Here is my overview of Fighting Hero III for the NES. Graphics: Well, they are far better than it's prequel. At least they are colorful and the sprites are surprisingly big for NES fighting game standards. | Grade: B+ Music/Sound: I suppose the music's at least reasonable. I mean, I kinda enjoyed listening to it. Sound isn't too bad, either. | Grade: B Gameplay/Game Control: At least Fighting Hero III actually works instead of being stiff as hell. I mean, just look at the difference in the controls between Fighting Hero and Fighting Hero III. The controls are responsive and there's no stiffness or delays or anything like that. There's 10 characters: Duke (who can be considered as a semi-Shoto character, due to the fact that he has the Hurricane Kick and Shoryuken, but he also has the Sonic Boom), Terisa (who seems to be based on Chun Li), Lee (who has to be a Bruce Lee clone), K. Sato (who might be original), Bayefu (who looks like Hulk on the character selection screen, but is based on Zangief, Blanka and Taz), Tanam (who might be based on Adon), Hook (who is original), Sama (who might be original), Toza (who might be based on Blanka and Dhalsim) and Rasha (who is original). Think about this: there's a Bruce Lee clone, a pirate character AND a genie in this fighting game. Heck, World Heroes 2 wasn't even out yet, so this fighting game beat that to the punch (as far as having the first pirate and the genie as a playable character goes). There is an easier way to do special moves. If the player loses exactly 4 times and presses Start when the continue timer is at 6, then the player can do "easy" special moves with Select, A+Select or B+Select. There's also a Staff Roll that's like Street Fighter II's. | Grade: A+ Positives: Responsive controls, 10 endings (for each character) and a way to do "easier" special moves means that you should have a lot of fun (especially in 2-player mode). There's also the fact that a Bruce Lee clone, a pirate character and a genie are playable characters - not even World Heroes 2 had a genie as a playable character. Negatives: I do have to say a couple of things here. While Fighting Hero III is very good, it has 2 negatives. One: EVERY character in this game (at least in 2-Player) has 2 clones (each). While I'm thankful that you don't fight the 10 characters plus their 2 clones (in 1-Player Mode), it's still kinda lazy to have 2 clones of each character. (I know that happens far too frequently with bootleg fighting games, but seriously, it's still lazy to do so). The other negative is that you cannot pause at all (unless you have an emulator). I mean, seriously? WHY? Why not just program start to pause the game? Replayability: The fact that there's 10 endings should be enough to bump the replayability to an A, but add responsive controls and a way to do "easy special moves and this fighting game gets an A+. Total Grade | A+
HOW WAS I NOT AWARE OF THIS? fighting hero 1 is to sf1 (but worse) but this game is to 3rd strike (but not as innovative) like seriously we need a bootleg game EVO
Very good fighting game. Big sprites, responsive controls, aggressive AI, but not cheap.
Wow fighting hero 1 was bad and the sequel which is the 3rd game is really improved from the original.
(Edited because Gramar)
Wait and fighting hero ii ?
There is no fighting hero 2
What ?
Fighting Hero 2 = Street Fighter 2. Lol.
really like your job, what you do is amazing pick up games that are great but forgotten, played many of them
Lee (back then for word +kick) fast flying kicks
