  • Doing my first pour of copper to see what it's like vs silver. Just pouring a few "generic" round ingots

      A very interesting texture on the top side, certainly different from silver! Also, I wasn't expecting the red'ish coloring under the black that I buffed off, so that was a surprise :)

      Well, I did do the silver pour video previously, but this was just my 2nd pour in years, and 1st time working with copper. Previously I did some lead pouring about 45 years ago!

      Ya, copper definitely different than silver when pouring. I'm stripping some more wires and will try a few more pours in copper soon :)

    Where did you get the copper

      We remodeled our '70's kitchen when we bought our house, and I saved all the old solid 3 strand wiring that we pulled out of it. I think each foot of wire is about an ounce of copper. I will do some better measurements on the next batch I strip and weigh it up before melting to check.
