Q: The step about verifying a minimal downstream demand which occurs at 1:50, is this done to prevent chatter or flutter at low flow? I have a situation where my team is being told we need to install low flow bypass in numerous valves (which happen to not be Dorot valves), and I am wondering if making sure this step is performed in commissioning might help avoid the need to do so?
+c_e , the purpose for this step is to calibrate the set point. once the set point achieved, downstream isolation valve can be opened. there is no need of a bypass in dorot valves as they work close to zero flow without chattering (as declared on dorot's catalogue - please check with S300 electronic catalogue that can be downloaded for free from dorot website.
I'm not sure to understand your question. Anyway, all S300 Dorot valves (model 30 - 31 - 32) has sealing disc with LTP (r) system. It´s allow regulate with very low flow, near 0 (zero flow). It´s one of Dorot´s valve strenghts. Pressure reducing station installed with VRP S300 Dorot doesn´t need by-pass to low flow. Eventually, by-pass is installed with mechanical valve (butterfly , gate, etc), used just during pipeline filling or maintenance period.
Do this valve need instrumental air suply ?

Hi Wilfredo. Pilot used in demonstration is 3 way, similar 31-310; (both 3w). Is the same procedure.
