This. As delighted as I am to have seen a number of highly enthusiastic fan reactions to this reveal, I was disappointed by how many of them didn't even know what they were looking at until Nell showed up on screen. Despite their fervor, the name Orange Star meant nothing to them lol.
@@ThrillingDuck in their defense the games are really old. Hell, the name "orange star" triggered some deep part of my memory and i was trying to figure it out until Nell showed up. It's just hard to make that connection when you've given up on that series lol
Also, it all happens in the matter of like seconds, it's not like you're given much time to think about it. Just seems like kind of a weird judgement overall imo
@@twincherries6698 I see what you're saying but it's really not that weird. Orange Star is the protagonist faction of the whole series. If someone is a casual fan who just like played 1 when it came out or something and never replayed it or thought about it ever again, then of course I'd understand them not remembering the name. But I'd also expect them to not give NEARLY this much of a shit about the remake. That's the distinction. It surprises me that so many of these over-the-top reactions came from people who basically didn't even recognize the Advance Wars equivalent of the Mushroom Kingdom or Hyrule by name. I think that's a perfectly fair and valid judgement.
Anyway RogersBase is clearly a REAL fan for the reasons OP stated and I love him for that.
@@ThrillingDuck well I can see what you're saying but these are the old games so if someone enjoyed them back in the day seeing that they're being remade would be a big deal on top of that, I think a lot of people have been wanting IPs like advance wars to return after all this time even if they haven't played every or many games in those series. So I can see why you think it's fake but it's kind of a lot of emotions outside of advance wars, which itself is a big deal for being remade. It means there's a chance that nintendo could suddenly go back make a new title for something as niche as chibi robo out of the blue

Advanced Wars announcement was not something I expected but immediately became a DAY ONE buy for me. Made my day to see someone react so positively to it!

I played advance wars by mistake. The best mistake I ever made!!!!!
This is the only one i've seen so far who recognized Advance Wars from the sounds. Usually people get it when the text appears.

I can’t believe Rodgers unleashed his inner Etika when he saw advanced wars.
I randomly came back to this video, but 2022 is going to be absolutely packed. Elden Ring, Breath of the Wild 2, God of War Ragnarok, Dying Light 2, Starfield, Horizon: Forbidden West, etc... I'm very much looking forward to it. And I'm sure there are other games coming not announced yet. In my opinion, it's going to be the best year since 2015.

Honestly if the motion controls for skyward sword is fixed along with making Fi not hold your hand then the game would be perfect. I feel like people shit on that game because of those two issues and they just ignore the positive side of things that definitely outweigh the negative.

Rogerbase I knew skyward sword has something to do with breath of the wild & BOTW2 because of the zonai carvings on the pillars at the SPRING OF POWER, SPRING OF WISDOM and the SPRING OF COURAGE in skyward sword and breath of the wild most people who did theories about the zonai didn't do that research it just clicked when I saw the spring of wisdom

Advance Wars is definitely the product of perfect gameplay decisions and compromises made in a package. Just about every decision, from unit selections and movement, to the underlying specifics of battle mechanics, was honed to perfection by committee. And even with that, still the uncertainty of how it would be accepted by the public at large. Striking the perfect balance is difficult, especially if you want people who don’t traditionally play war games to get hooked, and appease veteran tactical strategy fans at the same time. Hard to tell where the magic is just from video, but once you take the controller, and realize how easy it is to get into, that’s when it lands.
Haha I'm gonna have to pick up the advanced wars, I never played it but seeing the reveal I had fond memories immediately flood back to watching my older brother play them. 😀

My theory is Demise is going to come back. He discards the body he no longer needs (Ganondorf), which has been possessed since the beginning. The malice has grown strong enough to be capable of fully reforming him.

I heard the sound, then saw orange star and i instantly wide eyed as I have been waiting so long for more advance wars, I still bring my 3DS to work and play Duel Strike and Days of Ruin. Not sure how long Nintendo has been making this but I really hope Wargroove showed them there is still love for this genre, here is hoping for a new game in the series.

Wow, I just saw "Breath of the Wild 2" and didn't read the rest of the title, my reaction was about the same as yours for Advance Wars tho! AW2 is my top3 Gameboy Advance games BY FAR! SO HYPED!!!
