This will (and should) go down as one of the great rides in Giro lore. Stellar effort my Froome - impeccable. I must say I have never been a Froome fan until after last year's Tour. The absolutely appalling way the French fans treated Froome was a disgrace. Froome kept his cool and composure. I'll be rootin for ya at this years Tour Froomey! Knock 'em dead son.

@clean cyclist It looked like Froome was pulling a Landis, but in reality Landis rode 150km solo against the peloton, where Froome rode 80km mostly against Reichenbach, who did much of the pacing and was waited for in the downslopes, with Dumoulin contributing and setting the pace in the final climb. Pinot contributed somewhat but stopped after Sestrieres because he was worried about Lopez, and Lopez and Carapaz never putting in an effort for 70km and spent the final climb participating in vain attacks.

I’m Dutch but a huge fan of this man because as far as I know he’s humble and a real sportsman who is so determined and has such a high perseverance...
However people still exaggerate his stage win in the Giro because Dumoulin didn’t have a team to help him and it was 1v1 fight for about 80 kilometers and when you have nothing to lose and your gaining time you get so much motivation and energy and when you’ve everything to lose and losing time you get demotivated which causes that you lose energy.
    But still a legendary performance.

i did not like Froome prior to this, his monotonous mechanical riding aided by such a powerful team and not to mention a shady manager in Brailsford, but he won my respect after this epic masterpiece of a ride, this is how great champions should ride and risk it all, he did exactly that, racing from the yesteryears saw a Merckx or a Coppi win a race with such domination, thanks for bringing cycling's lost glory back again...
