We have a 2018 Crosstrek Limited and I had this “new” model for a loaner for a day. Wow, the upgraded engine is SO much better suited for it than the 2.0. SO MUCH better! And I agree, the seats are more comfortable. The shape hasn’t changed, but maybe it’s because the leather in ours is so stiff and the SofTex material is more forgiving. Hate the Plasma Yellow.
They got rid of Sunshine Orange for that plasma baby poo yellow. I was going to trade in my 2019 Touring but changed my mind because of this. I'm not a fan of what they did with the squared off and extra chonky plastic cladding.
I actually appreciate the manual hand brake for the rear. As someone who lived in the frosty Dakotas for years, the hand brake is key to maintaining control on ice, slush, and mud. Couple that with the AWD and traction control systems and you've got yourself a vehicle that will tackle the worst winter roads with the grace of an Olympic figure skater.
I would argue that the crosstrek isn’t the most fun car, but it is the best bang-for-your buck and it will get you anywhere you need to go on and off road. Also, it has great mpg, space, and safety features.
Just saying my 4 year old outback has a crankshaft seal oil leak already and its a 2017. Has the same engine and all the maintenance is done so look for oil leaks so it gets fixed under warranty if it happens to you

If it was truly a 90's retro design, it wouldn't have a grill opening above the bumper line. I blame Audi for the trend of making the fake oversized grills that run above and below the bumperline. The actual cooling intake area doesn't need to be as big as the gapping mouth of a Mazda CX-30 makes it out to be.
I have been saying for a few years now, that they should truly STi the Crosstrek. Have the 245 HP motor from the WRX, tuned suspension, dual clutch and manual, and a front bash plate. Perhaps even a .5 -1 inch lift over stock. I would definitely love to have that.
As a previous owner of a Subaru Outback, I can attest to how bad Subaru CVT's really are. Combined with the loud valve train noise coming from the flat 4.
I have been driving my 2021 crosstrek limited for almost 6 months and I love it! So I think that's a better buy than the outdoor trim if you want these

I've have the Sport edition (American equivalent to Outdoor) since August 2020 and the auto start/stop was super rough until 3,000 miles in. Now it does it smoothly.
hey, I have a 2019 Crosstrek that I easily passed a Mercedes, Audi, some pick up trucks, and Mazda with lite acceleration. I drove it to work with no problem ever being late for the past 2 years so don't be saying they're slow cause they're not. it drives like your average car everyday car.
I agree. Vast majority of the people on here have no idea what they are talking about. Saying this as a '16 Crosstrek Limited owner, who traded it for a '19 Crosstrek Premium, and then upgraded it to the '21 Sport.
Had my Crosstrek sport for a couple months now. Pretty good review, I feel a lot about what you said is true to the car. The cvt is the big killer to the whole car. Other than that, it is a great adventure vehicle.
For a crosstrek 2.5 is perfect and I’m glad I waited for the extra 30hp. The power leather seats and the led steering responsive headlights were the deciding factor for picking a limited over the sport/outdoor. Also the us doesn’t have a front camera... Overall cons from owning the car for 5 months is there’s no ac vents in the back. Then hatch light barely lights up anything. The cup holder do fit most cup but it’s too big they will just wobble around.
Picked up one of these a couple of weeks ago. Swapped my wife's 2018 Audi Q3. Frankly it does everything well, great value, room for 4 easily and my large dog in the blackening, engine enough for around the crappy winter streets in Calgary. Other than not having 4 rings on the front it is just better at half the price.
I’ve driven mine since September and what I can tell you is: • It’s a lot faster on intelligent mode and 3/4 foot down, it’s fake shifting 3500 to 4200 rpm 12 x in the best way • Infotainment bugs once in a while, no radio, doesn’t hang up calls or no Apple Carplay If you live somewhere that the roads are awful, this is perfect. Subaru Canada. You need to modify the options on the models you offer there. The Crosstrek Limited in the USA has the 2.5 litre, LED's and Eyesight. The advantage the Canadian version has is the front camera and heated steering wheels.
