It was SUPPOSED to be a CHOICE! Some women needed the freedom to work because they had no one to take care of them. It was never meant to devalue the work of the stay-at-home wife/mom

It did though, and many do now.💀 Seems like there was no specific strategy or laws like certain brotherhoods and religions meaning no restrictions and when you have a beast without a leash then it’s bound to become untamable. It’d be crazy if the future looks like that episode of Rick and Morty where the females of an alien species created an artificial womb and separated the men and women. Although, there’s more context, bruuuhh… I’m high rn.

As a stay at home mom, this is so true for me. I've had people make comments of disapproval insinuating that I should go back to work and put my kids in a daycare. 😒 Being a stay at home mom is not valued anymore. It's frustrating because I work hard with everything at home and with my kids and people act like I just sit at home all day relaxing.

I can agree, Even though I'm 19, I'm noticing that a good amount of my classmates don't really see their parents or really talk to them. My parents are busy but I still come home to warm food on the table and a hug and 'welcome back' from my mom.
My dad works all day, so I only see him in the nighttimes, but even then, he stays up to help us, hangout for an hour or two, play games. And on the days he has off, he spends it all with us.
In my childhood, I always had them around and my fondest memories are with my family. I didn't really go out to the streets alone because I was too occupied being with my family.

I am a Bangladeshi, grew up in Bangladesh, not a very developed country, pretty conservative. My mother worked as a government employee for 32 years of her life. Her generation was kinda the first generation to have women receive higher education (she went to the top school and graduated with a masters in the 70s) and have white collar jobs. People would try to taunt my dad that he "needs to send" his wife to work, would taunt my brother and I that we don't have mom at home all the time, and sometimes even my grandparents that how they could even "allow" that! But my grandparents, my father and my brother and I were immensely proud of her. We all supported her, especially my father and grandparents.
She made sure we receive the finest of the education (she and my grandfather used to help us with studies), she raised us with the hobby of reading and learning, she made us ambitious (I graduated from the toppest engineering school in Bangladesh and now finishing my PhD in the US to be a scientist and my brother is a pharmacist specialized in cancer treatment), she supported my father if he ever struggled in his business, gave my brother and I the love for cooking (although she cooked on weekends or special occasions), we stayed together with our grandparents and took care of them till the day they died, and now my brother and sister-in-law live with my parents and my mother has been the rock in my SIL's lung cancer journey (which is now in remission) . Now that I am an adult and have met a lot of people in my life, I see so many people carrying childhood trauma from traditional yet toxic family backgrounds. Whereas for my brother and I, our childhood is most amazing time of our lives and we can't stop talking about it. I am also one of those very few women who grew up with no history of sexual assault as a child, and all credit goes to my mother ( she was extra cautious about it, taught us good touch and bad touch and had my grandma look out for us at all times).
I didn't come home everyday to my mother waiting with food for me, but time with her meant learning and laughing and story time-absolute quality time which no food or material thing can make up for. I don't remember ever complaining (even as a child) why my mother isn't always at home like other mothers, and never heard that from my brother too. I am not in support of butt cheek and nipple flashing, but women can maximize their potential and still be in their feminine maternal energy if they receive the right support from their partners and surrounding. We always knew if anything ever happened to my father (God forbid), our education and well-being would not be compromised and I believe, that was a huge source of security as a child growing up in a middle class family. I have rarely come across women from my mother's generation who are as happy (and grateful) and secure as my mother. Credit goes to my father, too. Men and women build each other and raise happy healthy offsprings in the process.

I understand the dangers of the present day society but why do you think it's only the mother's fault that kids end up bad? That doesn't make sense. There are many families in which women work and children are raised well, spiritually and mentally. And there are many instances where children are being looked 24/7 but ends up as terrible people. And is the father not existent to you? Feminism began to give women a choice and to have equality in rights and opportunities. This is not the way feminism is going currently. As in being given the same opportunities as men, being paid the actual wage that women would get performing the same job as men, not be forced into gender roles society has normalized, and just overall not be discriminated because of our gender. We just wanted to be treated equally and be given a choice in the matter that concerned OUR lives. Now it’s just deteriorate to this BS.

Giving the choice to women, yeah thats the right thing to do, which i support. Trying to achieve equality is where feminsm fuked up. There is no equality amongst men. I made 73k two years ago. That was the most i ever made in a calendar year. And my best financial year of my lifetime, isn't even enough to give me, my woman and my child a comfortable life. And that 73k qualifies for the top 30 percent. Then I went into business for myself because I knew it still wasn't good enough. And I lost my ass and ended up at rock bottom. The brutal truth is that if a man can't qualify for the top ten percentage of men in America, and the top 1 percent of men world wide..... you'll never be able to afford a family. And you'll be constantly told you're worthless if you're not in the top ten percentage of men. They've made it damn near impossible. A hard working blue collar man used to be enough. It's a simple fact that being a housewife means you are not making your own income or gaining job experience. So if things go south and the relationship is not working, you won't have money to be able to leave, and you won't have the job experience needed to get a good job to pay your bills.
That's a huge risk to take. You are literally risking having to choose to live with an abuser or be homeless if the marriage fails.

That's so true. Sad thing is many are meant to feel worthless unless they work. I was told one time I had no right to voice my opinion since I wasn't working. I had four children to care for and originally was told he didn't want me to work because he made more than enough to support the family. But then his friends started asking him why I wasn't contributing to the income. So he decided I needed to work to contribute. I didn't have a problem with that if that was needed and what he wanted, but I still was expected to be a full time mom and house wife without any help.
He never to the time to go to parent teacher conferences, school plays, baseball, soccer and karate practices nor tournaments. I take that back, he went to one nationals tournament and a couple baseball games. But he didn't help out with household chores or anything I was falling behind on . I did it myself. But then he'd get me mad because I needed to bring home work I couldn't finish because I needed to take care of all those things including all the house work. I'd finish at midnight or later and still have to get up and make lunches and get the kids up and off to school. Not to mention wifey duties or be told I was being cold and not considering his needs nightly. Thank God I rarely had a problem there. But it did make ruff getting up some mornings.
I would have preferred to stay home with the kids and be a mom and house wife so I'd have more time for my husband. But nope society said I had to pretend to be feminist so my husband wouldn't get harassed for having a lazy wife that expected him to bring home the money.

