Great to see an old mag Sportster. I restored a 1963 XLCH basket case in 1989/90 after I got out of the Navy. I sold it and bought a 1974 FLH Police Special that I still have today. It still has the foot activated siren on it.
My Sportster is 25yrs old and has 400,000 miles on her on the original engine except for the stater. Runs 200degs in Florida in the summer.Very reliable, lots of day trips now I am retired.Sees a lot of rain 🌧️☔ its Florida after all.
Wow, that is some real bike history! Thank you
Another awesome bike, Another great story. Thanks again, Matt.
Ha! Made it to the top and back down and you’re both still in one piece! It’s a good day at Maggie Valley!!!
The photos of that machine in action are incredible. Last raced in 1966 . Just WOW!
yeah amazing stuff
Very impressive! I picked up a '66 a few weeks back & have been keeping it on the back burner as my winter project. Sadly I think she needs a transmission or atleast some shift forks. With half the luck you've got i'll atleast be able to make the engine fire to give me that morale boost. Again, such a stellar video from Matt & the WTT folks!
Really love Ken's humor. Great bike and cool video. Thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching
Those guys back in the day must of had kidney belts on for a 500 mile race!
Very cool. I've always had a soft spot for Sportster. Especially the old ones. There's just something about them. Ones like that, modified to race, are particularly neat to me.
I think Ken would have jumped on a rocket with you going to the moon. It was good seeing you in person Matt. On Sunday the 27th I was the one at the picnic table, you spoke with for a few minutes I briefly spoke with your wife as she waited on me at the register. Super busy person, thoroughly enjoyed myself. What a piece of history you got right there Enduro sportster with a side car. I just don’t know what you’re going to come up with next. It’s always a surprise and it’s always good. Keep on keeping on.👍🏻
Hearing you laugh is like an echo of your great Dad. Miss him too. Great video!
Been to your museum twice. Your old man is a riot.
That's really awesome y'all, I love old bikes that have the personality of the riders or whatever it's really cool
Having run a handful of National enduros on a modern bike I can’t imagine doing 500 miles of trail on that. Absolutely amazing. That’s a piece of American history that should be preserved as is.
It will be! Thanks for watching.
The first time I ever heard of the Jack Pine I was in Earl Buck's shop in the Detroit area. Wish I could have seen some of them but I was a few years too late for the old format. Keep the good stuff coming buddy.
Man this is awesome!!!! Thanks Matt!!!!!
Ken is video gold. thanks guys.
Awesome machine!
Lansing Michigan is right around the corner from me.
Thats a lot of gaskets, Matt. I saw the Cannonball motorcycle run started today... they'll be there in Maggie Valley soon.
Super cool Matt, I like to watch how stoked you get when you're reviving these old scooters. I'm stoked for you. Thanks for sharing your the best.
I enjoy and admire all your work - This was particularly good - your patience is admirable as well as Kens- much respect to your Father
Matt I met you in Davenport at the swap meet when you were checking this bike out. You put out great videos keep it up . Glad I got to talk to you Iam going to order me a raffle ticket. Thanks Harold
You are so nice to watch. Keep up the good work.
Great acquisition for the museum boys!
You gotta take the camra guy around the building though. To take us with ya'll!
Keep up the great videos . This is a dream job
Every ride on that bike would be an adventure. Amazing machine, please keep it as it is and show it off to the public, in a bike museum maybe, at times.
It's staying just as!
@@wheelsthroughtimeyour decision to keep her the way she is is frikkin awesome and will be appreciated by all types of 2 wheel racers and fan bases. Myself being a former racer ,I have to bucket list a visit to see your found treasure. Thanx for all you do
That’s a beautiful bike 🍀👍🙏
Wow! A Jack Pine special. Might have raced against Dot Robinson. Awesome
Probably too late to have raced Dot but super cool.
Love everything you do . I wish I knew about you museum before my father passed a couple of years ago. He would have loved it. Keep up the great work Matt🙏
My 1st harley was an '08 sporty anniversary livery. One of my 1st rides i stopped for a bite and couldn't start it back up. Turns out i left it in 1st gear unintentionally. Now i check that as often as I can. Always the little things that get ya!
Thanks Matt another great vid!
I like the vintage GPS mounted to the hack
Amazing find, such cool history !
Wow! So cool!
Best day at work EVER !
That was impressive! I had a Sportster in 67 but I can't recall the year of the bike? All I recall was it was 900cc.
Again, it would've been more epic if u showed the whole journey in the acquisition of the said bike - from the swap meet back to WTT shop then all the way to reviving/restoring it.
Hold on for dear life ken!! hahaha
That was awesome!
Very beautiful machine
I just gave my son a 1961 sportster to rebuild I just hope he has as much fun as I had with the bike
That’s thing looks awesome.
