I was the same way. Had a 315 bench in hs and couldn't squat it.. Or DL it.. And had no idea what a clean was.

Some real truth here, especially on 400 lb deadlift being nothing special. I'm running a basic novice linear program @28 years old, bw 90 kg and went from
    Squat 70 kg
    Deadlift 75 kg
    Bench 75 kg
    to
    Squat 105 kg
    Deadlift 125 kg
    Bench 100 kg
in ~ 5 months. I know the speed of improvement will slow down at some point, but there's no reason why I won't be able to deadlift 400 lb after a year or two of training, and my starting numbers weren't high.
In high school football program my bench went up a lot as some other people have said, but I was lucky if I could add 10 kg to my squat or clean in 8 months (we didn't deadlift). Wish I had known what I know now back then.

No offense, but your squat/deadlift technique probably sucked if after 5 months those were your numbers, especially with your bench being 5kg off your squat

Lol 2:15 just got back from 6 1/2 hour practice that was exactly like that. We lifted and then ran til we couldn't anymore.

How would a high school coach teach a room full of kids the squat? Should he just make time to teach 1 at a time and the rest just sit down and wait? Or does he find a way to coach multiple people at one time?

A coach could easily show 3 kids to do sets of 5 at the same time if they have to equipment

Would probably be much easier to take the Dan John route and teach them the front squat as it's probably technically the easiest....High elbows, knees out, plop straight down

Just imagine how many lives these shitty coaches have ruined... I don't mean these two on this video, but the coaches they talked about. Even with professional level athletes, bad coaches who love to scream are the rule, they ruin or shorten peoples careers. I know mine fucked me up some, with all the million silly things he had me do.
