Labour has always, and will always do more for students and teachers than the Nats. The Nats recent 'plans' for education are comedic at best. We already have a rich and varied curriculum. Just need more TAS, lower class numbers and an income which keeps up with inflation. The Nats gave us no pay rise for 9 years, and threatened to increase class sizes. As for Nationals 'National Standards', they were toxic and didn't lift standards. To be honest, if Luxon bring them back... the teacher push back will be intense.

She did some good. But the majority of what she did was run nz into the ground. The dollar isn't worth shit (printing money, imposing more and more regulations on industries that are our main experts devalues the dollar). Increasing unemployment pay turns unemployment into a career, costing the government more money and as a result. Costing tax payers more. A massive list on what she screwed up but like always. Her supporters ignore all the bad and selectively choose to only look at the good.

Blaming specific weather events on climate change and claiming it is a crisis. This shows just how far from reality she is. NIWA tried this in respect of the Gabrielle cyclone until they were called out by a researcher, Ian Wishart. Climate change there has always been and always will be, especially with the hot air rising from Wellington. Converting productive NZ dairy farms to weed infested "carbon farms" of Pinus Radiata will have a global impact. It will result in at least the same number of hectares of tropical rainforest being cleared in Brazil to replace the loss in NZ's meat and dairy export.

Meanwhile NZ's CO2 emission targets will not make a blind bit of difference to the future climate, but it will add to deforestation of Brazilian rainforests. God I love that lady. Listening to this speech has left me with tears in my eyes... throughout the speech.
Dame Jacinda Ardern, Aunty Jacinda. You and your Labour Party have so, so, so much to be proud of!!!!!
Every hour of the day I see the results of your legacy!!!! Whether if is the hundreds of lovely new homes in my immediate neighbourhood, to seeing the young people in employment when they previously weren't, seeing the pride and manaakitanga of our rangatahi... the kindness and care from the young people around me, as well as their achievements to hearing the many many people who now speak on the TV and radio with beautiful pronunciation of a huge range of Maori phrases.
In our psyche, and in my psyche, the words "They are us" will remain forever, and a huge pride in my country...more than ever before in the 50 odd years of my life.
We are waiting to find out what our new government will forge in this country.
With enormous sadness I realise that so much is at stake. It is conservation, pest control, the wellness of the poor, our amazing Treaty, the unity of New Zealanders, our great response to climate change, a tax system that doesn't further benefit the rich more than the poor...and so so much that words can't describe!!!!

A female NZ leader, who led in her own way! Love her or hate her, she was an exceptional communicator, who follows science. I look at the news today, and I see Trump. Pays off a pawn star, and his lawyer goes to jail. Only now facing charges, power hungry, wants another go. I'm a smidge grateful to be a kiwi.

A remarkable leader during the most tumultuous period in the post-War era. She literally saved tens of thousands of kiwi lives. Not only that, she saved their jobs as well. NZ still has the lowest unemployment rate in 70 years.

Yay someone who got it. Well except the remarkable leader part. Also the unemployment rate is partly nat and labour. Not just one or the other but you got the other part right. Normal labour supporters say covid is the hardest thing new Zealand has been through. Like people going to war and been killed for the country isn't hard.

@petelosuaniu I see. You're blind to reality. Nat did get people into work. Unemployment has been going down for the last 30 year's. Also. The lowest it's been was in the 90s. Before she even entered the workforce. Accept the fact that nat and lab are both responsible for where new Zealand is. The pros and cons on where we are. They wore both in power. They both done the work. Stop been ignorant
