And yes, you are correct - pausing isn't technically necessary, it just adds more safety when switching directions, so you won't go an extra bit to the left or up, specially in Upstream.

@@Tebt_W It is consistent once you get the hang of it.
As you can see, there's a little setup before jumping and going diagonally, trajectory here is more important than the timing for the spin, and then submarine jump.
