@@jaredbryce7964 hmmmm, maybe you need to use this enemy to get over your panic rolling… dodge his vacuum slice move to your right and try not to get hit with any Destined Death bs. Strike or Pierce damage, most status effects aren’t worth it. Good luck!
Basically this fight is that there’s a gargoyle, but then there’s another one.

I thought only the Black Blade Kindreds are ones related to Maliketh the Black Blade. The valiant versions are totally different to Black Blade Kindred.

Always beyond over leveled and over buffed when I fight these guys. The poison spray is just cherry on top.
I actually just discovered the twin gargoyle fight in siofra river today on my new game + for the first time. quite the timing on this upload.
My main weapon is the Gargoyle's Twinblade which you get after killing them. It took some time as I had to defeat Radahn.
dual weilding the twinblades is the best build in the game
How was it?
Hardest boss or bosses in the game for me. No joke.
I wanted to break my controller fighting them. Kept getting so close. I played with 20 vigor though like an idiot.

The broken gargoyles do remind me of the alburanics. They can’t walk and seem to be frail and weak. Perhaps that’s the fate of all the gargoyles

Fun fact: the milky white water in Deeproot Depths is likely a result of Godwyn’s corpse wax. Corpse wax is what becomes of fat during the saponification - under the right environmental conditions, fat undergoes a chemical process that turns it into soap and glycerol.
Their accuracy is difficult to measure, but there are some old stories about people purposefully cleaning their clothes in bodies of water downstream from graveyards, to take advantage of the soapy discharge produced by the corpses. The movie Fight Club mentions a story like this.
So the next time you roll around or lay down in the water in Deeproot Depths, just know that you’re getting squeaky clean :) 🧼
Despite his size which could be giving off quite the amount of it, he's also technically not death in full. He only died in spirit, the body is bound to whatever holds him, the body is alive but also half dead, its never ending soap.
That makes me wary of the “soap” item you can find down there

The houses in Leyndell were used as storage for the massive amounts of corpses created during the shattering war (fight that broke out after Marika shattered the ring)
The corpse wax seen on the doors is from so many bodies being stuffed in them that it is leaking out

It's entirely possible that the gargoyles found in deeproot depths were put there to guard Godwyn the golden's body. And just decayed overtime.

i killed the one in front of bestial sanctum, now gurranq is aggro'ed I can't give him deathroots :((
It's probably not because of killing the gargoyle. Gurranq is scripted to go hostile at some point, beat him up a bit and he'll calm back down.

Idk anything about elden rings but arent gargoyles supposed to be neutral good. Like theyre protectors of a specific area and as long as you dont desecrate the area or the statue youre cool
The imps and the erdtree burial watchdogs are more like that in ER, unlike them and gargoyles in previous soulsborne games these gargoyles all have humanoid faces and appear to be sentient since some have learned incantations. Then again some watchdogs can cast spells

Oh? Where is it stated that they serve Maliketh? I have tried (keyword tried) to read all the lore entries in the game and I never found anything would establish said connection. So it would be cool to find that piece of missing lore.
Some of them have black blade kindred in the name, maliketh is the black blade, someone correct me if im wrong, idk much about the lore
@@alexbhanks You are absolutely right. I don't know why I didn't make the connection between the name and Maliketh's title. In retrospective, the Black Kindred's AoE attack is fairly similar to Maliketh's as well.
It is a shame that FromSoft chooses to bury cool lore under layers upon layers of vagueness. I mean, I don't want everything spelled out for me, but man, some cool shit I wish was more fleshed out you know?

Did everyone just forget that a few of these things are in Dark Souls 3 in the Irithyl Dungeon?
Easily the worst boss I’ve ever experienced in a video game… even if your a die hard from software fan this boss fight should not exist in its current format, and the fact is by the time you get to it, it isn’t even that challengingz… 9-10 times your dying to the fact the camera can’t keep up with the large bosses so you have no idea what the other one is doing half the time, and they have a poison attack that not only does tick damage on hit but pretty much instantly poisons you as well… it’s legit not a fun encounter and I can’t believe they nerfed Radhan and malenia and looked at this fight and said no it’s fine
