There’s no way people with 80k+ cars are gonna let a 16yo detail their car🤣
Exactly hahaha risk getting swirls and scuff marks on my pride and joy lol
To fix this, I'd just record myself detailing a car and then show the client a sped up version to the final product
@@farispena1819 okkkk go ahead bud
Eh, you're taking a risk anytime you let someone else touch your car, regardless of age
I’d disagree, I worked at a detail shop right after graduating high school and I detailed many cars that were around 100k
the last person i’d let detail my vehicle or be even near the paint is a 16 year old looking for a side hustle. be fr

That would be a 16 year old trying to run a business. And if the person has record of detailing cars and can show proof of work? I don’t see why not.
@@SpecterKami you can't start a business without knowledge or experience. So no the logic doesn't make sense here. yeah dude fr. There was a kid in our neighborhood trying to do this and I was just like "no offense dude, but you're not gonna get far with that cheap soap, barf bucket, dirty sponge and beach towel". He came back a few times and each time I told him the same thing. Didn't see him after two months, I hope he quit because his work was dogshit.
If you’re going to detail really nice cars like that, $100 is probably too low, and you should probably carry some kind of liability insurance, just in case.
This nobody in their right mind is going to give you a Porsche Mercedes or anything else without some sort of insurance especially if you’re doing paint correction if you mess up the paint, it’s quite expensive and it’s going to ruin you if you have to pay it out of pocket, but for the average consumer, you can do stuff to the car and it won’t really matter But I’ve also had my old cars redone for swirls/holograms. The best person to find is the mom or dad who is quite busy who has one to three children or has no children and one or two pets and to keep on top of their car the child or the dog will keep the car, at least dirty enough to be plausible to be cleaned and they’re gonna love the fact that they don’t look like a complete disaster
@@Justanotheraccount19 you can now sell a masterclass
Can confirm. I ran a detailing business for 5 years. I’d use 75 in product for a basic detail. This price would leave me 25 in profit, minus my time. Assuming the paint would be ok with a single pass. I have done details that used well over 100 in products
@@garnetreecejones9222details don't all include the same services. The monthly detail for example could not include waxing or rim cleaning that can be an add-on. You would also have people that may have two or three cars so you're at $300 per month with one stop. Got to think outside the box my man.
@@garnetreecejones9222 Would offering an interior-only detail remedy this problem?
Except $100 is insanely cheap for a real detail.
A good detail is easily $300 and takes awhile.
Now if you do a $100 discount for monthly revenue and make $200 per month that starts to make a bit more sense. But a real detail takes a lot more.
I guess to put it better, he’s telling guys to offer a discount on the first detail, in return for the customer hopping on the monthly maintenance detail plan. Maintenance detailing doesn’t take that much time and money, especially when you’ve done all the hard work the first time and now you’re coming back to a relatively clean car. You can make this an exclusive deal only to people who want the monthly subscription, and still charge ~$300 for those who don’t. But building up a list of recurring customers has a lot of advantages. You don’t have to constantly do marketing to get new customers all the time, you work with less filthy and difficult cars and save your energy, and you still get jobs during the colder months when less people are looking to get their car detailed, to name a few.
A 16 year old isn’t doing a real detail. Probably just a wash and wax.
Detailing a car that got detailed last month shouldn't be much
Its to build a client list that come back regularly and if those people are safisfied with the service they will probably tell others about you. When you have enough clients you can higher the price. Some might find it too expensive with the higher price but you're getting more money per customer now for the same amount of time spent per client so if you lose a few it doesnt matter

Where you from, my guy? Here at 16, students have 11 hour school days and 5 - 6 hours study after that as well

Bruh no way I'd ever have time for this. The amount of homework I get is enough and the amount of sleep I get isn't 😔
If your priority in life is homework and sleep, the advise is probably not for you. I know business owners who sleep 3-5 hours. I also get a bunch of kids who wipes my tables at night, and clocks out and goes to school the next day.

