If living legend tenor Placido Domingo said she can sing opera if she chose that career path, you KNOW she's got the goods. I've heard her do a small snippet of a Rossini mezzo-coloratura aria, tossing off fioritura like it was nothing (you would call it "melisma" in non-operatic singing), with ascending and descending scales and everything in between at lightning speed. In that, she is truly unique among the vocal trinity.
