Compared to you, Linus makes scrub tier builds with rgb lighting levels that would make Las Vegas jealous.

pretty sweet build, though id perhaps consider removing the shim around the gpu die, it will take some time but ensure the cooler you put on the gpu stays on the chip without having the glue rise over time pushing the shim upwards.

64 mb dedicated too it i think, might be more it can grab from vram.
In 3dmark 2001se hitting bit faster numbers then this pentium III build atm.
No settings changed in 3dmark 2001se here.
Just overclocking the integrated ATI x300 graphics its at 391 core & 251 mhz memory atm as its running behind me, hit just about 7704 points in 3dmark 2001se here.

It's an incredible hardware mount for it's time, except for the innovatek "airtrap" which was really failing at his job to prevent air from circulating on the water circuit. We can see it very well on your video (we can see the vortex and air that is sucked despite the waterflow is quite low due tiny tubs diameter). This was making the pump quite noisy. I remember to have mod both my 1048 pump and airtrap in order to circumvent this issue.
I was really annoyed by the noise of my P4 + R 9700 so I decided water-cool them. At this time it was really harder to build a silent powerfull setup so I ended up buying 10 modules of first gen cape cora passive radiators. That was not the best idea in the world! I had to mod it for a quite high cost in order to have a reasonable water flow.

Any chance there was an option of adding 2 more gigs? Or were these the biggest boards they made for sdram? 2gb is good for up to 2010, while 4 goes up to 13-15. Also can you run crysis? Mine some crypto with it? 7zip a dvd? Do some cad modeling?

You can clearly see how the system's weak point manifests itself in DOOM 3. There is not enough bandwidth for the system bus, which is divided between two processors. I also have a dual-processor Board (SuperMicro P3TDDE), and when monitoring games like HL2, DOOM 3 - either loaded 1 processor, or two but half. Moreover, when overclocking the bus at least to 140 MHz, the load of processors increases(apparently they are less idle if the bandwidth of the bus increases).

D3 or HL2 are to strong for R300 GPU. Yes two CPUs are quite pointless for old games.

@@RETROHardware I use different versions of GF6800 in my builds, they are enough. And I put the frame limit at 30fps in the above games. With 1024x768 you can even enable 2x anti aliasing)

I used to run a dual Pentium 3 setup...1Ghz I think. Still have it around somewhere lol. Paired with a good Nvidia graghics, was a good system for a long time.

Nice job , i saw the psu and the case (i remember it all aluminium whith lateral door open, showing the piston and the beautiful indoor ), obviusly i din´t had money. Case = 1000 buks and psu = 650 buks in these moment, and mobo with two processor was not common to see. Regards from Argentina

If you put this build up for auction today it would go for the same cost to build 20 years ago. If not more. This is the ultimate machine. Dual boot 98SE and XP

I once found a very rare duel tualatin motherboard that had DDR RAM. But after installing and testing I realised it was a waste for gaming with period specific graphics (Voodoo 5). In fact the single TUSL-2 Asus outperformed it with its SDR and 512mb. So I think the dual configuration is probably best if you wanted to run a Linux machine on vintage hardware with a more modern graphics card.

i doubt it will do wonders for modern super high end hardware, but i wonder what could be viable in here as a sleeper build