Ironically, the Playboy Bunnies and his "girlfriends" actually had strict rules to live by. If you tell a woman she's powerful if she gets naked, she's not really getting naked for her, it's for him. It's a game of talking women into giving men what they want yet making the women feel like it was their idea or somehow makes them stronger.

A single income household is 100% viable when you're being minimalist/rational with your spending. There's nothing wrong with slumming it with your partner until there's enough saved to splurge. My uncle just moved over here from our home country (third world) with pennies a year ago. He now has a gf with a daughter that has her own room in their 2 bedroom apartment in NYC. He pays for everything, yet still lives comfortably. If modern relationships were more about love and spending time together than it was about money, the dating game wouldn't be as atrocious as it is now.

No, feminism didn't give anyone the microphone. All technologies are created, predominately by men and then it is used in the current society. If it wasn't a microphone it would be a bull horn or a loud yell. As for feminism, women have been very strong throughout history, it is only recently that the 'feminist movement' has decided that women are victims and need to remove/reject men. Happily most women are getting fed up with these special people and getting back to the business of wife, mother and homemaker.

As a stay at home mom, it is the most rewarding and fulfilling jobs you can have. Sadly, I have been told more often by women that I need to put my kids in daycare or get a nanny so I can get a “real job” because I shouldn’t let having a family “tie me down”. Todays women’s have the misconception that stay at home moms sit at home and do absolutely nothing. I not only cook, clean, and keep things organized, but I get to raise and teach my children. I think society cast a huge shadow on children as well trying to make them think that they are bad for wanting to have their parents around. My brother and his fiancé have both tried to tell my sons that he needs to “let mommy go you don’t need to be around her all the time.” And “you can go places without mommy and daddy you know, we can hang out together without them.” My boys are very exploitative and wanting to do things themselves. When it comes to people trying to get them alone without one of their parents around and they say they don’t like it than I’m bad. Like wtf? Also made snide remarks about if my sons need comfort after getting hurt that I’m spoiling him and teaching him to depend on me. Yeah that’s the point, my 3 year old and 1 year old should be able to depend on their mother to be there 😂 anyhoo I know I’m just venting now but the point is that the stay at home moms and working dads has been very under appreciated, judged, and very misunderstood.

I agree but also one of the leading reasons why women don’t leave in abusive relationships is financial independence. Economic insecurity marginalizes women, increasing their risk of victimization.
Violence can keep women in conditions of poverty and economic dependence, and a lack of access to resources can limit women's choices and keep women from leaving abusive situations. So women who are stay at home moms in this situation are stuck because they risk becoming in poverty if they leave the abusive situation, so they have no other choice but to stay with there abuser. How tragic…

That one of the main events that formed feminism
Was after the war pre and post prohibition
Men was spending all the money at the bars and clubs
Leaving the women destitute and having to
Work themselves to provide for the family
That was the one of the main reasons women worked
    And after learning that
It changes a lot when it comes to perspective
Everyone is different I won’t deny that
But it’s crazy how the feminist movement started bc of the care women had for their families and their future
    Not necessarily always themselves

Not to mention the large businesses that were campaigning for feminism to convince more women to work in the workplace so the workforce is doubled and labor costs can be cut in half🤷‍♂️
I mean it worked… the jobs with women and men usually pay less than stem fields that women didn’t go into because of restrictions until 1964 then companies later started practically begging women to work these stem jobs that were either more time consuming or physically demanding to the point that affirmative action was made and women still choose not to work these fields a majority of the time and these fields make huge money because the workforce is almost the same as it was pre feminism.

Later in life she told me though she Love my Dad she ONLY married him because she ALWAYS wanted to own a house. Although women could Legally buy a house in 74' Most the Majority of banks would decline the loan. Then in 81 the Real estate act made it so that banks just couldn't decline a loan based on being a woman. The bank has to look into your account and job status. Stop acting like it was most men spending their money in bars instead of on their family and leaving them to go without. This is a blatant LIE. Yea there's ALWAYS going to be an issue with addiction but it was NOTHING compared to the level of addiction we have today. And the majority were FUNCTIONING addicts. Meaning that they worked and still provided. Back then if a man was drinking the family's money he would be PUBLICLY HUMILIATED. He would also have been ostracized by the other men and even faced public whippings and worse. You think the community just ignored it. My grandfather had his wages given DIRECTLY to his wife after he got sh!t faced ONCE after work and spent the money in the pub and on a tortoise and a panther cub for his kids yea you could buy ANYTHING in the pub. 😂 For 25 YEARS AFTER all his wages went to his wife. She had to go pick them up on Fridays 😂 I don't think you remotely understand what it was actually like. 😂 Back then you were SHAMED into doing the right thing or you were forced out of the community. Alone. The wife and children would stay and be cared for by their family and friends and even the local lord's would step in and hire the woman to be a nanny or a housekeeper. The church would house feed and clothe them. They were NEVER left with nothing. And it's stupid ignorant and straight up uneducated to act like it was a huge issue when it OBVIOUSLY wasn't. It was milked and overinflated by dumbasses who just wanted to ban alcohol but that was propaganda. Not an actual issue. 🤡☠️🤦‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤣
