    Zeitgeist - Moving Forward (2011)
    Director: Peter Joseph
    Writers: Peter Joseph
Stars: Peter Joseph(voice), Robert Sapolsky, Gabor Maté
    Genre: Documentary
    Country: United States
    Language: English
    Release Date: 15 January 2011
    Duration: 161 min
    Storyline:
A feature length documentary work which presents a case for a needed transition out of the current socioeconomic monetary paradigm which governs the entire world society. This subject matter will transcend the issues of cultural relativism and traditional ideology and move to relate the core, empirical "life ground" attributes of human and social survival, extrapolating those immutable natural laws into a new sustainable social paradigm called a "Resource-Based Economy".
    Reviews:
"This is the best entry in the entire "Zeitgeist" series and it's also one of my favorite documentaries ever made! I generally don't review documentaries, but this was an exception given that it's possibly the most voted on direct to video movie series ever created! I really did enjoy this because it really focused on the importance of the individual. This is also the longest documentary I've ever seen! It was great that it was very organized and divided into four different parts. I am also so glad that it didn't reference those stupid 911 conspiracy theories at all. This is a truly irrational idea that no one should support.
This movie actually seemed to show off a much more positive aspect of religion. Well, it still doesn't quite support it, but it does mention some religious groups who would rather go to jail than go to war. The film's most important part is probably when it reveals what the biggest killer of all is. After mentioning some of history's worst dictators, it mentions how poverty is the most dangerous thing to the most people. Then again, Joseph Stalin and Mao Zedong did in fact directly cause famines and deaths of starvation. Well, I'd probably have to do more research.
We first see what it is that makes people evil. It argues the case that it's something that isn't natural. It's great to learn more about the economy. It makes you realize what the true value of money is and how our society is functioning. We realize that there are certain things that everyone must do no matter what your ideals are. You could consider nature a dictatorship as it dictates you must obey the laws of science and need certain things to survive. With the increasing population, these things will always will a problem. I don't always agree with these films, but I found this to be the best of them all." -Written by ericstevenson on IMDb.com

The first video changed my perceptions and life. Since then, I spent 8 years, off grid, with the intent to not buy things. I didn't have a rent bill or an electric bill. It was life changing to see the value in not having so much stuff and stress. I've spent a couple years back in the city and I can't wait to do it again! We must make the change and stop buying the stuff. I'm turning away from farming to gathering, which is a big leap I've not accomplished yet, but that's the newest goal. Little changes, every day, wherever you are in life.

I am watching this slowly so that I can think about it and then observe my own environment. I am now 68 and what I have watched so far has me recalling the thoughts of my childhood telling my parents you may control my actions but my brain belongs in my body and my thoughts are mine. Little did i understand how much their control over my body impacted my thoughts. Freedom from that control to grow and learn has made my perception of things a wonderful gift of curiosity. Finding this must be one of those gifts on my path. Thank you.

A partner showed me the original zeitgeist movie, and it changed me. Now you know there are more people looking to help at the local levels. This is the antidote to the systems discussed here. It is a movement growing and growing. It is not vocal, it is not violent or showy. But we are here and are willing to serve as a foundation for those who want to move into a saner expression of ourselves.
Now if you have hope in knowing this, radiate it into all that you do, think and feel. It makes a difference. Thankyou.

@@zigginzag584 I am not going to tell you whether or not I have children, but what I will say is this:
So many people have children and they never accomplish wholeness in their own lives. Not to mention, there are TONS of children in our society that do not have parents or care. You can literally go adopt a kid if you want to have one. My work is caring for adults who never recovered from being broken children. Helping children who had parents not ready to care for them or love them unconditionally.
If you want people to have more kids, maybe fight to raise the minimum wage, reduce housing costs, help homelessness, fight for public education systems to improve, fight to end food deserts, the list goes on.
You can tell people to have children, but you have NO IDEA if they are fit to care for that child. 3 million children die each year from starvation and malnutrition, and that isnt even counting those who are abused or neglected or worse.

