    My secret weapon to grow aquarium plants emersed is to add some springtails. This little guys make the emersed plant setup bioactive. Because they naturally feed on stuff like algae mould and fungus.

    It's a beautiful scape! I liked the before and the remake equally. They both remind me of high elevation mountain landscapes which always have very low vegetation (like Monte Carlo looks!). Seeing how you make the stream with the cosmetic sand was very helpful as was the part about the little detail rocks (now I want to go break some rocks!). Thanks!

    One thing I would love to see you do is a low tech set up. One that takes as much effort and time to set up as a high tech set up, but with no CO2 etc for those of us who don't use it so we can see how achievable it is!

    I like the soil storage video idea! I really enjoyed this video. I really liked the original layout and it was even better when you redid it! I love how you drew the line down the center of the tank and showed us how to zig-zag the rock placement to achieve this look. I love the perspective and how you don't see the corners in the back of the tank... I had one of those moments.. an epiphany and it all made sense 😂😁 most people probably understood this concept but to a beginner trying to figure all this out you did a great job explaining it! This was a great tutorial and I actually "get it " now where I can attempt to achieve this myself.. I have me some Monte Carlo coming in and I can't wait to try this lazy dry start!..
    I liked your cologne idea... throw some tropica soil and a touch of aquarium water and you can use it for aftershave 😂😂
    Very informative and thank you so much for sharing!👍🐟🌱🌿♥️

    Hey Jurijs, ein wirklich sehr inspirierendes Video! Ich bin total begeistert 👍. Das sieht tatsächlich super einfach aus bei dir. Ich fühlte mich zwischendurch an den guten alten Bob Ross erinnert😉. Der Werdegang eines Scapes und der eines Bildes sind ja irgendwie schon vergleichbar. Mich fasziniert es, wie aus dem anfänglichen "Steinehaufen im Soil" eine so perfekte und detaillierte Landschaft entsteht. Bei dir ist dabei jeder Schritt super nachvollziehbar 👍. Ich danke dir dafür und freue mich auf weitere Videos.

    I'm working on a dry start now with MC and HC. I wish I had seen this before I got started. I don't think I got my soil wet enough at the start and then I got a bit of mold, which I treated with Hydrogen Peroxide. That seems to have done the trick. But, then I began "burping' the tank a couple times a day to avoid mold and some of the MC looks to have dried out. Not a huge problem, and the HC seems to be doing well. But I'll know better for next time. :) Oh, and I love how you poured the sand from the back to see where nature would take it. That's a real pro tip!

    • @JurijsJutjajevs
      @JurijsJutjajevs  3 года назад +1

      Hey Ryan, thanks for joining. You want to keep the plants moist, but avoid too much moist in the substrate. I guess I will have to do a 30 day DSM diary to explain better how often and how much to spray during a DSM. Also using springtails has been a game changer. And common mistake is too little and weak light during DSM

    • @rydanoel

    Love the way you mix different sizes of pebbles / sand/ rocks. If I would change something is the fact that both sides ( left and right) have the same height, I feel it could be far more interesting if one of the "peaks" would be elevated. Also there is no shade, maybe throw in a tree that would generate some? Anyways, great job, thanks for the video!

    Jurijs, just a suggestion... as you did it in the dojo, make an arc on both sides with the substrate in the front. It will give that fish eye perspective as if the landscape is taken from a Mars Rover...non-traditional but will be a good change. You know better, but thought of making a suggestion.

    Hey, how do you keep right water parameters with all those rocks in scapes, eg. for fish that don’t tolerate hard water and high pH? Love your work!

    Great Video Jurijs!
    You're right, soil smell is the best. Tropica should produce a soil parfume, I'll use it for every single date.😝 I really like the layout you built, extremly grest sence of scale in such a small tank! Damn I want to fake that😂

      @@JurijsJutjajevs I guess it's better to apply on places that are not visible? Great thing though!

    Love the scape. I preferred the mock-up, but I can't object to the results of the finished product. I've always been interested in doing a 'mountain path' scape like this with a few little shrimp and 3-4 Corydoras catfish. The only thing I'd like is a way to keep the contrast of the dark soil and lush planting separate from the light sand of the pathway, so I could just trim the plants back and not worry so much about them taking root in it. Any tips to accomplish that?

    Hey Jurijs, Hi From Lockdown Melbourne Australia!! Your videos are amazing and have inspired me to dive right into the hobby!! Tell me, is it normal after a couple of weeks to experience slight die-back and yellowing of monte-carlo using the DSM? Thanking you in advance.
