    The most beautiful rendition of the first movement of Bach's Italian Concerto on the piano that I can possibly imagine!

    Otherwise an eccentric pianist, Gould plays the Italian Concerto exquisitely, straightforward, charming, musical and without the least affectation.
    Most decidedly the best performance of the first movement that I've ever heard!

  • @ЁжикСредиземноморский

    Какая манера игры у него !!!! Величавая основательная , как и сама музыка великого Баха !!!

    It always sounded familiar, like an old friend. Seems that some of the concerto was soundtrack in the Talented Mr Ripley, that's where I first heard it. Marvelous.

    It's polyphonic baroque music. It's supposed to be that way, motoric and in steady tempo. It's not Chopin.

    האיטליאן כונצרטו זו מנגינה ממש יפה מזל שבח כתב אותה ומזל שגלן גולד הגאון הזה יודע לנגן אותה.

      Arrogance is your presumption that he should write in a "european language" in a global forum that's accessible in most parts of the world

    Nice performance, but this piece sounds so much better when played on the harpsichord.

  • @organman52

    Power? Oh please. He is UNremarkable. I know pianists who can play like this and better whose names are completely unknown. Have you listened to the sewage that came out of this man's mouth? Go listen to his interviews with Bruno Monsaignon if you are in the mood to vomit.

  • @organman52
    @organman52 11 лет назад

    Just awful. He plays like a robot. No offense, robots.
