I know of tuners tuning up to 5 pianos a day. So at 150. Per that’s 750.$ a day. I think that most tuners tune maybe 3 a day. 5 a day would put you in the top 3%. I’m semi retired. I try to tune 1 a day. That’s 750. Per week. Time wise is 10- 12 hours. It depends on driving time etc. usually about 1 1/2 hours per piano. Give or take.
Do you know any certified piano tuner in Tucson AZ? My piano tuner cancelled my appointment with him in April because of covid 19 and he has not communicated since then. I need my piano tuned. I have a 3 year old 6’4” Boston grand.
If you manage to tune 1 piano a day, 5 days a week, that's 41.6k gross. Obviously you could theoretically do more, but it seems unlikely that you'd be able to schedule 1 tuning a day consistently, so adding more that might be unreasonable. Doesn't sound like a good living on its own, but as a supplemental income to make a little extra here and there, that's alright.
You should be able to gross $100,000 tuning pianos. I tune 3 per day, but could probably do 4 if I had to. Depends on the piano--some can really wear you out. Also keep in mind that there is MUCH more to piano service than tuning. For example, regulation, especially grand regulation, can pull in a lot more. Services like action rebuilding, piano cleaning, installing new strings or hammers, fixing broken parts, servicing Dampp-Chaser systems, voicing, filing hammers, lyre repair, ivory repair, Jansen Artist Bench service, restringing, etc. are all part of your income. You can also find pianos at estate sales, fix them, and flip them.

It cost $250 for less than 2 hour job to tune my piano today, and I gave him $20 tip, I’m in Maryland.
Today, I got a quote for $125 in north Florida for standard tuning

Actually we tune 4 pianos a day about 5 times a week. Pretty good living if you can swing it.
@@thepianotechnicianacademy9560 yeah I'm with you. This sounds like a lucrative business.