Yeah that's a really good point about being 16. I think people forget about school after they leave it lol. Honestly, like three cars every Saturday could be doable though. 12 clients. $1200/ month - supplies. 8 a.m.- 4 p.m. Saturdays. Plus at that point if things are going really well you might have a decision to make at 18 years old. Expand to three cars a day, 6 days a week and make $7,200 pre-tax per month ($86,400/ year), or go to college for 4 years so you can come out and start making 50k (pre-tax) per year. Raise your prices a few % each year with inflation. Stretch and do 4 cars a day for 6 days a week and you will hit $115,200 pre-tax. People work for 5 to 10 years after college to try to hit that number. You could hit it before your friends are done with college in the right areas. Hype!!

Yo lets talk more about this, I have some questions bro!
This is a good way to work. Imagine not just a car you can say “for x amount of dollars I’ll clean your front and back yard every month. It doesn’t just have to be a car.
Time would be an issue then. Idk about how long do companies detail a car since i do it by myself, but it takes me about 3 - 4 hours to get everything really cleaned, not just surface level clean. Especially if the car is cleaned once a month. He wouldn't even have time to clean his own car or backyard.
@@svenjakopcevic6544which is exactly why people pay you, for your turn, because they don’t want to spend their time on that which makes them willing to pay you
I bet in uae, many locals (arabs) have many cars and it would be great to start a business like you said!
Except that UAE imo is very very anti small business. Speaking from experience. TMU you'd need a licence which will probably cost 10s of thousands of dirhams, or equivalent to around thousands of dollars. Now, where on earth is a person in their early 20s going to get 1000s of dollars to pay upfront let alone a 16 year old?!
This concept of expensive licenses in the UAE may be very interesting for rich companies to pay upfront and then not worry much about taxes but for someone like me who just wants to start out, I'd rather pay taxes on money I've already earned rather than not be able to start a business in the first place, not because I can't afford the business cost but because I can't afford the exorbitant license fees.
Strongly believe UAE policies need a change.
I've been wanting to do business here but the expensive upfront license fees is holding me back.

I thought of this last year and no one supported my idea in my family and now this is in my feed
Y’all need to realize that detailing a car that already got cleaned last month is much easier it won’t be as dirty.
If you are only 16. Find people out there that have those really expensive cars and offer to clean those cars for free. In return you should ask them to teach you about making/ managing money so they can afford those really nice cars/ houses. That information is infinitely more valuable for your future than the $100 for a 16 year old.
Live in real world boy
No
14 years old, going to start!
The funny thing is, every detail shop and mobile detailer on the planet including myself has a subscription service. Detailing is very inconsistent and the only way to guarantee money on a consistent basis is with recurring customers which having a subscription service will encourage. If you don’t have a subscription service you start from zero every time you take on a customer.
I did this, I also did an additional increase for lawn keeping, and housekeeping, on top of dog walking.
Remember this is $1,200 a year per person. Last I checked there's about 30 days in a month. That's a lot of $1200.
Unique edge becomes not so unique when you tell everyone on the internet about it
That also depends of the quality of work you'll do.
First thing before anything is getting competent and confident
I’m in my 30s now and I’m a recovering addict with nothing, this is a good businsss model for anyone
Monthly maintenance clients is my whole business. It’s great
It’s funny because I actually started doing details a few months ago and I have many repeat customers this will boost greatly boost my relationship with them with a plan like this
A great place to do this is at a golf course I grew up right down the road from one and there are plenty of older wealthy people not only willing to make friends but also be mentors it’s a great hobby if you can afford it
Now everyone has that edge
As a 18 year old with a detailing business this is great advice and what I strive for my clientele to be I have quite a few but am working on getting to the point of just doing my regulars.
How much do you spend in operation expenses?
Also. Just advice for all the detailers out there. Go easy on the armor all. Especially on the steering wheel. Noting is worse than grabbing your steering wheel and having your hand feel oily because the retailer poured 3/4ths of a bottle directly onto it.
I wish we had RUclips shorts 11 years ago when I was 16 now I’m just stuck working with a semi healed back. Have a great day !

