You know, I have very strong feelings towards Gael’s Theme, it’s genuinely amazing, in my opinion. But, Yhorm however, is something special.

Yhorm is a very under rated his story is one not many can relate to untill the day comes when you lose somone you wanted to protect and listen to his theme see the emotion behind him he sits in the dark in his throne olmost crestfallen till he sees you his rage at an intruder consumes him and he charges at you not careing about the storm ruler he left next to his throne in short he dosent care wether you kill him or not he refuses to save a world that forsook him long ago (Link the flame) and like real life no one really cares or notices much a sad story that olmost mirrors my life atm -_- oh nice theme sorry for rambleing

I like the mostly male choir for this particular piece. Many songs in Dark Souls communicate scope, danger, machismo, tragedy or regality.
But Yhorm's communicates *strength.*
Yhorm wasn't only physically strong. He has proven his strength by ignoring the people who were ashamed of him and fought on for them. Anyone would have stopped, but he fought on. That's true *Strength* right there

Imagine fighting any boss in their prime...the player would likely be fucked before even leaving the first real area lol.
I think Yhorm is as close to his prime as you can get. Of course if he still had his shield he would be unstopable. Or if he had the rage he had when his beloved was slain.
Martin A. Olesen The Yhorm we fight feels like a madman with no sanity or rationality in him left. He just rushes at you to crush you. I imagine if we fought the Yhorm pre-lighting the first flame, he would be more powerful.
To be fair, we fight Gundyr in his prime at some point *wink*, and Aldrich is also in his prime. There's also nothing to say that most bosses aren't, like the DSArmor; it's a living suit of armor... can it not be in its prime??
As far as Yhorm though... he used to be a battlefield menace, and with a shield. I'm not sure even Bloodborne bosses could stand up to him back then.

You don't truly gain respect for Yhorm unless you fight him without Storm Ruler. After I did, with my straight sword, I wished the final boss was honestly stronger....just my opinion.
I loved Yhorm for how powerful he is. Definitely one that you gotta fight extra carefully