WOW!!! Good work!!
Great video Matt
Good heavens! that sidecar is an eyesore, looks like it is made in Tijuana.
Thank God you have it now.
insipes me to get on with a couple projects in my garage. God bless !
Loved this video
Just take my Money!. THAT is a Pac Northwest Woods Harley Racer,, with the Rokon Trailbreaker rear and the Warn boat winch!. Not much stretch steel on the sidecar. Keeps the mud weight down. A thinking mans bike, but mind your ankles!. Be careful with the old carbs and your beard. No Jay Leno's. You can't swat that out fast enough, in some places.. Can't wait to see what you drag home next. Thanks.
That's about as cool as it gets!!!
Epic story and photos lol what a find
That's how real men do it! Great video guys.
That's not gonna help it run!! Hahaaa OGs man, the best
That’s great!
FANTASTIC
I have a a Triumph TR-6 with a Fairbanks Morse magneto and is a one kick bike.
When there are no roads, every motorcycle is an off roader.
😂 tow headed 4 eyes knows his Harleys. His oiled spark plugs were his ace it the hole on getting the exercise delivered to the kid. The side goal was getting everything pre-oiled before starting up.
Thanks
What a creation......
It ought to have more power than a ROKON has.. I like the Tractor tread rear tire. They need a differential and two rear wheel drive..
Gotta be one of your best videos, wish I could have been there.
Sweet bike!
You said 75 years, if the sportster came out in 1957 then that’s only 65 years or am I missing something? Nice addition to your collection.
66 years, I'm a 1957 vintage. Had me guessing my own age, lol.
Awesome!
My first Harley Davidson was a 1960 and it started hard in cold weather, they used to say you know how close to riding a sportster the rider was to getting it started was by how many clothes they were wearing 😂. The Linkert carburetor sucked and I ditched mine.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That was sick to watch ur right hand man is coool
Old guy said owww,I used to do that for my uncles 😂
Awesome 👍
Damn, that's sweet
Bro all of our gasket drawers look like that 😂
I grew up with a 1967 XLH Sportster bye bye I bought it in 1982 I still ride it when I can. I was in high school when I got it
Awesome awesome,
I highly recommend the movie "The John Penton Story"
Man I’m so ready to take a ride up there and visit this museum that’s crazy how they run 500 miles on ruff terrain I can tell with u just going up a driveway that’s a back breaker lol
Another kool video
These boys are mechanical geniuses
wow
Haha that was awesome…
I love this channel..hey if you ever feel charitable..I need help..❤I rode my whole life..was in a bike wreck in 08. I had my leg.tore off and reattached. I can't bend it enough o shift without highway pegs..I have a Honda grom clone with a 50 cc..it would be great with a 200 rebel engine but I dnt knkw hoe to do it..any suggestions would help..I was gna buy a 100th Aniversety sportster but the guy didn't wana sell it..wjen I got the cash he said he'd feel bad if I got hurt..so he wouldn't sell..I'm on a fixed income. So I'm glad it didn't work out..
Bikes are the only thing that makes me feel alive I can't walk well and can't run or even play drums anymore because of my leg..any suggestions..or if ypu see somthing that I could use let me know..its literally what I live for...if I was rich I could buy somthing but im not
.id need a cool trike or highway shifters and pegs on a light bike like a sportster or even a grom benefit with suicide shift..I'm wild or was so ..but regular scooters are fun till someone sees you on it or when ypu have to pull over to let 19 cars go by. Sad😢
Roar
THA GAS IS ON??? 😂
Would that be for sale
Not sketchy at all going up that hill on 50 yr old tyres 😂😂😂😂😂😊
HAHAHA The Harley plugs worked in your Corvette HMMMM
Wish I could get you to help with mine 😢
🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤙🏼🤙🏼🤙🏼
That Sportster sure ain't no girl's bike. It's as he-man as they get!
😅😅😅😅
I bet your buddy was thinking ,dang should have put on a helmet..maby he was heat effected on his dissension making lol
Funny how the dudes in their ads looked nothing like actual riders 😅
Sidecar, now we are talking...will need one for the knuck when I win it...just saying...😎
Next time y'all do that, how 'bout putting some gear on. I and the rest of the people that watch this channel want to see more of that...Yinz two be safe...
Grown men can make their own decisions about safety.
👍👍🇺🇸
If that bike hasn't run in 50 yrs. there's no way fuel would have been in that carburetor in liquid state. Maybe as varnish.
Restore it to original 👍
Save a leg. Turn on the gas!
You guys all screwed up ...must be the heat
hey Matt, wanna buy some Wall of death Indians?
Three primes and one kick (does not equal four), 77 XLCH.
👍