Just started this and I’m in my 20’s thanks 😂❤
My mom has been searching for this service. Prices are crazy and they keep up selling. Besides the fact that the phone was listening to us this morning make calls- this is a useful job.
One guy literally upped the price on the normal detailing(from 167 to 267) cause my mom wouldn't get the deluxe package. Just do a good job and charge reasonable prices!
Here’s some tips from a fellow mobile detailer
(it is key to note its two of us working)
A good tip is to look for someone with multiple cars as it is easier to detail 4 cars in one spot rather than going city to city doing that.
Most people won’t look for a detail and finding people who do is hard. Which why just washing the car racks in the most cash, were we charge 60 per car, and for a detail about 150.
Also target truckers, must the ones I’ve met want a wash weekly and it doesn’t take that much time you can wash those for 100 minimum and aside from that they might also tell you to wash their cars, i usually give those people discounts.
Aside from that we’ve made deals with companies to go every week, we’ve made about $900 once as we got hella employees who wanted a wash that day.
The only problems:
Weather is a hell of a problem in California so you gotta account for that, depending on you region.
It is time consuming and it is extremely tiring working outside in the heat every day.
Aside from that it is better than working a minimum wage job imo.
Y’all bro I don’t think I can go from working in a butter factory to car detailing
Thank you! I'll see you a year from today
I'm 14 and I detail cars. Like make them basically new from my parents driveway. Never knocked on a door for detailing, I should've but I'm honestly just too shy. But they come to me because I turn filthy cars around to look brand new in a few hours.
4x the money for 6x the work, the man’s a genius
Actually 2x the money for 6x the work
Alot of people get a car wash and a car detail confused 😂
“Exit value” doesn’t exist if the value is contingent on your specific labor lol.
This is nice be the scaling isn’t there you would have to make major shift once your calendar was full if you ever want to make more money.
There it goes the secret edge that no one has
im 16 with anxiety and no car detailing knowledge
I work at auto bell rn low key sick and tired of depending on tips, one day I’ll figure it all out and have a good car detailing business I just need to learn how to wash carpets we damn near do everything else besides that😂
Recurring/Retainers are often more professional and beneficial for both parties.
Remember, money is just a transfer of value. High cost doesn't reduce value. Just fill a niche.
Ain't no one around me rich enough for that
This is so smart but yet so simple
I started this business at 17, bought and van and all my equipment and was making over 7k a month in the late 90’s working my own hours. It works
Take it from someone who did this only 2 years ago before I left for college: this is completely achievable. Just a matter of knocking on doors and getting recommendations. This and lawn mowing are the 2 easiest “hustle” jobs that are actually achievable for high schoolers with a car/truck and a couple hundred dollars for start up costs
Great advice.
A Full Professional Detail in NY by me you're paying $200 - $350.
Just trying get a cheaper detailing hahah this guys pulling some Jedi mind tricks
My homie is still in high school and has been living on his own since 16. He’s 18 now and has built his business detailing cars and working whenever he wants too. no specific schedule and makes way more than me working at my boring job. Figure out how to make money on your own
And build that up. You’ll be free and happy.
I WISH I HAD THIS ADVICE AT 16!!
An edge that no one else has, oh except for the other 10 million other people watching this
remember families will be sad to sell the family house after having it for years even if location is down. but will not bat an eye at the family its self fractured or disfunctioned
Well now everyone has the edge
Nope best thing to do is see the competitions prices, undercut them, and do better than them. You get more by volume. Friend from high school started doing it, only charges $65 for a full detail on a normal size car, but he does it better than anyone. Has his own company now, prices are still the same, and mostly deals in high brand cars such as porches
sad thing is nobody has that kinda money these days unless your going too these nicer neighborhoods.
Damn thanks for giving away my edge
Clean someone’s car? I don’t even clean my room. ✨🚗✨ 🤣🤣🤣
