This class is amazed, u explained well and i found your video more helpful than others available on youtube. But, here i would like to inform others that this video don't include "Functions of Language" proposed by Sir Jacobson and these Functions are very important. So must study that Functions too after understanding model from here.😊
Welcome! Thanks for your beautiful words. "Functions" and "Models" are interchangeably used. Both are having the same objectives to achieve. So, please don't confuse. ❤
@tasnimalbahi2154 Hopefully I will make a lesson on the topic. Please first let me finish 2 or 3 more topics covering “Interdisciplinary Branches” of Linguistics. In case, it slips out of my mind, please remind me after a week or so. However, I have noted it down. You mean ‘Dell Hymes Model of Language’? Am I right? Thanks
Thank you so much for the very well explanation, Sir. But I would like to ask you something because I got a little bit confused... Are these six elements of communication related to the functions of language such as referential, emotive, conative, phatic, metalingual, and poetic, Sir? Thank you so much ^^
Thank you so much for your appreciation. 👍👍🌹Yes, they are related to functions of language. We should keep in mind that many language thinkers have described about functions of language in their own different ways. The prominent ones among them are Roman Jakobson, Dell Hymes, Bloom, Ferdinand de Saucer…They all have talked about functions of language as they have perceived. Well! Ways of expressions may vary from one another but fundamental principles remain the same. For more information, please follow the link to see how they differ in ways but principally ideas remain the same. Thanks. ruclips.net/p/PLSeSF4UO1R4z5lw3zwmU8wi1ibZMx54NW&si=zWG0Z3OXQPpuZtfr