I remember a documentary I saw in the early 80s that showed how Brazil was something like 80% independent from oil and working toward total independence. and all of their cars were run on their own homegrown and manufactured bio fuel in cars manufactured and purchased in the US. The same Chevys and Fords we were driving. And their fuel was cheaper! But to be sold to Brazil the US manufacturers had to redesign them to run on the biofuels. And they did. I have always wondered why we werent doing the same thing. They had all kinds of excuses. Now I realize it must have been about profit. I can only wonder just how badly we've been stifled for who knows how long, by greedy corporate powers that be. It turns my stomach to think about them sucking the life out of the planet and people. Where will it all end? AND ( it still rattles me) those cars didnt cost the Brazillians any more to purchase than it cost us here at home! They have had their share of troubles too, but Brazil has been a very Progressive, Modern country for a very long time. They may even manufacture their own cars there now. I havent checked. But I wouldnt be surprised.

I really loved the idea of cities on the sea. This documentary and the ones before have given me hope of a better future for all mankind, animals, plants, trees, water & air. May more understand how important this all is. Thank you for all the hard work you do in trying to educate as many people as you can. Getting the things you need and having goods distributed based on needs sounds good until you start to question "Who gets to decide what my needs are? Is their determination of my needs and wants more valuable than my own determinations? What happens if I need something, but those in charge have determined that my needs are unimportant? What if the one who distribute goods and services have decided that the collective's needs supersede my individual rights? Or, what if the collective's needs are in direct opposition to my child's needs?"
I think a lot of you have subscribed to these ideals because you believe that people will treat each other kindly and with compassion, respect, empathy and that we all want to be equal... which is an extremely naïve way of looking at the world. It should be clear that we don't all want the same things, and some people don't want to be equal. Some people want to be better, some people want more, some people will take a bigger slice of the pie. No matter what you do, no matter who you vote for, no matter if you don't vote, no matter what system of government is in place... there will always be a group of people who don't mind taking a little extra, even if that means you and yours get a little less. The system being advocated here is one that is easily manipulated and will lead to more inequality than we have now. Your support for this system is based on the fantasy that YOU will benefit from this new system, when in fact you'll more likely become it's victim.

To forewarn further viewers you may wish to turn off the sound down/off at the following timelines of this video.. due to High Pitch frequencies (MK?) just after video introduction, @ 00:41, @ 1Hr:29 @ 2Hrs:11.The tone is uncomfortable and questionable as to why it is here. They last for about a minute each time. Very insightful video, although I am left with the sense of wonderment on whether this is putting a positive spin on WEF's "Smart Cities, human Tracking, restriction of movements and restrictions on freedom of choice, movement and thinking". Interesting statements from 2:10 "redesigning an environment" wanting to no longer allow or support as "freedom of choices concepts are dangerous" Free will = misinformation.

We think similarly... I also am suspicious of the frequency emitted in the video. I, too, see the similarities with WEF ideologies. Is this just a clever attempt to mask their true intentions of global dominion? Or ... Are they pretending to want this (and publicly promoting a modified version that people can demonize) because it will make them obsolete and actually solve our problems, rulers being one of them? They have myriad tricks up their sleeves, and you're right to question every radical solution... but ask yourself... what would an actual solution look like? The difference in the solutions presented here and the WEF agenda is clear to me... who is in control of it all... the people or the leaders?

