  • Watch My Night Visit To Borley :
    • Borley Rectory, The On...
Here I take a brief tour of Borley Church, and the site of the once Most Haunted House In England, Borley Rectory. With a comprehensive account of its history, I explore its earlier Catholic associations and explain why that is relevant to the reported paranormal phenomena that has propelled it to infamy.
Sadly I was unable to enter the Church due to its security arrangement, so I will be planning another visit and a third video to include the inside of the Church and the Waldegrave monument.

Very well written and researched, unbiased, balanced and easy to follow. Interesting to know more about the Wargrave family.

Thank you it is very much appreciated. I felt that it's the part of the story that rarely gets told, and in reality is the heart of the mythos of Borley Rectory.

A little bit of interest is if you search for the rectory on google maps it still shows the rectory outline on map view.

Thank you for a more in-depth video especially on the Waldegrave family and the background of borley church.

Thank you for the nice comment. This video was largely stuff that I needed to understand myself to fill in the blanks, being such an avid fan of the Borley saga for many years. I thought after doing the research I may as well put it in a video and share it. The actual film work was only ever meant to be rough test so its a bit shakey and bad camera work. But there is certainly no other video on Borley which goes into this specific side of the history. Blessings and welcome.

Very well researched, unlike some videos on RUclips, you kept to the facts.

Thank you. Yes I think the place gets over hyped and the locals just want to play down the legend. I mean it is a legendary place, but I think the spirits have quite relaxed themselves there now and the place is pretty much at peace. I tried to delve into the history that is most often disregarded because of the hype of the rectory. But really the earlier history of the Waldegraves is what sets the scene for the later hauntings.

Shirley Jackson's "The Haunting of Hill House" drew heavily on the legends of Borley.

I might have to binge watch the mini series of the same name then, I know it got good reviews, but is only loosely based on the book apparently.

Hey thanks, that would be a good date to visit definitely, will make a note of that. That is me in red, Shane O'Sullivan AKA Shoestring Shane. I don't find Borley that scary to be honest, check out my other video where I visited at night on my own. I think churches are generally calm places, it's ancient forests that I probably find most scary, like Epping Forest or Hockley Woods.

Thank You so much!. As a catholic Christian (not from UK) I hope one day England becomes catholic again. Because of religious origin, how it is was at the time of King Alfred the Great. Keep it up, much love from the european continent.

Thank you for the love and appreciation, and blessings from the UK. I just wish Britain would embrace more its Christian heritage. There is so much good honest power to be gained through Christ, but the quick and fast route to power via wealth is largely favoured! Anyway, must just keep on keeping on.

😂😂 Louis Mayerling admitted he and the staff faked all the ghosts. Harry Price was a charlatan. Nice church though, only live an hour away. Nice topiary shrubs.

Marianne Foyster was also having an affair with the lodger and they used the 'hauntings' as a cover at various times for that affair, so would have exaggerated the situation during their stay.
