It's so weird that there are other "Comedy School" channels on RUclips that are mega popular, and this one is BY FAR the most helpful and doesn't have the subscribers it deserves. Keep up the great work Mr. Corley. While we aren't in the millions (like they should be), your subscribers appreciate you.

I am a new comedian and I've been on stage 3times and I just got the same advice from a group of know it alls . Thank you so much for being here.

  • @CallMeCain

It started with an idea to RUclips "how to be a comedian"
I'm genuinely ecstatic to come across this channel and I couldn't be more impressed with your videos and professionalism. For once I see an actual path to doing what I've wanted to do for a long time, I just didn't know where to start.
In finance, it's super corporate and anyone could make a case for being offended or feeling a certain bit was unprofessional. I know it's possible and now I feel I can actually do this.
The ultimate goal was to take the stuff I was already doing and be able to translate it too big corporate events for large mutual fund and hedge fund companies who also need a strong opening act but because the information is so professionally specific few people get my material unless they're an adviser or an analyst.
But this is where comedy is needed and I know for a fact the industry is ripe. For once in my life I think I can finally exercise the ultimate goal.
People often ask what do you want to do in life or what's your goal and it's a very difficult question to answer. I've surmised I want to use my creative capacity to 100% of its potential and connect the dots that are so blatant but hidden in plain sight . The problem though is how do I do it in such an environment? I'll follow your advice and work towards being the highest paid comedian no one's ever heard of.
Lastly, keep it up you're actually changing lives by empowering people who are still finding their way and have the courage to find the answer. After all, I now use your voice to text command to "start a new paragraph"
Didn't know that was an option. It works C?
    But not. Always
    Thank you

Great advice on these videos Jerry. I'm 3 months/25 sets into comedy and in a hurry to improve! I've had a lot of the bad advice you talk about already and seen a lot of that schmucky lazy attitude which is destined for mediocrity and failure. Anyone smart knows it's absolutely right and beneficial to follow rules/formulas that work and be guided by the success of others. These videos are helping me a lot. So thanks and please keep them coming!

Even the worst professional comic knows things that I still need to learn. Things about the craft that have gotten them to where they are, even if they’re perceived as hacks. I’ve promised myself I won’t judge other comics when I could be studying them instead. Plus, why make enemies?

You have to pick around the pig shit to find the tiny gold nuggets. I find this problem occurs in many fields, when I was just starting out bodybuilding I would ask big jacked dudes what to do and the most common response was "you just got to get in there and lift" it took awhile but finally I figured things out with the help of a few good ppl willing to help me out.