@@ladyguerlain3707 , Really! An a lot of Drs don't take especially if you need a specialist. My husband was struck down by a heart attack and colon cancer at the same time. He was let go at his job,for they couldn't hold it for him. We couldn't afford to keep his insurance on us both ,we would now be paying the total cost. Just for him it was six hundred a month. I was still at my retail job, only income we had coming in. Couldn't afford the insurance they offered. We were told that we would be better off trying to find a policy on our own. The affordable care act was just in, I had hope. Talked with a rep, cheapest I could get,was 500 a month, a six thousand dollars deductible, and payed very little on meds. My husband was turned down for disability. He was nearing sixty two,and was told to take early retirement. Which would always decrease his monthly payment. Plus he would have to wait until he turned sixty five to get his Medicare. We got a lawyer, during my husband's surgery the surgeon screwed up,cut both his ureters to the kidneys. Didn't know he had done so. Long story, he almost didn't make it . He had a colostomy performed.By the time they finally figured it out, three weeks! Nothing could be done but put in nephrostomy tubes. I know informed the lawyer who was representing him, about his now condition. He thinks is me he had talked with the Social Security lawyer . That my husband had a perfect work history. Never had a period of not working , before an after his time in the ye military. He just didn't wake up one morning and decide he didn't want to work anymore. He got his disability, but had to wait another year before he got his Medicare. It was hard, no help nowhere. It took basically his income to pay his insurance policy each month, and buy his meds. We still had a mortgage, so close to having it paid off. Plans were to have it paid off by his retirement, I am seven years younger than him . But he planned on to keep doing Heat an Air. He was a technician. I kept working, took on a second job, trying to take care of him,an all his health issues. We turned down the surgeon suggesting he needed more adjuvant chemo.Went to his oncologist whom was surprised and left the exam room to go make a phone call.Came back in 15:minutes stating he needed three months of adjuvant chemo, a pump could be used, to deliver it. Of course a port had to be done, I was like, but he has two wounds, ports going directly into his kidneys, draining urine outside the body.He not only poops in a bag, but because of the surgeon, he now has two nephrostomys. He will be fighting kidney infections as it is. Chemo will wipe out his immune system. He had already done months if chemo and radiation. An unknown to any of them, I had went to medical records an asked for copies. The lady looked at me as if I don't blame you.bI didn't receive all of them, there were thousands of pages. But I got enough. No lymph node had cancer, no cancer at the margins( each end of the colon section removed). We told the oncologist we had to think about it. He said ok,he had some time. We never went back. Our lives were changed forever. This year will be fifteen years, he is cancer free . He still has the colostomy and nephrostomies. Nephrostomy has to be changed out every three months. I have to change his bandages that go over the opening to his kidneys everyday.bHe has a pacemaker. We still in our home, we both have good insurance, we each have a supplement plan that picks up all our costs, like deductibles and copays. It was hard,I was stressed,so was he. But we made it . What we have we worked for.Looking back, we worked for the government, they took state taxes, plus federal taxes. Thousands upon thousands of hard earned money went to them before we got a penny of what we worked for. Just one couple out of millions of people doing the same . Working two jobs didn't help us any, no dependants, so I owed them most of what I had made from part time work. Not worth it, that's sad right there. And raising our kids,no child tax credit. If there's all this help out there, I've never had any of it. Never mind working. I believe you should be able to keep your money, not give over half of your income to the government. By the way, we never made over sixty thousand a year, combining both our incomes.

The only problem I have with this documentary is it's stance against private property. Having a "lending center" where people can borrow an item they need to use, such as a blender or a can opener, would mean that a person's usage of these items would be tracked. In short, the kind of society suggested in this doc is one without privacy for the individual. We need to get rid of usury and fiat currency. Doing this would go along way towards fixing our system. Communism/socialism is NOT the answer. "Strategic access"=tracking what you use and how often you use it.

    • @tombrown407
      @tombrown407 6 месяцев назад +1

It wouldn't make sense to have a can opener or blender be in a lending center. Whereas something like a lawnmower, which you only use once in months would make more sense to have a few shared between the neighbours on your street.
In a healthy community this happens anyway, people will borrow tools from their neighbours. If you're a carpenter then obviously you need your own tools. If you occasionally DIY some shelves then do you really need a full suite of chisels, planes, saws, clamps, benches, marking gauges etc, taking up space in your house?
There's also no need to track lending in a sinister way. We already have public libraries for books. You could also easily anonymise lending.

They discussed either _fining companies for creating products that last, or placing a PLANNED OBSOLESCENCE DATE on products, whereby either the manufacturer would create a buy-back "credit" within 30 days of the date, to encourage a new purchase. This showcases why every single belief we hold dear in the modern age must be ruthlessly scrutinized if not thrown out

Sounds like a one world government to me. Imagine all of the issues we have with individual governments all wrapped up into on world government.

What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world and forfeits his soul? Or what shall a man give in return for his soul?

This goes along with what I used to say often several years ago the way society and the economy works it makes the human being into a termite species.
Like termites in a tree eventually eat their self out of a home.
So is the direction of our current economic system.

love this movie, but the high pitch sound that happens several times throughout the film will prevent many people from watch this film all the way through. It was hard for me to get through, had to keep turning the volumne down during high pitched sound then back up when speaking parts came back on...

Love this movie and that other one in the series. I remember I bought a bunch online and would hand them out to random strangers. Also went to see Jacques Fresco give a lecture at some University in Sydney. All things Venus project. A few years later I realised that I can't change the external world around me, only my perception and action towards it. This movie helped shape the person I am. Rewatch? Maybe tomorrow. It delt with some heavy topics. But nah it'll be good to recap and see how my thoughts have changed. Can't believe something I had to buy a prepaid debit card for and had to lug around a TV and DVD player to watch is now as easy as to see just on my phone.
