting colonists have landed, save and exit game, then add the Combat Shields mod). Oh, and Crafting Quality Rebalanced (at certain skill levels, your crafters will consistently make good stuff and won't make bad quality stuff anymore). You can then help them level up Melee skill by beating up animals around the map (watch out for pack /herd mass revenge), as well as fight constantly during raids. Melee guys are FANTASTIC at being distractions, drawing enemy fire away from squishier targets, holding the breach against melee hordes (manhunters, insectoids, tribals, etc), intercepting enemy melee looking to engage your firing line. And if they have a Rimworld of Magic melee class, they get all sorts of crazy attacks and gap closing abilities (shadow step, teleports, jump-attacks) to both help them reach their targets faster, hit harder, tank damage, crowd control, and even escape a bad situation. My melee specialists, especially with Rimworld of Magic classes, have saved the day numerous times and killed many dangerous opponents (rocket launcher guys, enemy mages, snipers, Arachnid Plasma Bugs, a MECHANOID DRAGON). Good melee people are super valuable.
@@huauua5414 You CAN train people to be uber melee characters, but they need the right traits and at least some passion in Melee. Please see my earlier comment for some ideas. Thank you for your time.

These have no righr being as well done and accurate as they are and you are CRIMINALLY undersubbed
Reminds me of the time when I lost my colony from 25 viking's. Then I buffed one of my colonist's stats by 600% and gave him a beer bottle and set him to search and destroy. Ah good times😇
No matter what technology your colony are, you will always need a buff bloodlust brawler colonist
You sir have
🔥🔥 20 skill in art and just got inspiration
I was really surprised to see that this was only your 3rd upload bc the quality is insane! Can't wait to see more!
This guy invented Hussars before they existed
The axe hitting the raider is just so nice and impactful and just awesome
I'd love to see this become a series.
My favorite part is the slow wind up into the 0 in-between frames of the hit
Rimworld - Modded moment
I laughed out loud when Melee came out with the music.
Rimworld needs these works of art.
Но есть один нюанс.
Так твой поселенец будет бить только во время нервного срыва и только по своим.
Твой поселенец во время нервного срыва становится думгаем, но убивает своих.
И что самое забавное, он
па-ци-фи-ст
Aside from the memes this animation fits rimworld greatly. Good job man
It's Jesus!
God this is awesome.
The production on this is very good! Hope to see more.
got instant goosebumps the music started, well done! how do i get my pawns to get this strong in melee though? i never even had one with a higher skill level than 7.. but then again im a pretty bad rimworld player :D
You can’t really train colonists, you just gotta get lucky with how they spawn with their starting stat, or have a guy with passion repeatedly beat the shit out of people
@@thraexgladiator since im an unlucky guy i got myself "prepare carefully". you can pick whatever colonist you like, set their skills and whatnot.. makes surviving this much easier ^^
Raiders often have a lot of strong combat pawns you could take for yourself if you really wanted to. I know some of the rec games train melee and shooting, read the descriptions closely.
I think there's a market to animate notable moments in your/other youtubers series. Your animation is really good quality and you have a really good knack for delivering story without dialogue.
I'm just saying, i would watch it.
Please make more of these :)
love the artstyle
Its all fun and games till the brawler enters a murderous rage and wipes the colony
the animals guy probably can beat that guy with his thrumbo
Love your style, would love to see more. This is top tier rimworld memes. Bravo! *chef's kiss*
Someone really needed to animate at least one of the war crimes this game has to offer
This is beautiful
There is no international law in the rim, meaning there are no such things as war crimes
I sense the birth of an amazing channel
This is actually so good, you think of doing more rimworld stuff?
I am watching this 20th time and I can't stop.
Is this guy based on an actual character you have in a colony, if so what his name? He looks like a legend among men
Rimworld and DMC crossover, beautifully animated too.
Subbed
That is amazing.
I can totally see it going down like this too.
Rough House Johnson there has his own theme music playing.
More please! Some of the goofy quests or the duck-pocolipse when you leave fert eggs in food storage XD.
Awesome vid!
Just one question: How on earth would they survive 3 more hours with THAT kind of a cut?
These videos are GREAT! Just found your channel and been playing Rimworld for a while.
I was expecting to that raider with no melee just lightly swing at this melee god and instantly kill him. Because MELEE DONT WORK IN RIMWORLD.
Kinda true, but shooting is random af to
Melee works fine, Locust Anon, if you invest enough in that melee guy and use them properly. Combined Arms Operations, remember that term.
@@tkinmotorowerowy8804 Not true. It depends on a number of factors. Understand them and use them to your advantage.
@@mirceazaharia2094 I know but still. Even your best shooters with bionic eyes, arms and skill 17-20 who use a legendary sniper rifle (which I consider to be poor by the way, but that's another matter) can still miss even at the optimal distance because it still only has a certain percentage chance of hitting. In this game, my rate of fire is better than accuracy. And yes, the Happy Triger colonist minigun is my favorite combo. Alternatively LMG, assault rifle or charge rifle are not bad either.I have about 1750 hours in this game and I learned that in late game it is much better to trust killboxes and, for example, falling roof traps than colonists
So satisfying seeing them jerk towards an enemy one time, and the enemy dying instantly.
Jesus Christ its Jesus Christ
And he's *ANGRY!*
This is some high quality animation, well done
is it just me or does melee chad look like rasputin?
Mate, as animator, man your content is such high quality. Have you worked on any studio yet? Cause i dont know if you only do this for a hobbie, but man there is plenty of studios who will fight for such a talent.
holy fuck the last shot was amazing, he's just waiting for his pal to take the raider out and then walks toward one another, that is great cinematography right there!
I can't stop watching it and it keeps popping up in my recommended so i keep rewatching it
Your animation was good enough that I thought it was from one of those 3D anime’s. Nice work
