I've never made a Simpsons video before, but I thought I'd test the water (it's technically a Disney product now too so this isn't even that different to my usual stuff I guess) so make sure to leave a like if you want more videos similar to this one!

First of all it affects many youtubers I watch lives and I don’t want any country to suffer under a bad leader( and no right now I’m not necessarily calling Trump a bad leader that isn’t important for this argument) second the precedent of America can definitely make decisions that have effects on the whole world. How he or she deals with global stuff like the pandemic or climate change or the trading with other countries or wars also affects other countries.
I think Seamus should react to some of his comedy stuff that he started with. I would be soo funny.

Like it did happen, but it would’ve been bigger news if coronavirus wasn’t going on. The pandemic took over the news between the months of March and June. June was focused more on the riots. Now the news is all about the election and reopening schools.

Finally, someone else shares my scepticism of the Simpson's "predictions"
it honestly annoys me so much how people keep believing in these made up predictions. one time my brother showed me an instagram post that said the simpsons predicted the death of George Floyd [R.I.P.] and it showed a picture of chief wiggum, who looked like he was drawn on ms paint, kneeling on george floyd's neck, who also looked like he was drawn on ms paint, and in the background, lisa was holding a sign that said justice for george. why would lisa go inside and make a sign if she saw this happening instead of trying to save george?

There have been some minor mutations discovered around nuclear meltdown sites, but Nuclear power plants, even counting the few high profile disasters, are still statistically the most environmentally safe and clean form of power in existence today.
Also, meteorites hit earth hundreds of times a year. By definition, a meteorite is tiny and basically harmless. It is meteors that are dangerous since they are big enough to cause major problems.

Tl:dr believing that the simpsons predicts the future is ahistoric and doesn’t take into account the past.
I think people need to realize that the simpsons were not trying to predict the future but they were commenting on how things were at the time. And a lot of what they were commenting on is still relevant to today. You just start to realize that things really havnt changed that much. Like the tech gets better but the social systems are still crap. “Even if the courts don’t work, as long as everyone is filming everyone, justice will be served” is not a prediction. It’s a commentary on what was going on at the time of airing.

HOWEVER, all of the true predictions were also just things, until they became predictions.

Nuclear power plants aren't bad for the environment, but are actually (one of) the cleanest energy source(s) in existence. What is bad for the environment, is a nuclear disaster, which is very uncommon: the modern power plants have so many protocols and failsaves that the chance of disaster is negligeble.

tbh what’s the point of a ‘flying car’ like we already have flying vehicles and helicopters are essentially flying cars except they can’t move on the ground, but they can go almost anywhere and you could like take a booster board on a helicopter and when you land you use that to move around. also we do have a few flying car prototypes so i don’t even get the “we don’t have a flying car yet” joke.
Shamus your one of my favorite you tubers. Your humor is self deprecating which I like but I feel bad sometimes when it seems like you think no one likes or appreciates your videos, I really like your videos.
The whole quarantining part of the disease in The Simpsons that was completely forgotten about after five minutes is probably inspired by the fact that self-isolation has been a proven way to greatly slow the spread of pandemics, as it was a method used during the outbreak of the Black Plague and onward. The rest is just either coincidence caused by the fact that the creators are geniuses, or people bored out of their minds. Yes, there have been coincidences, but that’s only because they were made to either make a joke, or because they were centered around either a famous person or rallies/movements about topics that the creators recognized are important.

American here to confirm the killer bees thing was real. Japanese giant hornets got into Washington somehow, which are not only deadlier than normal to humans but suuuuuuper deadly to American bee populations which aren't adapted to combat being eaten by enormous aggressive hornets. (Fun fact, Japanese bees can counterattack and kill giant hornets by cooking them to death.) Anyway, pretty recently the nests/populations were captured so hopefully there won't be an issue.
I like to think that no one requested a video on this because Seamus' viewers are intelligent enough to not think the Simpsons predicts the future.

Not only did Trump run for president in 2000, he's been bragging about how great of a president he thought he could be since 1987! People were dunking on him for ages because of that. Doonesbury, a popular newspaper comic strip, had a series about Trump as president from the '80s. Joking about Trump being president was their equivalent of us joking about Kanye West being president.
